FFXIV Random Complaint Thread II: DPS can't count to potato

I remember needing Ballad between longer pulls in AK/WP at <i70 and Brayflox HM at (I think?) <i100. I remember the WHM's needing it as well.

Obviously when you did Brayflox HM after some Second Coil/Welfare gear your Bards were just doing Requiem.

Warrior still needs Paeon/Goad though. Especially the first pull in Brayflox where you're never out of combat until the first boss is dead.

Warrior absolutely needs Paeon if running with insanely damaging party members, such as blms, to the extent that multiple OPs are needed per pack. Its always nice when I run with a nin that's clever enough to determine which pulls will take the longest to clear and thus goads me for those.

PLD uses Flash a handful of times, and can Riot if getting low. DRK requires MP to keep Darkside active, which drains MP, and has to be up if the DRK wants to use half of his cooldowns, and Dark Arts on top of that if he wants full potency on them. Combine that with the fact that Unleash has a higher MP cost than Flash, and if DPS are going all-out the mobs aren't going to last long enough for Blood Price to fully refill MP, not to mention that Blood Price has a cooldown. It's really not a valid direct comparison; MP management requires more attention on DRK than PLD. That said, it's not an excuse for waiting that long between pulls. If it's taking 1-2 minutes then he's not even turning off Darkside while waiting, which is stupid. Sorry for the wall of text, my phone's carriage return is just adding a space for some reason.

Yeah but that goes on the person second on the threat list (as far as I'm aware). Either way I never came close to pulling Ravana off the DRK, that dummy just wasn't paying attention.

they're gonna have to really tune up the fate bonuses in the new places if they want people to do it. no reason i should be getting 14k in coerthas western when i can get 21k+ in north than for gold.

Seconding this. Fixed my computer yesterday and got back to playing the game. FATEs in the new zones have extremely pitiful exp gain for no reason other than to annoy us.

Yea, it's ironic when you consider that SE specifically made it so we can't get exp in lvl 50 dungeons unless we do them in roulette to funnel us into new conent, yet Fates in North Than are one of the better ways to level up to the mid 50s. The amount of FATE bots around is pretty funny too.

My only complaint is the fate xp in new zones. If you're not gonna award dungeon xp in uncapped lvl 50 dungeons... At least make new zone fates give more xp than n.than. Fucking stupid to do a lvl 54 fate and get 13k xp for gold.

Should just let 50 dungeons give you XP until you're not 50, so you can at least ding 51 and do Dusk Vigil.

Also when does AST suck less? The amount of bloody times I get Spire/Ewer back-2-back-2-back in a dungeon at 38.

It's a great symbol of how so many people play DRK tbh.

They want to look cool (use Darkside in town) but don't want to be good at the job (don't use Darkside when fighting).

I just don't want to level a second job because FATE grinding is so bloody unrewarding. and why would I waste my roulettes on exp when I can get that sweet, sweet law?

The vault first boss... as a PLD... I don't want to PLD anymore unless they give me that Zero-Shift (Zone of the Enders reference) > Shield Bash > Braver combo

I'd just settle for Oaths being off GCD. Not costing MP either would just be a bonus at that point.

I mean, what you'd like to happen is never going to happen.

It scans for the second tank if your solo tanking it won't swap to anyone else (unless its been hot fixed)

Today I learned. Guess that's also why when the other tank got knocked off I kept getting the wave thing.
