You're all right. It's that DoT. I guess I'm a deadman every time then.

Or you can tether the healer, healer gets stunned, tank stuns the Tail and burn it before stun immunity is a thing.
I got kicked from DF for the first time ever in A4 for not calling out my letter whenever I got quarantined.
Queued right back up and got another DF that just ran in without assigning letters and we oneshot it.

LOL god makes me not want to do alex at all ever again
I partially DF'd my alex normal drops for the first time last week, never gave people an opportunity to mark or call letters and we cleared perfectly fine every time, but the mad is hilarious. I had some BLM get furious at me and call me terrible because I wasn't eating orbs as the OT (was queued with a healer buddy so it was completely unnecessary), cleared with no issues and I did 350 more DPS than the BLM when I was on DRK, what a fucking surprise that that's the kind of player who wants to try and call out others.
yeah shit is pretty funny. at the same time though i understand the mentality. when you're used to a very specific way of doing things and having only had success with that way, being completely disrupted from that can be terrifying.
unfortunately the players who don't understand that that kind of change is what makes you better, are the ones who stay stuck in mediocrity.
Yeah, I can see why they do it, but it really is unnecessary and perhaps even detrimental to assign specific players to a spot when all you really have to do is just fucking kill them. Makes it even faster when healers throw out a few nukes instead of standing there whining about being impaled while they spam AoE regens.
Edit: Said fuck it and just went PLD and tanked the adds. Just got a DF party that called out letters when there wasn't any fucking waymarks. What in the literal fuck.
Never doing A4 DF again.
Your explanation is like the opposite of what I would say. Overall feels like Nevereap has more packs of mobs with less ability to make big pulls, has the section with the bees, ground hazards that are mildly annoying. The bosses are way more annoying than Fractal. All 3 Fractal bosses are almost entirely "Just DPS the shit out of it til it dies," and as a SCH the fairy heals a large majority of the fights. Nevereap first boss wastes a lot of time running around, second boss with the totems, third boss with invuln. I think the biggest annoyance is that even when you get massively overgeared, Nevereap still takes a similar amount of time to clear, you don't skip much. Fractal allows you to skip a whole lot more than you did at entry ilvl.
I've never not done Alexander Normal in DF, I just ignore people. Being a healer covers most of the issues though. The markers don't matter much, as long as I go nuke the shit out of whichever one is getting no attention. If they put ignore markers on healers heads though, I take them off, because I'm kind of a dick.
Yes I'd consider Fractal a lot less annoying and gimmicky than Neverreap.
fractal's way less annoying. but that's why i like neverreap. max troll factor forever and so delicious when your friends eat 3 tornadoes in a row
I still sorta use "letters" when I go with my FC. 2 dps (Melee usually) get the add close to the leg, 2 dps (range) get the add towards the entrance, and the MT grabs the add far away and brings it to the leg. No matter who gets quarantined, the add is covered and it dies quick. At our gear level though probably faster to just have the healer pull it all with an AoE heal then burn all that shit down together. I also tell the OT to just ignore orbs since healers and range can usually take care of it unless the orbs spawn right next to the melee.
I much prefer Neverreap, but I can't really conceptualize why
Fuck Neverreap
Neverreap: 7 pulls, 3 bosses.
Fractal: 8 pulls, 3 bosses. (Can do less pulls I think but I can't remember where the dumb barriers are located.)
Neverreap clearly bettah.
Confirmed Lokus only plays in premades
Edit for context:
First island full clear.
Second island small animals = 1 pull, Wamoura = 2nd pull.
Boss
Third island gated pull-> Bees + Tree-> then gate for 3 pulls total.
Boss
Fourth "island" gated pull->dhamels->gate for 3 pulls total unless you know for a fact you can pull those dhamels to the 2nd gate and not have a wipe.
Boss
If you guys are pulling all of Island 2 and all of island 3 then I need some of whatever data center you're living on.
The letter thing isn't bad on it's own. In some ways it's a good idea, but considering the general skill level of the playerbase (poor), applying extra coordination when it isn't necessary in duty finder is just generally a terrible idea. "Go hit this" and "Do this mechanic" should be as far as it should go.
Premades/FC Parties should just do what works for them.
First island full clear.
Second island full clear.
Boss
Clear first set for gate. partial clear second set. (Hold left wall to ignore second set of bees.) 2 pulls total.
Boss
Fourth "island" gate pull->gate for 2 pulls total.
Boss
Yes, neverreap is much easier on pulling
I did not know about ignoring the bee's on the right, thanks for that tip, When tanking I ask the healer if they are comfortable to pull full 2nd island and proceed to do so if they are cool with it.
