Just had the entire animation for Elixir Field play out start to finish followed by the "you cannot use this ability yet blah blah" with it still being ready afterwards (least I didn't lose it I guess).
Followed by the entire animation for Demolish going off and getting the same damned message, but ofc by the time I noticed it I was using Bootshine and got screwed out of GL -_-
On the other hand I've got like.....almost no Mudra lag while on NIN, so there's that?
Been leveling monk, and every time I get a hint of lag I ask myself why MNK haven't been updated to be like DRG where the combo proc shows immediately when the server verifies the attack, rather than post-animation.
At least that way your queued attack wouldn't get screwed as frequently since the client is retarded and whines that you're not in the right stance when you are on the server's end due to client checking late in the gcd.
[EDIT] RMT getting this annoying-ass habit lately where if I don't blist them, they'll spam me again on the same character a minute later.
I had this in A1S last night on Dragoon. The first sign was B4B not coming out, but I figured I must have just missed the key and timing(BotD+B4B). However, the next skill is Chaos thrust...and I heard that signature wha-wha sound that it makes. But I didn't get button number 4(wheeling/F&C). Okay whatever, 1 BotD lost. Next rotation though, I get the BotD, get the F&C, and pop GK. Tell me, how do you lag so that OGCD does the animation and the skill doesn't come out?? Just like your Elixir Field, I did the full GK animation complete with the energy blast only to see 0 numbers fly up. I'm okay with lagging and dropping a combo(...) but to not have OGCD come out? Come on now....
That shit happens all the time and has since launch with EU ping, NO SYMPATHY.
yea that's how my game has run without pingzapper for months, and it runs that way even with pingzapper if it's right before/after an update.
I had episodes of that with my connection although I'm only a few hundred miles from my data center. Full on 10s+ lock up. WTFast pretty much prevented me from having to quit the game.
I thank god everyday I don't have these experiences
man, i remember when coil first came out, and then final coil. the raid lag was borderline unplayable sometimes.
doing dive bombs in t5 and dodging the cones in t11 was a nightmare. it always went away, but only after months had passed. surprisingly i didn't get any of that in alex savage.
You're lucky because we've been having pretty nasty lag spikes and packet losses while doing Savage lately. Nothing more fun that seeing your WHM bolt from behind you with a tank debuff out of nowhere right after Wash Away or your Warrior TPing all over the place with the boss still attached to him. Tetras/Lustrates completely failing to go through have been happening as well. I really enjoy Alexander (Savage) (Savage).
FFXIV is a $25/mo subscription. Its sad I have to pay an extra $10 just to enjoy it without lagging to shit.
On another note. WHAT IN THE FUCKING FUCK. Another queue, another fucking retard. Got queued into Sastasha (Hard) with a level58 Scholar who also has a level60 WHM.
I split the leg of adds into two pulls. Went smooth as could be.
First boss. Tail Screw goes out and one of the DPS died. Second tailscrew and healer goes down.
[23:36](Satori Komeiji) The dot needs to get leeched
[23:36](Satori Komeiji) Tail screw will reduce 1-3 people's HP to 1
[23:36](Maeve Garrott) k
VERY SIMPLE MECHANICS RIGHT? NOT LIKE I FARMED THIS BACK IN 2.4 OR ANYTHING.
Second pull. I stun the first tail screw (And saw the SCH leeched the dot, whew.). Second happens and no one is dead. Third tailscrew happens and I see dots out the fucking ass and I'm sitting at 800 HP going 'welp, I guess I should holmgang once that cast happens'.
Holmgang -> sit at 1 HP for a few seconds -> die -> Decline raise -> /leave
Edit: Upon seeing this I realize that the mechanic is one person hits 1 HP, but 1-3 people get the dot. Durrr.
usually the wipes happen when people stack too close, causing multiple dots to be placed on people.
It was 2 BRDs, a SCH, and me. I hope we weren't too close together.
It always feels pretty funny to see others complain about lag when you yourself never have had any of it. So it is hard to understand where they come from when you havent been able to experience it yourself
Yeah, I can relate because I had no problems at my old apartment, then moved and had to get battleping heh
I had to switch ISPs haha, I had att uverse and had bad lag like all the time. then i switched to charter and had zero problems with lag.
^ That's what happened to me. Hurray FIOS being the only non-Comcast provider in the area.
Went in A4 Normal yesterday after a good month break, since I was tired of banging my head on the wall everytime before. Yesterday I did it to help a friend for her 1st time, we went in 3 times.
I went as WAR as OT the 2 1st time & I noticed something wrong, the DPS output was incredibly low on the 1st leg but I kept going. I was taken to Quarantine & again, the monster took a while to die (the DPS with me was a BRD.) We arrive to the add phase & i'm still in Q, when suddenly I see 5 people die instantly (including the 2 healers) while I'm Q..
So i'm like "What?" To be honest it was the 1st time I saw that, for real. We restart, this time I get out of Q to see something called exhaust? everyone dies again, people start pointing each other out and ppl ragequit.
2nd time exact same, altho it was all different ppl...
3rd time I say screw it & decide to MT, we arrive at the add phase again and no one pick them... I as the MT, go out of my way to pick them & gather them but I get crazy damage while doing so because slow/low DPS and probably because the stacks were poping on me & giving me 5k damage? We arrived at the last phase where the boss does Discoid, everyone died there I don't know how, I was taking Fire Balls if I could and to be honest my healer was very compitent do keep me alive trough that shit. But gosh, what happened in a month? Did we go trough an Armaggeddon & I didn't notice it? Some people were bad, but definately not THAT bad.
Typically people pick priorities on which add they nab (they spawn in the same three spots every time) just so there isn't any overlapping aoes or mobs running amuck. They give stacks to people in range with one of their attacks, get four of them and you explode for a bit of damage.
Discoid is the move used to spawn purple balls, and Perpetual Ray follows. In the first phase Ray is avoidable by stunning the leg that lets off steam before the rays go out on random targets, but 95% of the tanks in DF don't know that, or don't care. Last phase, you have to pop CDs for it, it's a multi-hit magical attack on main tank from its front iirc. As for wtf is killing people in last phase, well, only raid dmg there is there is Carnage Zero (aoe on each person, overlaps means more damage), and the orange circles that come out at times which are easy to dodge. Everything else is on Nisi dot tics on the healer, whoever eats purple balls, and the MT taking the Perpetual Ray buster..
I typically run A4 with premade just because the DF can't into DPS. A1-3 you can derp a hundred times on and still clear with 9 year olds.
Random Complaint: Still lvling MNK, 56 now, and the rebuilding of GL3 every pull is real as every tank takes their sweet time between packs. Form Shift is nice, but damn if I didn't wish Perfect Balance's CD was halved, or do something like WAR where certain skills will add a stack of GL (Elixir Field wouldn't be too bad w/ it's 30s CD)
