While we're on the note of extraneous law, is a full 170 set enough for combat retainers to max out their chimera mane yield or do I need to spend on some upgrades too?
Yea, what am I thinking, I could be using all those precious seals to buy......................
Don't even need that iirc. But you can also spend law on the upgrade stuff, idk if that was always like that.
Yeah. Personally I glam a gray set of ilv 150 stuff and the pre-imperial Garlean revolver on my MCH. I like the look and the collar on the body lacks the brooch that clips my face while engaged, I'm pretty disappointed that my hair clips my MCH shirt so I glam'd over it. =/ On WHM (and eventually SCH/AST) I have the full Bogatyr's set glamoured with Baldur weapon. Not sure what or if I'll glam weapons on SCH or AST but the lv 55 SCH book and Baldur AST weapon are what I'm looking at atm.
WHM 60, MCH 60 (best geared), SCH 56, AST 34. Dreading MNK because I suck at it but I suppose it's at 50, it's time to learn, no?
EDIT: For my MCH, I kinda asked myself "If there was a MCH Scion, what would they wear?" I figured it'd be gear that looks kinda generic but slightly different and a gun model that no other NPC really uses. Most use the Carbine type guns while a certain one uses a Blue Steel so I went with the black revolver.
Fun Fact: If you look closely, VERY closely, you can see rounds in the revolver cylinder. IIRC two rounds are visible on each side, given the spacing I'd assume a 6-shooter.
Yea we talked about that in the retainer thread, every fish retainers can gather 1-50 was a crafting mat, of the ones they can gather 50-60 only 2 are.
I suppose for a random complaint, I don't think a character's body parts should clip armor. On some gear my hair clips collars unless hidden with headgear (GC uniforms, Auroral Tabard and it's look-alikes, MCH Shirt collar...) on others, my hands clip around my hips. I can understand weapons clipping gear like my Gauss Barrel clipping my pouch on my current glamour or my hands/some gloves clipping my aether-box. That's gear clipping gear, I think a character's body shouldn't clip gear.
They could, for example, make certain hair shorten slightly with some body pieces and make models hold their hands out slightly wider in neutral standing stance for gear that clips hands.
Some clipping is hard to avoid. In the case of hair, physics can fix that. But..

The dev team can't have any overtime.
Need to hire some more 3D modelers and can't provide the funds to them at the moment.
Game would push ram requirements higher, so RAM limitations.
:]
Yeah, for now I just wear stuff to avoid it. I have a few sets I like that don't clip.
Nah man that's too easy. Let's do it the way we do retainers. 10 bucks a month.
Savant's Overcoat has 12 extraneous butt-books which behave like fabric
At least they all have an actual title (Nymian Stratagems)
Crafting collectibles.
Forget to turn on collectible synthesis after changing jobs to craft more mats.
Multiple times.
I have just stopped playing altogether. I don't care about raiding, grinding Eso/Alex is repetitive and boring and I don't even need the gear for anything because I'm not raiding. I refuse to buy into the scrips system because it's an even worse, more boring grind than the one for gear. Recently started playing FF Record Keeper on my phone and that sadly feels like it has more content/is at least more fun to grind in than their damn current moneymaker MMO. Being thrilled with HW has quickly turned into being disgusted with it now that I'm completely out of story and sidequests and anything that was actually interesting or could be considered new content. I think they made a horribly wrong decision with the scrips/esoterics gear system, both the limited ways to acquire the currencies and the forced job specialization. Square, please unfuck your game.
Agreed, though I do raid a day or two here and there so that gives me a reason to still log on every now and then. Really though they fucked up crafting/raiding and the eso grind pretty solid.
SE has actually taken a step backwards in terms of offering gears to us, with red scripts blocking crafted gear
at the same time, it does make crafting more useful now...
hard to strike balance i guess
