I know, but what I'm saying is in order for the client to know what mobs to render at such a large distance it has to know what mobs exist outside the normal rendering distance.
If the client knows what mob IDs exist beyond the current rendering distance to be able to distinguish between hunt mobs and regular mobs then the information is already being sent and the client just doesn't render the models of non-hunt mobs.
I'm not sure what kind of an answer you're looking for, since I feel like it was already answered. The server probably decides what mobs your client knows about, and that hunts probably work somewhat differently than normal trash (your client is informed of them at a longer distance than normal trash).
• Why can't I see more monsters? Because the server didn't tell you about them.
• Why can I see this one monster that's further than normal distance? Because the server decided it was important.
I'm just regurgitating what I've read over the last page or two; I can't claim to know how this shit actually works in the background
Having horrible lag issues again, it seems like every other maint breaks my whole game.
Game stops for ~10 seconds every 30 seconds or so, makes it extremely difficult/frustrating to get anything done.
I just have a hard time believing they came up with a method of sending mob info in such a way that allows only specific mob IDs to be sent at greater than normal distances, rather than just the client receiving the IDs and just rendering the mobs at whatever distance they're flagged to be rendered at.
All things considered, I just don't buy SE being that clever.

Like I said, with XIV Backstep they went with a weird direction with the client an server design. The fact if increasing inventory ever so slightly would cause them to crash in this day and age..something is off in some fashion. it's like when I played FLYFF with my GF I can see all the enemies in the distance ready to raoe me but there is a barrier of sorts in all MMOs just to create less of a stress on the machines...but with XIV it seems they're overly cautious or they simply..can't due to the engine. But who knows.
As I said before, with PS2 and XI they seemed to have managed certain things that's been deemed impossible or dangerous to do in XIV.
Also:
Unless I've missed a memo or movement...is SMN too good now that idiots are out to ruin it's reputation? Or is SMN auto attacking the boss while DPSing the new thing? Had one that auto attacked in every content yesterday (DF or PF) even in Savage Alex 2 in a group I was helping out while waiting for mine to come on.
Auto-attack on SMN is, and has always been, free damage. Now, if they're not doing anything else, that's obviously a problem, but during T8 progression, I told our mages to autoattack because they were standing right there, they may as well get some free damage in.
I'm leveling SMN right now, and I try to book-smack the mobs when I think about it.
If you're a mage and not in melee range smacking a boss with the hard part of a book you aren't doing it right
Got rejected from joining a savage static because PLD sucks. Looks like it's time to pick up a Greatsword.
I can't decide which job to play on my alt so I'm still using 180 Law weapon, but it's funny to still be doing more damage on MCH with an i180 weapon than the drooling masses in Alex normal with their i200 weapons.

Kind of why people on OF lost their shit on me when I said unless they're doing Savage they don't need those i200+ weapons because it's not going to help them as is since they can barely scrape by bismarck ex.
power went out durring craft, doesnt even matter what craft because even sub 60 shit tier recipes take thousands of mats to make.
I just noticed that literally every Esoteric DPS weapon has skill speed or spell speed on it.
Cute.
Mr. Candonowrong Yoship did say Skill and Spell speed will SIGNIFICANTLY CHANGE THE BATTLE SYSTEM IN 3.0! So there's a good possibility the shit was drafted up and designed before they decided 3.0 wasn't worth having actual evolution to it.
Like seriously though. DRK does not need anymore SS.
I hate DF Warriors. Every single time he hit zerk. I would love it if SE made their pacification undispellable because I'm both lazy, and because WAR is crunk enough as it is in the right hands.
