Holding on to the chain thing on Cerb until Cerb just about awakes also freaks people out, it's awesome.
Always annoyed me when he had like a few % of health left after the 2nd stomach dies and people go and re-chain him.
Just kill it stupid.
Or when people save their LB to waste on that last few % instead of using it on the stomach which knocks off 25% of his health.
My CT experiences on Aether are usually fairly positive. ST is almost never any sort of problem. CT people are a little bit dumber about, especially Behemoth which usually ends up a wipe the first time around. WoD's fail points are always Angra Mainyu and Cloud of Darkness. For some reason, it's too hard for most people to stand on the meteor points.
Always see the bone dragon tanked in the center, people still don't know the skeleton mechanic but the healers just heal through it.
Personally I like the 24-man raids and I'm going to enjoy Void Ark too. Spamming them gets to be really unfun after a while when you need one piece of gear to drop out of a large pool of possibilities, but oh the cross-party bickering and watching people eat dirt can be amusing. It's sadly the closest thing we've had to "mid-tier" content aside from Alex normal and extreme trials, so I'll take it...
Complaint: basically any character besides the one they picked for the FFXIV-FFXI tie in would've been better.
I like Iroha, but she's not significant enough, but I bet it's because her outfit was the easiest to port over and "fits" the game better per yoshi excuses. If he really wanted to make a "grand finale" event, he'd copy some XI content like Sinister Reign or that Maiden battle thing and let us fight key NPCs from XI.
But that takes actual work.
Obviously it's doubtful, but there still always a chance that other NPCs will show up.
As far as the gear goes, it's the most gender neutral between the main female protagonists of each expansion, so I imagine that's their reasoning to avoid people whining about the lack of gender neutral glamour.
Easy fix to that, just include a male and female character from XI and distribute female armor to girls and male armor to boys. Not really a difficult solution and you'd get more than 1 crossover character in there. But like they say, that would take actual work and we know the dev team ain't about that.
Yeah, even though they say they're putting a lot of time into the event, I'm betting they're cutting corners and only making 1 armor set to save time.
what lol
i think the easiest, obvious, most reasonable thing is that Iroha is the heroine of Rhapsodies and Rhapsodies is the thing that's ending FFXI. The event is celebrating Rhapsodies/End of Vana'diel; not FFXI as a whole. i don't think her being "easier" had anything to do with it lol
But how can you be negative towards FFXIV for nothing with that kind of logic?
"For Nothing" - Oh boy.
Anyway, in the original (Japanese) live letter he said it coincides with the Grand Finale of FFXI. English isn't my native language, but Grand Finale sounds more like the end of FFXI, which as they've explained, no more dev kits = no more development and november's update is the last major update to the game. (Ignoring the Mobile Nexon version of the game.) With how flipflop yoshi is on the "requirements" for a cameo appearance, I say she's easiest because it'd be less work fitting her in (she time travels), her outfit is easiest to work into this game (it's fairly bleh, nice design but..definitely neutral) and given PAST events this game has had so far..it's probably be as following her story as much as it was us following Lightning's Story.
I'd like to be surprised but..if he uses lofty words to be 'on the scale of', I'd have expected them to showcase more significant characters to the overall story, which rhapsodies ties up and features as well, will they show up? Possibly. But if they really wanted to do something significant for the cross over, making a long last side battle content like exampled the Maiden battle or Sinister Reign would definitely be a nice nod to XI and a platform to bring over XI outfits or whatever as glamours/side rewards every x update since there's no longer an excuse to say these worlds aren't connected if both Shantotto and Iroha ended up here..and I bet they use the "lost in time/on the way to and ended up here" excuse for Iroha too.
It's just gonna be a copy of the Lightning event.
Some FATEs, a few cutscenes, here's your glamour.
Guys...guys...what if Iroha...is actually from Eorzea...but goes back in time to Vana'diel, because Vana'diel becomes Eorzea!!!11
Ark angels would be amazing. Omega, ultima, promathia. Heck most expansion bosses
Then it might look like the game was relying too much on XI to be interesting. And they're obviously trying to avoid everything that made us like XI, considering how often those of us who played XI end up comparing the differences between the two.
But we're talking about the collaboration event, not something permanent
