FFXIV Random Complaint Thread II: DPS can't count to potato

Oh, I usually always finish it either way but nobody was attacking Vishap at all.

Tanks who don't realize bosses like to queue up attacks before they start moving, so they run back to the boss to let them queue up more shit so they continue to not move when the tank tries to pull them away for the second time.

If I'm reading this right, when you need to move a boss you just run where you want to move them and wait for them to get whatever they have in their system out of it.

Not sure what you're even talking about. 1 tank goes on Vishap and handles adds, 2nd tank goes on a cannon. Any other way is part of the reason that fight in DF is so bad.

Unless that tank is doing 5x more damage than the lowest dps. *cough*

I did the roulette DF and ended up doing Steps of Faith. I told the OT I will tank Vishap, and that we need 2 others on cannons to kill ads and rest need to DPS Vishap down asap. I tell him his job only is to steer the ads on the SIDES where the cannons are. This guy instead grabs the ads and runs underneath Vishap, doesn't listen to my warnings and the mobs just scatter after he loses hate/control, ads proceed to destroy the cannons and everyone else around. After Vishap wipes out the entire fight, he goes "I took them under boss, like you said!"

Er, yea that's not how you do the fight.

No one "tanks" Vishap, he doesn't attack.

One tank mans a cannon, the other gathers the adds between Vishaps front legs so the cannons can take them out while hitting Vishap's hitbox as well.

Healer(s) should be staying between his front legs, adds automatically converge on said healer, tank takes them off while cannons kill them.

Well apparently everyone does it differently because I have defeated Vishap this way. I had people sayin that you need to take adds to the sides in other runs. I usually gather the ads and take them towards cannons, the people on cannons couldn't aim underneath vishap and hit them both for some reason in this last run I am talking about.

Either way I do it, I have never seen Steps of Faith failed and that was just... holy shit not even close.

The side thing makes no sense. You're just making it harder to hit everything at once

This is why when I load into the fight as my DRK I say this:

"I'll take the adds under vishap. You 2nd tank, don't bother with them. Don't even try to provoke Vishap or try to get hate on him. Like senpai, vishap doesn't give a fuck about you. He won't notice you."

Without saying anything I make it pretty clear I'm the primary DPS to burn down Vishap.

Or just let the healer aggro the adds and kite them at the start since they all despawn later anyway.

And that's why you never, ever, ever, ever check in-progress for Trials.

Haven't had trials that bad, but I stopped checking in progress fo trials because i got tired of getting into one where 20 people leave from it lol. I wasted an hour in three separate trials that way once.

Earlier today I went into Alex normal on my alt with a premade party. SCH and 4 DPS. We did like 15 runs to get everyone their stuff. And in all of them at least one of the randoms went "OMG! HOLY SHIT! THE DEEPS! WE'RE SO FAST!" and we weren't even going all out. It just blows my mind how bad the average dps in DF is. Couple of days ago I was tanking an expert on WAR and a buddy was on his SCH. And throughout the entire dungeon the NIN and DRG were suckin each others dicks about how awesome their dps was and how fast we're getting throgh the dungeon.... while their accumulative damage was same as mine + SCH. But what pisses me off most about it that they will remain ignorant until the end of their pathetic careers as dps, because SE will never ever introduce an ig parse...

No, I can top that. My wife just hit 50 on DRG and went into WoD with just the Ironworks Lance and iLvl 90 DRG armor. Was 4th highest DPS in alliance. had literally been 50 for less than an hour.

I did a Steps a week or two ago where we failed every mechanic, adds were running rampant, only one person on cannons, missed all but the first dragonkiller, at least one DPS walked back after a death.

We wiped at 2%. How is it even possible to be that stupid, and still come so close?

It's always fun when someone doesn't wait on snares for the 2nd/3rd dragon killer (god forbid it's not already dead long before then), then half the party gets one-shotted when Vishap dodges the killer and slams back onto the bridge.

Didn't SE says they were working on a training ground area where you can see the amount of damage you did individualy?

I thought they were working on an ingame method of seeing how much damage you're doing against a dummy.

Either way I wouldn't trust what gets posted until there's some video/picture evidence of what they got planned.

I don't know if you will be able to see dmg, but at least you'll be able to figure what you're doing wrong in terms of basics.
