You didn't say a day..you just had to hit them home hard and say a week.

ACC adds nothing to the game other than restricting what gear you can wear, and when you only have a whopping 2 options already that's just ridiculous.

2 options and the secondaries barely do shit, it's beyond pointless to have ACC.

It's a good idea on paper, and frankly it worked when we only managed one group. But when your members were dominantly 10 PM EST on Saturday, it did fuck all to help anyone who wanted to raid earlier in the day, let alone on different days. Trying to add another group made things a nightmare because suddenly that buffer for replacements were gone and we had to start reaching out through PF and recruitment threads. That didn't really work either.

Really, this entire conversation only tells me I should've been a lot more demanding as a leader instead of attempting to be a teacher, which I won't disagree with. But that's something I would've liked to have avoided.

Edit: Reason for this because my FC is not endgame-oriented. We're all friends in our FCs and we communicated well. We joke around, don't get mad at each other etc.. We were mainly a relaxed FC and we wanted that mentality for savage as well. If I need to flip a switch and start barking at people, that's a major mood killer and that would've caused my group implode harder than me just leaving.
I don't think this is the case, but I feel like you're somewhat implying that you can't be good friends with people in a more hardcore or end game focused environment because it's serious and being lighthearted goes against that? While I will admit when I formed the FC I did specifically write provisions in our rules to weed out the "riff-raff" and dictate what's supposed to be done when someone isn't up to snuff, I believe part of the reason my FC is still together is because we generally like each other. I met about half of my raid group during open beta/early access and just knew them as voices on Team Speak, now 4 of them are coming to my wedding IRL just over 2 years later. My group specifically has been together since 2.0 launch and hasn't ever had serious threat of dissolving because our core cares about each other and genuinely enjoys wanting to play together, even if sometimes we have extremely high expectations for one another that can create a lot of additional stress when lumped ontop of someone's RL obligations.

Don't get me wrong, it's a lot of fucking work... I feel like I spend a lot of my time playing a therapist and the other part disciplining people for what I think should be common sense. Is it hard to have to occasionally bust someone's balls for something and possibly risk them taking it the wrong way? Of course it is, but since we had clearly defined goals that match up, they just know that myself and the other officers are doing our best to try and keep those goals in sight, and that it's not personal.

I agree with what Kaiyoko and Kharlyn said, having goals and making sure everyone is on board with those goals is extremely important. Otherwise people come in expecting differing things, then some get disappointed while others are content and things fall apart.

Agree with removing accuracy. Didn't WoW do that at some point because they realized it's not a fun stat?
The only problem is that without accuracy, we have even less stats to gear. I would love to see accuracy removed alongside giving us new, interesting gear options and stats. Maybe one day.

Same. Before Heavensward came out, I had around 10m, and now I have 20m without even really trying. I have all of these crafts leveled and shit and they're pretty much useless outside of making pots/food for my raid. Crafting (outside of red scrips being more Allagan Tomestone BS that I hate) is really fun and there's...no reason for me to do it because outside of making stuff for myself and friends, there's no point. Profit is just raising my Gil for the sake of the number going up.

This raid scene is rough. My group has spent most of this patch trying out players rather than actually getting anywhere in A3S. A lot of raiders server hopped to Gilgamesh so the pool is already tiny, and asking people to server hop to TRY OUT for a mid-core group is dumb. We barely ever find players to try out, and most of the ones we find are just not suited for raiding. For a while we thought it would be too hopeless to look for a "perfect" group and just ran with some underperformers, but recently most of the group decided it would be better to replace them and just not raid until we find the right guys.

I'd feel much better if we had better cross-server interactions. Cross server party finder, cross server friends list, whatever. Let some guy from Gilgamesh join our party and enter the raid with us at minimum. Feels really shitty to have difficult raids and seemingly small pools of potential talent. I'd rather go through a ton of tryouts than sit there for 1-3 weeks before we find a WAR just to find out he does 500 DPS as OT.

