One of the things that drives me absolutely bonkers is getting interrupted when the castbar is complete and I don't even get an interrupted message. It's like the game just ignored what I cast.

landed in a shitty 3 queue for Keeper of the Lake to help cap poetics for the final week, both BLMs could barely AOE worth a shit and poetics princess scholar can barely keep me up. out dps all of them on every single boss and to top it off the scholar ruin pulls the last boss. when i call them out they turn on the casual elitism and give me shit because i didnt pull fast enough when god forbid they couldn't take down a 2 mob pull without letting me die.
life is hard
Got kicked from ultros df for using the "trick" for when people fail to get 3 imp stacks
Meh, I mean we "wiped" once or twice (forgot) because DPS couldn't get imp stacks enough during the 360 storm.
So on the next run I said fuck it and i'll make sure we win this time (which rare from me I usually just ditch).
So when that time happened I saw that 2/4 DPS has 2 stacks and the other 2 had 2, so during the push I just did the trick.
People were like :O how did we not 'wipe' and others goes. "Maple cheated he didn't got pushed down the ledge and that's illegal, I don't wanna be banned for winning on a cheap method and assisting a cheater so let's just wipe and reset."
So they all jumped down and left me alone to die in time, because i'm too gimp and can't solo Ultros + Typhoon.
So when I died they just kicked me
Kinda annoyed me but fuck them
Even though the kick was dumb, you can't compare the Twin pit to jumping off the ledge on purpose on Ultros to prevent a wipe if DPS were dumb
It's funny because in comparison it is similar in the sense that it's a technique to make it easier to handle a mechanic, but at the same time if the trick in dragonsneck was 'illegal' they would have patched it out by now.
I bet they wouldn't give 2 shits if Garuda ex still glitched when you aggro her from the back with a fairy and she stays focused there and have her script broken when you dismiss it (as long as you don't make eye contact with her.)
Why is patching the game so difficult? Just had to do a fresh Windows reinstall, I try to download the game and it's a 13.8gb update. I am getting constant fails with error [11006][20641][20643].
Yah, I recently had to reinstall. I shudder to think what it is going to be like 5 years from now.
I would think the expansion (and future expansions) will have all the patches on it but this is SE. I did get one of the patches down on the third attempt (it seems the downloads split the patches into chunks around 1.5gb each).
I may have a RAM issue that is causing the error however. Something corrupted my Windows forcing me to reinstall and on my fresh installation I've just had a memory related blue screen. Windows memory test also tells me there's a hardware problem. I've got 4x 4gb sticks installed so I'll have to do some testing to find out what's up. I hate diagnosing hardware issues.
I'm just glad all this shit didn't happen next week, but the launch date is creeping up and I currently can't play which is a bit concerning.
Is there even going to be a pre-load for HW?
There's a 24 hour maintenance before EA starts, take a guess.
Yea and if they were smart they would have the preload period for 2 weeks prior so the servers don't get slammed, then just do a small patch during maintenance.
They probably just don't want everything data mined too far before the release.
Something something what is encryption.
This is SE, where it used to be that session IDs didn't expire, you could spam packets to the server to level up (still a thing?), you could easily convert potions into platinum pieces, and could even tell the server that someone else was buying things from the market board.
Encrypt the patch so we can't mine anything form it? Yeah, good luck with that.
Yoship is butthurt due to a guy name Doctor Mog being a retard and posting Datamining on the official forums, every update and during beta, e.g posting Coil and Crystal tower junk during Beta 2, so yoshi mde it his mission to not have "early data" in the datafiles which means everyones inevitably suffers to "prevent spoilers".
It is encrypted, annoyingly so. (Not that it's encrypted but the type is annoying and retarded.) So regardless datamining would happen. And yes, it's still a thing to spam certain packets to the server but due to the fact it's very visible no one smart does it.
They already went through the trouble of hashing the index file paths in the benchmark so it's all non-human readable/unorganized as well, which'll carry over to the expansion update presumably.
Still doesn't stop folks, but why bother.
