Related complaint: I'm late to the party for sure but I haven't seen any Bismark clear parties in PF for a couple of days now. Kinda wish they put it in Duty Finder before 3.1 hits.
Except it's not......because ilvl is what determines an items stats.
Dreawyrm gear is 130, Aery gear is 136, Aery gear has more DEF, STR, VIT, etc.
The only reason I can think of that the sword/shield has less VIT is because of the screwy [main stat]/VIT progression that started with expansion gear 136+ (STR>VIT for a bit, then STR=VIT for a bit, then STR<VIT for a bit, repeat).
The "color" of the gear has a small effect on the permitted stat amounts as well. It's normally not noticeable because items are normally 5 or more ilvls apart, but in general blue/purple 135 > green 136 > white 139. I noticed it when I got a BLM staff drop from Sohm Al, was momentarily upset to part with my relic, then realized it wasn't time to part with my relic yet.
Lets see.....
Boring grindy dungeons that fill a low amount of your exp bar even with rested exp? Check.
Normal raid dungeon with lousy rng and drop? Check
Crafting with ridiculous costs that are barely economical? check.
Poorly priced gated armor usable on only one job that takes months to fully aquire? check.
I see no reasons to bother playing this game over ffxi right now they went apeshit with the lockouts and gated crap to the point its too long to even bother doing this stuff right now.
Might pick it up once yoshi and friends realise theyve gone too far with the gated crap.
Really hate when DPS don't focus fire on their target and make it harder on the Tank and other DPS to do dungeons quickly.
e.g.: Earlier today, running Halatali, Archer kiting everywhere, focusing on killing whoever he wants, not caring the tank was new, not caring about beating the dungeon quickly, in fact ignoring adds during boss fights, and refusing to do his job.
Dumb AF.
While true, it's just the stats are kind of weird. Same STR, same parry and crit (flipped) but lower vit? It could have been the same vit if they truly didn't want to make it better than 2.x gear. Then again...this game has weird itemization. I would quite BRD gear but BRD has always been in a weird design situation for bows and gear.
But then how parry!
No but for realsies, If its true theres no consistency in it.

Same I.lv, Same STR/VIT, different colors.
In XIV I just assumed the colors of the armor denoted their method Obtainment. White usually was crafted (some exceptions?), Green usually came from dungeons or (*) Synths, Pinks were the throw away low level gap bridger, and Blue was the "Endgame/Charity Endgame" sets. Since otherwise they have no distinguishing difference one would assume they would have. Purple being exclusively for the Relics. Because FFXIV is stupid as fuck when it comes to itemization anyway I just assume color coding was for idiots since it doesn't seem to determine anything otherwise.
Idk where this wierd rumor came from.
Color of the item has never had anything to do with its stats, it's just to make items looks and feel more special-er.
Stats are determined by ilvl and ilvl alone.
Look up any given slot at any given ilvl, aside from NQ crafted gear it will all have the same stats/caps.
It wasn't.
The only way it could have been was if you max melded DET to it since relics could cheat the normal secondary stat caps that way, but that's about it.
Otherwise poidh.
Game is unplayable for me right now. Constant 90ks and then even when I am playing just huge lag spikes. Like 1 second of movement then 10 seconds of spikes. I don't know what the fuck is going on
I see the ilvl 135 stuff as some sort of "reward" for clearing T13 and/or making a relic, hence it is slightly more "special" in that you don't replace it until about level 56
Gambanteinn: ilvl 136, MD 82, Vit 58, Int 58, Crit 37, SS 53
Lilith Rod Zeta: ilvl 135, MD 82, Vit 60, Int 57, Pie 8, Crit 26, Det 29, SS 26
Keep in mind I'd still be doing 2.x rotations at that point, so the Pie putting me over the 251 threshold for 5-Fire rotations instead of 4-Fire ones is worth the sacrifice of 2 Int-equivalent (1 actual Int and roughly 1 from the opportunity cost of the Pie over other secondaries).
