It was stated there would be a training ground where you can practice your rotation while handling mechanics, such as dodging AoEs.

So we either all have a different understanding of what was said, or different things were said all together. Altho, a training ground putting you against ingame mechanics and displaying what you do wrong in term of mechanics & DPS (showing numbers) would greatly benefit the whole playerbase.
Something like this should have been implented with Titan EX, and its even more relevant now since we get DPS checks right & left, a bit of math could help them create individual battles with a mini DPS check for training purpose.
It's an evolution of sorts:
Yoshi said there would be a parser like system added to dummies so you can see your numbers.
Then he said there will be a training ground of sorts.
But it's the same dude who said we'll summon primals as a FC after we go out into the world and find their instance, which will be roaming around and the first benchmark for ARR was what the actual system would look like. I mean, the fact that Garuda's rocks are enemies per game data means it could spawn with her whereever and all mechanics would still function properly but eh. The training ground thing is more recent than the test dummy thing.
Well, that all sounds fancy n stuff... I just doubt that ppl will make any use of it. Because "I PLAY TEH WAY I WANT!"

One of my friend pretty much said the same thing with a degree of variation, it was more like: "Bad players will never use anything like that because they don't care about being bad or are unaware of it, while good players will spend countless of hours trying to improve anything that could be improved."
But apparently even Japanese players start to be really fed up with him, as what an OF user said, Evtrai was his/her username if I recall. so lets see, or even more like... Lets look forward to it.
Another one that I got a kick out of. I was bored this weekend, and I saw a PF for Turn 7. I haven't done the fight at all since Heavensward, so I joined up as their last DPS. Turns out, probably 5/8 people knew nothing of the fight. Offtank was attempting to pick up the renauds until I yelled at him. Yes, first renaud was killed. He then didn't bother to pick up the first set of adds until yelled at again. Healers didn't always aim at the renaud stack, so at one point one woke up. Near the end, Melusene got up to 11 stacks.
We one shot it. ( ╯º _ º )╯︵ ┻━┻
Because the crybabies on OF will complain they pay x a month and should be able to suck in content and waste everyone's time if they want to and yoshi being the nice guy that he is, will heed to their complaints. They tried to separate the playerbase numerous times (AK, Titan HM/EX, Steps of Faith, Ramuh, Binding Coil) and it worked until people started crying they didn't want to git gud.
nitpicking but steps doesn't belong in that list. just that the portion of the playerbase that never did any ex primal or coil type content showed up to finish the story and access ishgard.
Just 2 different conversations, that's all.
In one, people ask for a way to measure their DPS. Yoshi says they might do it.
In another, people say it's really annoying to have to do the whole first half of a fight each time they want to practice last phase. Yoshi says they'll look at implementing a training room where you can select a phase to practice. Think of it like being able to select post-heavensfall on T9 to work on.
Almost no relation/connection between the 2 conversations.
hence why there needs to be real content for FCs with flexible party/ally size setups that isnt easy to beat and gives a reason to be in a FC with more then max 8 peeps, so you can avoid those people. This is the reason why you can avoid PUGs alltogether in 11 and roll your way as a Linkshell.
Well it doesnt matter, the whole system atm is garbage in 14 to no end. from gearing up to lvling jobs to endgame stuff.
Two years later, one update which touched upon self-repair convenience, and we still don't have a "Repair bloody everything in my armoury/inventory" option.
I just can't seem to beat A1S with a PUG with PLD, and I just can't seem to make it easier.
Our cooldowns can't sustain the continous damage, Clemency and Stoneskin constantly get interrupted, and I can't heal myself like the other tanks can. Rampart and Conval can only do so much
It's like I have no control over this fight at all. It literally feels like there's nothing I can do to empower my team.
And special "fuck you" to Clemency getting interrupted four times in a row.
Read this from a lodestone blog..
"I am here to enjoy a game. I've made it my mission to do so. If you see me in your parties, you may wonder why I'm not using skills like Fire IV, Blizzard IV, Blood of the Dragon. Well, it's because I'm just wanting to enjoy the game, not be some hardcore DPS maniac. Feel free to comment below with what you think about this decision."
Fuck you sir.
