On another note, Final coil is beginning to feel like the Final Coil of Ninja and Dragoon drops for my group. Our NIN, who is the only person up for DRG drops has an i117 DRG to go with his i117 NIN.

So much drama on my server among the top FCs. Got kicked tonight because I wouldn't fuck over my static to join a new group the FC is trying to form. This was 3 hours after an officer told me it was fine and I didn't have to leave. Yeah I'm not going to fuck over a group that took me in when my FC fucked me and them over at 2.4 launch (half the static was in the FC). Not the first they've forced out over this issue and probably won't be the last.

And random complaint for something stupid: Needing to equip another weapon to upgrade your relic. The whole NPC-interaction for relic shit in general is FFXI-tier convolution.

I find linkshells more suitable for building end game static's rather than FCs, and I think that was also their design philosophy.

I agree, but most FCs seem to force you to join their statics when you join them. I never had one in the FC I was forced out of because they were doing Coil without statics when I joined. (Mixing groups and using alts to fill gaps). They formed statics for 2.4 and didn't have a spot for me, then decided to take a member from second group to replace a guy in first group, take the raid leader from third group into second group, kick three from third group out the FC and completely disband the group stating no plans to rebuild it. They expected those without a group to sit doing nothing on Mumble for 16 hours a week to get our DKP (yeah lol). In reality the group stuck together as partial FC with the kicked people and me replacing the former raid leader but now the FC is blackmailing people into abandoning the group for a new group they're forming or to get out the FC. Not going to happen. Just general retarded shit that you'd expect better of from good players.

I don't get everyone's obsession with only raiding through FCs either. I understand for looking to make a name for themselves (that others can see, I guess?), but the more casual groups? Use a linkshell FFS. There are so many tiny 8 man raid FCs everywhere, it's incredible. I've only raided through linkshells in the past, they were fairly successful and the success had nothing to do with whether or not its an LS or FC group.

I'm trying to get a new group on Leviathan currently and having a hellish time doing so because of the "MUST JOIN FC RAWR" shit. The typical scenario is reply to recruitment message, explain situation, and get a NOPE! because of FC or join PF group looking for a fill in since a static is down a member, perform well, get potential invite to group and then NOPE! because of FC stuff again.

I just wanna kill dragons with the same 7 other people each week dammit.

I guess it all comes down to epeen. The people who run these FCs only care about the server firsts/seconds/tenths etc. and if you can't help them get that you're not needed. If they can't maintain that status then the revolving door just becomes an exit.

I'm not sure if I agree with this necessarily. I 'run' (for lack of a better term) a small FC, we have a house, blah blah, and even though it's not going this way in practice, the vision I had for things was a more inclusive environment in being able to depend on your fellow members to complete content (however bc of peoples scheduling it doesn't always work out in our example).

If things were intended to get done via linkshells/individually, then I question the point on SE's part for even creating the FC in the first place. Its a lot of effort to organize than it seems to be worth.

Most farm parties i join for Shiva EX end up wiping until someone starts bitching "is this a learning party or a farm?" then someone gets butthurt, leaves, and the group dissipates. It's hard to find that magic group of 7 other people who can pay attention.

Fame, I had alot of problems finding a group due to that

We've gotten a DRG drop in every FCoB kill and already duplicate DRG drops. We don't have a DRG main in our static.....

0 Fending drops of course, just like SCoB. Not sure why SE hates my PLD getting gear. (still missing HA pants with 40+ kills)

don't worry, we've gotten 4 DRG pieces with no drg (our PLD offspec is drg so of course his offspec is more geared than all of the rest of us)

this week we only got 2 new pieces (healer head, tank pants)

we've just been getting healing/fending, mostly right side pieces, couple of left side sprinkled in.

we're like 50+ t9 and have never seen body drop once
