can i trade in law tome gear for seals yet?
Random complaint: Personally as someone who rarely ever gets coil/alex(sav) done early and struggle to beat final turns before echo I really can not stand the order they implemented it this time. It was really fun for me to see people in gear that I have never seen or check out vids of bosses I have never seen and not really understanding what is going on. The surprise factor was cool and seeing the exclusive gear was cool too. Now you basically see every boss and own all the gear before you even get to end game. Again personally this seemed like they broke down and catered to the cry baby coil needs story mode threads and went even further and gave them the gear too. Not to mention you basically have run these fights 50+ times or more before you even get in there :/
Nailed it.
The reusing of bosses and gear is pretty terrible.
Was talking about that exact issue with a friend the other day.
There's literally nothing to *ahem* look forward to, we've seen everything the content has to show us (fights, mobs, flashy attacks, gear), so now we're just doing it again with actual DPS checks and optional mechanics turned into wipe mechanics.
Everyone's already seen everything, there's no major reveals like walking out onto a battlefield only to realize you're standing on Bahamut's enormous outstretched hand or taking victory SSs in front of his gigantic head or finally tracking down Louisoix and then having to fight him to an incredibly atmospheric soundtrack, then being rewarded with essentially an extension of the opening FMV that shows us what really happened.
It certainly doesn't help that the entire Alex "story" was pitifully uninteresting, it was the same "hey primal, go kill primal, ok killed primal" shit drawn out into 4 fights except Alex wasn't even a character like the other primals and the goblins just make everything seem like a joke.
This would all be fixed if they'd just add an Alex Savage Story Mode
I like the idea of an ASS Mode.
everyone realizes that was a joke right
right
yes
Yep, doesn't change the fact our progression and anything interesting got ruined because of people too afraid to git gud that sadly makes up the biggest part of the playerbase. As said, yes there was indeed a topic on a story mode for savage alexander because they assume the story is vastly different and they don't want to be locked out,
I wonder if these same people whine about being locked out of sidestory in offline games.
The real issue w/this in my opinion is not that we have seen it all before we step into savage mode, but its that we have seen it all 100000x before savage mode was released. Due to a shit loot system most people were stuck doing each turn 5-7x+ each week. And while they fixed the loot system to some extent its still terribly boring going in there each week. So I view it more as fight fatigue just from seeing it so much.
That was never really an issue in 2.0 coil since until the fights were unlocked you only did them 1x per week so they never really got old (at least not as fast) and stayed enjoyable for the most part
It's like the devs are so stuck following this 1 2 3 content formula that they forgot what fun is and how their game is supposed to be it.
It might tip dangerously in the FFXI category, where you may have a variety of content or have to...work together/with your community outside of not being the one that causes an immediate wipe. So I think they're content since reading OF you'd think there's no problems with XIV considering how fast people try to run off anyone who brings up a concern.
Why is the gathering log so godddamn useless.
You would think, maybe, a LOG designed to record INFORMATION about GATHERING would record shit like the time an item's unspoiled node spawns.
It's retarded that in a game with a gathering log I have to copy the actual useful info from a website and paste it into a macro.
At least give us an area for notes ffs, I was going through the same frustration flipping through three websites for shit because the game doesnt tell you nada
