FFXIV Random Complaint Thread II: DPS can't count to potato

I did my Bismarck story last night in DF and it was fun times. 3 or 4 people claim to be new but no one mentions anything about the fight - tank just doesn't care and runs in and pulls. The second healer spends the four wipes complaining about the WHM and people attacking the wrong mobs. Like how about spend the time explaining instead of bitching?

I went in to a different group and one shot it. The biggest problem I found with the first group was it needed LB to pass the big adds phase and thus couldn't kill the final phase before enrage. My one shot group almost finished the last phase after the first round of adds.

Yeh the fight is dependant on DPS. First group has 3 MCH and a DRG.... we never killed the 2 big adds.

Second group I went into, 2 BLMs and 2 DRGs. Things just melted.

For duty finder groups, make one of the healer go full dps. Its not hard to solo heal this.

I've learnt one thing about the DF, its there for two reasons to upset the good people who need help passing the next stage or keeping the unskilled down it slightly upsets me when I have to drag people not worth the time to get a win

I went through that fight with the first group I did it but didn't realise how lucky that was. Helped a friend yesterday and we had the crappiest DPS ever. We had one guy jump off the island at the start just to see and THEN realise that the rest of us had to die because he couldn't reset. Either genuine or trolling - who knows. Worse was the DPS. It took 3-4 attempts to get through the first part on Bismark... The machinist we had died every attempt.

Eventually we all vote abandoned and requeued. Great group, huge jump in DPS and we oneshot it.

HW just made the bads worst. The entire PS4 base it at a huge disadvantage, then add in a bunch of new skills to people that have trouble keeping up a 6 part rotation and a continent now divides the playerbase.

I honestly can't see how you can be bad at this game unless you don't understand numbers or danger zones at all. The hardest part about this game is actually setting up your keybinds and macros.

No the hardest part of the game is enabling a third and fourth hotbar apparently. I've had people in DF say they keep losing their combo because they're manually switching bar 1 to bar 3 and have no idae how to add more bars.

Honestly, it's not so much about being bad as not caring I think.

Or rather, they don't correlate being more effective at their job with having fun, they just want to press a few buttons while watching animations (and/or Netflix) and get a pat on the head.

There' not much more at a disadvantage then controller PC user

as a SCH I have 0 problem to crossbar my skills

For healing I like to point and click, I play what they say "Yoshi Style"



I bind the important buttons (cure 1, cure 2, area cure, esuna) buttons to my D-pad, and click everything else lol

My primary buttons are macroed with mouseover.

For important stuff (cooldowns) I just click
For SCH DPS, I have a macro which launches all 4 spells (Aero Bio 2 Bio Miamama) with buttons available if I need to interrupt macro.
For WHM DPS, it's the same but only 3 buttons for me for dps (Aero2 and Water is binded), Stone 2 and Holy.

As far as I can tell I'm also the only one to do so during London Fanfest haha. I was eyeing on what people were doing.

man i wasn't gonna post about what just happened in my low lvl roulette but what you said pretty much hit the nail on the head. it's more about caring.

in cutter's cry, me and mnk are doing ham damage, smn not doing well. whatever, people are learning in new dungeons. second boss in i take a look at his gear and uh he's pretty much in full 100+ gear. except his right side is almost all full mnd gear instead of int. accident or something else? i ask him about it after the boss after i realize he is quite literally using ruin only. no dots at all.

i don't really care that much if people aren't performing in dungeons. sometimes they just don't have the ability, they're new, whatever. but doing the shit this guy was doing and saying was unforgivable. and when i brought it up he just stood there pretty much afk. i almost wouldn't have even given a shit about his gear if he was still doing his completely basic rotation. but instead he feels like he gets to chill while the rest of us do the work? that's shit.

At least he was gracious enough to leave. I've had people that just stand there waiting for us to kick them after being "confronted".

Aoe in dungeons never really bothered me yet because I leveled blm and smn first so I just destroyed everything but now that I am leveling monk I am seeing all the usual suspect again. Smn that has doesnt have garuda on obey(though after he knocked back the mob I was going ham on for the second time I told him) and garuda just contagian a mob at 2% health with no dot on it. Blm that can't flare when the tank was kind enough to pull 8 mobs for you, healers calls him out and they get into it so healer just doesn't heal him anymore. It is very very sad when dps war and monk are doing more damage than smn and blm in 4+ mob packs.

Neverreap is just plain not fun.
It doesn't help that most of the time it seems like the tanks are content to just stand in the paths of the tornadoes in the first segment and don't bother to pull the trash out of the water spouts in the last segment.
I am not looking forward to running this nearly every roulette until 3.1 like I have the past few days.

Part of me hopes the esoterics cap is set to 300 like the ol' 2.0 days, except gear costs are scaled down with it. Getting 450 a week via daily expert started to grate on me late into 2.X, and then more-so when they doubled it to 900.

Not that im justifying low dps from SMN/BLM, but monk does very respectable AoE DPS now. Elixir field is quite good.
