I like the part of Hinterlands where one breed of trees won't block the camera but another kind will. Also leveling a tank reminded me just how fucking terrible the camera is when you're near a wall. Nope, can't pull the camera back through the wall for convenience sake because god forbid you see their maps are primarily designed of a few hundred rock platforms stacked/clipped into each other.
There's also the issue where XIV still uses that last-gen checkerbox transparency effect with no options for something modern on PC.
Probably bad experiences with tanks who do not AOE threat. I've met a few of those, where I simply could not get one flare off without 5 mobs turning on me, on every damn pull. You start trying to figure out how to work with a tank like that, since telling them to use flash/OP/Drk AOE(forget name) more will probably get you kicked. On the other hand, I have played with 1 BLM that decided I was going to be the AOE Mage, while he Fire IVs everything. Really?
lol, i did a chrysalis today and for the life of me i couldn't not understand how the blm was doing 50 dps, but i wasn't really watching him.
at some point i'm standing next to him and i notice a peculiar spell animation and i realize what it is and check his spellbar to confirm. he's been spamming fire 2 on the boss the entire time.
i tell him to switch and he tells me someone told him fire 2 does more dmg. lol.
^ And people say video games these days have too much tutorial.
*Sees winners of hair style announced*
*Scrolls down to first image. Oh, that's a cute hairstyle for females*
*Looks up, oh its for men*
*facepalm* Pompadour was the only valid choice for the guys thew glamours would have been God Tier. I don't mind the female one that won.
Minor gripe: Having to gimp myself a bit during leveling my Drk because I refuse to wear the Holy Rainbow Set of Fending. Going from Ironworks Awesomeness to a fucking half buttoned shirt is kinda stupid.
Glamour that shit.
Well, just looked it up, and I don't think Grade 3 Glamour Prisms are all that expensive.
Another ye olde complaint:
No option to display only First/Last names without an accompanying initial.
Full names are often too long and Name+Initial just looks awkward (and the initial is virtually never necessary).
Tanks who don't realize bosses like to queue up attacks before they start moving, so they run back to the boss to let them queue up more shit so they continue to not move when the tank tries to pull them away for the second time.
I wonder if we were in the same Chrysalis. I got into an in progress Chrysalis with less than 30 mins left.
As I enter one of them say they votekicked the WHM because he couldn't heal for shit so I prepare myself for the worst but this isn't what I expected.
3 DPS and the OT die constantly because they can't bother to alternate the balls even after being told repeatedly. We die a few times. I manage to raise everyone before the final phase every single time. Even the BRD that die which I then Swiftcast+Raise to have him stay in the orange line and get one shotted once more. I notice that only 1 of the DPS can do over 100 dps and we can never get the tear past 50% HP even with LB.
We vote abandon with 10 mins left.
And that's why you never, ever, ever, ever check in-progress for Trials.
Quote to live by lol.
I did the roulette DF and ended up doing Steps of Faith. I told the OT I will tank Vishap, and that we need 2 others on cannons to kill ads and rest need to DPS Vishap down asap. I tell him his job only is to steer the ads on the SIDES where the cannons are. This guy instead grabs the ads and runs underneath Vishap, doesn't listen to my warnings and the mobs just scatter after he loses hate/control, ads proceed to destroy the cannons and everyone else around. After Vishap wipes out the entire fight, he goes "I took them under boss, like you said!"
....
Fuck DF Trials, right in the face. It's one thing if I didn't give any directions whatsoever, and just started to fight.
Not sure what you're even talking about. 1 tank goes on Vishap and handles adds, 2nd tank goes on a cannon. Any other way is part of the reason that fight in DF is so bad.