Or just rework how ACC goes so rather than flat out missing, you deal a weaker hit. At least that way your combos wouldn't get fucked, and being ever so slightly under the cap won't muder your performance when you're still gearing.
    Spoiler: show
And I can DPS more lazily without a fuckton of acc melds on my SCH

Was one of the magical things about my static before we exploded. And we didn't even all form at the same time. We got a new WHM every new tier of Coil/Alex for IRL reasons every time. Lost a tank, lost a SCH, had a SCH have to become a tank, etc. People who got super mad / butthurt for any reason just left of their own accord. Rest of us liked to set personal milestones (DPS DPS DPS WARDPS SCHDPS DPS, clear before catchup patch) but otherwise, chill as fuck.

Like, you could have fooled me into thinking at one time that getting into and maintaining a raid static was not that hard because my first one survived from T5 to 3.0.

So, decided to say fuck it and try favors for the first time. Never again...

I used two favors and got a grand total of 4 wyvern's warts and a dragon's wart. This is after it was supposedly buffed. All I wanted to do was try and craft an OH, but I need 20 of those plus another 20 reds just to get my mats.

Like wtf... how did people ever defend this shit?

I purposely avoided doing them until they buffed them, even then I haven't done them much. Just a tip, deplete 4 nodes (2 sets of 2 nodes) down to 1 swing remaining before popping the favor. Pop favor and you have 4 much quicker chances at the special node. Ideally you should make sure the +Gathering Attempts node is one of the ones you deplete. Also, don't feel obligated to finish the special nodes, I always took the items and ignored the clusters. I never tested if depleting a special node gave you a chance at another one, but I'm assuming that it doesn't.

Hopefully if they intend to keep doing this, they buff the amount received or nerf the amount needed. I stopped doing red scrip purchases altogether (just letting it stack up atm) because there's no reason to gear crafters/gatherers until new recipes are out anyways, and the current progression is really dumb.

Favors are bullshit. I just boycott them by refusing to do any crafter/gatherer activities from now on. Gil is easy enough to make to buy the shit I want from the poor souls who ARE putting up with the favor system for their own masochistic reasons, and obviously I don't need the gear from it if I'm not crafting/gathering. It's just sad how bad they can fuck up the idea of fun.

1 thing, the supposed buff was more about the time it'd take you to get those mats. If you think it's bad now think of when it took 3x as long to get the same result.

Also TIL as a healer without any extra accuracy you don't even cap acc in expert roulette. :/

I wish they'd give us some indication that they're aware that the red scrip situation is absolute shit.

I've been collecting all my red scrips weekly still, but I'm just hoarding them. I think I probably have 50+ red crafter scrips at this point.

    Carried a DRG through fractal...

The run was 45min. Unfortunately, I had some bad luck with the last boss...sigh, but I was happy when the DRG died. LOL the WHM wouldn't raise her. When the fight ended, she kept slapping her.
DRG is like "good job :D" and I'm saying to myself.. "BITCH I CARRIED YOUR ASS WITH MY SLOW ASS SPELLS >.<"

The tank is all cool and relaxed about it, probably expected it was gonna be slow from the beginning.

This is how you know when a DRG sucks, while on BLM. WHEN IT FEELS LIKE YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE DOING DAMAGE.

I started doing favors last week--did all 45 of them, averaging 20 dorps per scrip/5 favors. That's enough to buy eight (4BTN/4MIN/sell or stash the last set) splendor vendor materials to craft four accessories or three tools/armor in one week.

That's far more efficient than buying the gear straight from the vendor with scrips, except you have to pay for it later with materia melds.

Oh sure you can do it, but was it actually fun gathering that shit? That's where the issue comes in. We put up with a lot of grind and busywork in this game to cover lack of content, but some grinds are more bearable than others. Your mileage may vary, I guess. Personally I find scrip grinding to be the worst kind of headache-inducing time waster the game has to offer.

Blue crafting scrips I felt were tuned properly. Red crafting ones aren't too terrible either. But the gathering grinds they added in 3.0 are something else entirely. Honestly, if the gathering grinds weren't so bad the whole entire system wouldn't be so bad.
