FFXIV Random Complaint Thread II: DPS can't count to potato

The Ex roulette carry is fuckin real. Seems to be way worse than @lvl50.

With modern gear the damage gap between a player who knows what they're doing, and some numbnutt mashing keys is much wider than it ever was at lvl50, so yeah, it's more of a problem than it's ever been, and will continue to do so as the iLvl rises.

Getting to know other jobs is simultaneously a gift and a curse. I'm so fucking critical of Drks in DF now it's not even funny. Had two Drks in a row that didn't use Darkside for the majority of the dungeon, and used Blood Price maybe like two or three times. Average pull would look like Unmend > Unleash all of their MP away > Siphon Strike Combo until they get their MP back. I think I can count on my hand all the times both of them used Shadowskin also.

The gap in DPS is can vary between 200 DPS (A MNK who was D/Cing 50 fucking times in A2) and 1.3k+ single target.

Back in 2.x you could see a variance of 100-600.

Though I am talking a difference between paint huffing retard mashing 1 and someone who knows their rotation inside out, uses C/Ds, brings food and pots, and maximizes their iLv.

Because fuck minuet. Shit plays like ass, and haven't touched bard since I hit 60 because of it.

Lol... the first part is word for word what a DRK told me the other day in the Vault. I know he was wrong but I couldn't really argue or make a case since my own DRK is only lvl 32.

I'm gonna assume that hardcasting Fire III was while NOT in Umbral Ice and alternating between Fire III and Fire IV.. The real crapp DPS BLMs though are the ones that hardcast Thunder III.

Can't even do an EX roulette in DF anymore. This game needs a parser or have SE embrace some type of "site that gives good information" on how to do your rotation or play your job correctly.

This weekend I've had:

Tanks lose hate to Aero III
MNKs who spam arm of the destroyer
SMN 60's with auto garuda and no Dread Trance
DRG 60's who don't use heavy thrust
NIN 60's who never apply Huton
And my favorite, ripping Faust in A1 normal on SMN with quelling.

The community that Yoshi P. and the rest of the devs cater to are generally paint huffers. This entire game has been a huge disappointment, filled with bald faced lies on content and features promised.

Holy fuck you were not kidding, had a lvl 50 alt I started leveling again and had to do all the post AK WP dungeons, the amount of dumbassery is off the scales. I could barely get past the first boss on most of these dungeons, at one point two melee didn't break me out of the hand from that one mob in Quarn HM, they were hitting it so long and doing such shit damage than another hand spawned grabbed the healer and the beam hit him a couple times till he died. Neither of us said shit because of just how ridiculous it all was. He just left immediately after which i promptly followed.

More than anything, they need a crash course in game with or without a parser but at least with some metric to judge your damage dealing capabilities. It needs to loosely teach them what to do rotation wise for ST and AOE and add phase transitions, burn phase strategy and optimal openers. It should reward something good enough that even end game raiders would want to do it, the shitters in this game is making old content unbearable.

Or maybe you can read again the comment stating that he didn't know what to do on the last boss, died on the 1st Ram/Dragon voice up to 7 times thus leaving us with no heal & to die. But I guess I could be as smart as you are (because you are apparently!) and say that its you being you & unable to read.

Also, more MND would have contributed to a bettter healing over the course of the dungeon, compared to somes crappy Lv9 NQ INT rings & NQ Lv20 Fang Necklace.

Oh I read what you said, just from this and other comments you've posted I have my doubts on your ability to correctly figure out why a wipe's happening.

And besides, if you really aren't exaggerating it's a bit retarded to wipe *seven* times to a thing, while you even think 1 guy is at fault, and not either a. kick the guy you think is causing the wipes, or b. vote abandon/leave. I'd be doing that after the 4th wipe on a day I'm feeling patient...what exactly made you think after the 4th or 5th wipe that the problem would be fixed on the next go or that it was even still worth the time at that point?

My feelings exactly. I got bard to 60 just to level it, found my dps was way more horrible with WM on than off in dungeons and just left it off for the few dungeons I did do on my way up. Now I only use bard for solo content. WM shitted up bard good.

Yeah I couldn't get used to it, nor did I want to. It took all the fun out of bard, which was being able to move freely while dpsing. I didn't want to learn the system so I didn't. The only other job I dislike that much in XIV is monk (and consequentially it's always the last one I level). I do find MCH more bearable though.

Well BRD looks more appealing with Minuet, the only thing you lose with it is the ability to do your weapon skills while moving and that's not really a big deal.

This just makes me want to re-iterate how stupid it is that this game doesn't have proper instanced housing in addition to the wards as a place to dump your house to unscathed if you so happen to take a 45 day break.

Just get to lose the privilege of having neighbours until a new lot is available to transfer it to is all. It'd solve the problem of players wanting their own place but no lots available to deal with it.



Also slowly building a QOL/"Stuff that should be fixed" list in notepad. Contemplating making a thread for it at some point to gather ideas from others and use to catalog how much of it ever does get addressed/added.

The Aery isn't that bad. I've been running it as WAR and I've seen one person get killed by the gaol there. Its the Hard Roulette where the retards come out for some reason.

And I've only had a single NIN out DPS me on any of the boss fights in the Aery.

Funny, I have the exact same sentiment. I never liked melee jobs nor enjoyed the caster ones so I picked up bard as my dps back in 2.1 or so. Then 3.0 happened and behold the job I played for most of my time in FFXIV got turned into a caster. I still use it whenever I have to dps but I don't enjoy it and for any raid content I use my paladin now (yeah, bad choice, I know).

Come to think of it, I can probably outdps my bard on my paladin on bosses now just because I can't be bothered to even gear it up or actually get used to all the nonsense interrupts. I still tried to main bard up till we started doing AS1 and to me the straw that broke my back was when I found out that, unlike actual casters, I would still have the positional requirement on ravana as if I'm a melee job. So many things annoy me on bard that every time I play it, I just get disgusted enough about it that I can not bring myself to improve my dps. Yeah fuck it, I'll hover around 900 single target dps forever and I don't give a shit anymore.
