I know, old content and weak complaint. But did trail roulette. Get steps of faith and party insist that the two melee grab the cannons. OT and whm dps the entire time, get to the end and they are like zomg how did we fail the dps check on this thing?? I should've left when ot told me to get cannon. Only reason I qued up as dps was because I was tired of getting that damn trial every time I que as tank.
Could just leave next time. That's what everyone does these days.
Silenka: Do not have high expectations with that. Gotta keep em low with SE..
If you actually failed the DPS check because 2 DPS were on cannons, you've got a lot more problems.
They decided to put two dps on cannons. They weren't exactly the smartest people when it came to rotations and the fight. They spent most of the time with the adds waaaay behind the boss while they dps the adds instead of boss. I always try to be the 'good guy' and not leave dungeons and like to 'help' people. But some people are beyond help and or don't deserve it.
After the nerf, you can essentially ignore the cannons completely and just dps the boss the entire time while the OT and a healer (or just healer) kites all the adds at the beginning. Good luck convincing people to do that shit though.
In regard to reusing Heavensward dungeons, I'd imagine we'll get an Aery Hard during the story where we go back to get the abjurations off Nidhogg.
I'm fine with only two dungeons. I'm perfectly fine with that. I usually just repeat one for tomes anyways when I need a serious grind. Seriously, how much more content does 3 dungeons add over 2? 30 minutes?
At the end of it all I'm still going to be spamming them for tomes over the course of the next 3-5 months.
I got my trinity leveled up. I'll be able to hopefully hit i210 outside of alexander (Okay, i209) on DRG so I can start hitting up Alexander (Savage) on my wonky ass schedule and maybe attempt to do something without worrying about gear checks.
If there's a shitty dungeon. Sure Neverreap isn't as 'easy' as fractal but I've still stomped it in less than 20 minutes in the DFer.
What was the last shitty dungeon? I don't remember a really bad one from 2.3 -> 3.0
2.0 was a different beast by all accounts though.
Sastasha HM was pretty grueling in DF with the average DPS you used to get in there. Especially on the last boss. Nevermind healers letting you die on the first boss.
I found WP hard to be shitty. I enjoyed keeper of the lake in comparison.
WP Hard purely because of the amount of trash with seemingly extraordinarily high HP between 1st and 2nd boss.
Getting AK/Keeper was a blessing.
Snowcloak was somewhat shitty, if only for the mini gauntlet after the 2nd boss which seems to last forever.
Neverreap is absolutely a shitty dungeon.
Hard? No.
Miserable to play? Yes. Tornados, a boss with evasion, obnoxious ass pick-up totem gimmick, a boss with multiple decently sizable jump periods, evasion boss has those jump periods but at least you can kill the adds to keep up GL or whatever, uninteresting bosses, a kind of somewhat generic terrain type we've seen before, and nothing really super interesting. Just obnoxious gimmicks and goddamn tornadoes.
When I say shitty dungeon I guess that's subjective, one example is that when playing on tank I hated Snowcloak, DF always seemed to give me idiots who couldn't heal through the first pull, even when I left out the wolves, the triple goobues or the pull right after, dps that insisted on hitting snowballs on the second boss before they'd grown or getting one shot by Fenrir for failing the mechanic. I'd hoped by the time I was farming zodiac drops that the situation would have improved but it never did. Conversely, playing on sch I didn't mind it at all.
By comparison Satasha and Qarn were much less prone to wipes based on bouts of stupidity, and I found them enjoyable. Sure there were still DF bads getting in, but they were less instrumental in dragging the whole dungeon out.
Keeper of the Lake is also a pet hate of mine, on any job. Meanwhile I've never had a truly memorable bad experience in either WP or AK hm's.
I can heal through the first pull fine. It's the one with the elementals that are difficult.
Quarn HM can be a pain if people don't bother with the covered sabotender...
