According to official forums though, ARR/HW is the most unique and interesting MMORPG to come out - This is why they purposefully avoid anything XI does to remain it's uniqueness amongst other MMOs that came out the past 10 years.

I'd say if they do the exact same shit for 3.2 you can pretty much give up on it changing before 4.0.

99% of the player base wants the story they couldnt access until very very very late after echos or on youtube

I imagine this new raiding format is here to stay until at least 4.0.

My only hope is that they'll throw more money/time at the next raid (since it's no longer content for the 1%) and release 5-6 bosses instead of 4. Not holding my breath though.

Yep, whenever you suggest adding one of the things that made FFXI fun you get the generic "Go back to play XI, the servers are still running" type of answers

Someone got nuked down to hell just for proposing us to be able to queue for more then 1 roulette at the same time, or queuing for the same roulette on 2 different roles

I want to believe that Yoshida wanted to make this game a good MMO, which he indeed did.

But with the generation of princesses or people that want instant and easy gratifications (both SE for fast money and players for fast achievements without putting in time) this game won't ever change sadly.

Also I feel like this game cost more money to play then XI does.

I remember in XI i was paying iirc 12.99 per month, but I could play almost like 20h per day and I still had stuff to do.

Now on XIV I pay 9.99 but i play much less then i played in XI (in a week ration) so even though i pay less per month, it feels more due to $/time spent in game

They are still running. They want their cake and eat it too, but they just can't. Most of them people though you know came to FFXI after or at Abyssea release and missed all the stuff that actually mattered.
