Why do people defend their inefficient and bad practices in dealing with the Oppressor at the start? If we're not going to zerg it down before 0.5 spawns, or shortly thereafter, why the fuck tank it North then expect the OT to pick up 0.5 and run South? Any action by the MT will make that fucker ping-pong. They then proceed to spend the whole fucking time crewing up and trying to justify being shit when they know it's a worse approach.
It's Alexander Normal. It doesn't mean you play like shit and do dumb stuff when you know better. I mean there's fucking people wearing fucking Savage drops in there who expect the OT to pick up Dolls on Faust.
fuck
Tanking the Oppressor north then having the OT voke the Oppressor when the alarm sounds and having the MT run south so the 0.5 follows is what I've always done (with my friend who tanks). Need to tank it south right away with DF cause that strat is apparently too complicated.
That's the thing. These fucking people actually argue for and defend doing anything but this. And they're wearing gear from at least through A2S. I get so fucking mad when I actually have to switch to Defiance just to ensure nothing the retard other tank does will ping-pong it.
And then I get blamed for a wipe. Nah nigga, fuck you.
Shit..in Normal and savage I just pull OP back if I'm MT or they do and I just voke 0.5 when it comes out, like..it's just so easy but the relic quest brought out the derpiest of derps it seems. (Even people with Savage gear so they clearly know the fight better than they let on..unless they bought wins.)
I've actually had decent luck in Alex 4, save those few healers who don't know the fight, which makes me end up solo-healing, and those fucking MNKs who always stand on the tank.
I'm a bit scared to try A1.
90 minute run and just barely won against CoD tonight.
Holy fuck, I had no idea people were still so bad at World of Darkness.
Despite that, we actually did pretty well on everything else, though.
(I did win the Puff though, so I'm not complaining too much).
ALMOST had a good Bismark trial. Almost.
ON THE LAST "%" (just more carapace rapage) BOTH HEALERS WERE DEAD. Three wipes later(echo active for this fight now), we abandon.
All the more reason I never never ever do any content that has 2 tanks. I cannot work with another tank, just can't happen. Same deal when/if I heal. I have this theory that people like to fuck shit up just to excite themselves.
I never done Alex and I never will. Throw the casual word at me, but I've heard enough horror stories about that place, and the 10 Ramuh Extreme wipes from earlier this year still has me discouraged..
I know I'm not the only want who does trial roulette, gets Bismark or Ravana, and KNOWS there's going to be a wipe before the fight even begins.
I wont do Void Ark either because there's no point.
There, I fixed Sylphlands.

My group just goes 1 heals 1 tank and 6 dps ... shit only has maybe 15ish% when it splits . If for some reason I use derp-finder for it I always go tank and make the other tank pull him north and leave him there. I pull .5 south and take care of the rest, no reason to leave it up to scrublords.
Whenever I do it, we just burn Oppressor where it stands, and MT moves oppressor when gate opens for 0.5
Seems efficient enough.
Well, it forces a split at 20% if you hit that, but even if its at like 25% before the timed split you can still very easily burn it with one tank. Do it all the time with random PF groups with mediocre DPS, tank only ever really has issues if the group is dumb and doesn't kill one quickly, you can easily burn the .5 from 10% or more before it can self destruct but people are silly and will get them both down to 1% and the tank's stuck with them at 8 stacks for a bit.
Yeah, I couldn't really remember exactly when they force split, but by the time .5 brings it's slow ass down the ramp we have taken another 5% or so off the original. I don't see why more groups don't do it this way if the tank is capable and dps don't stand in shit.
Not casual, just sad that you cut yourself off from half of the content in the game by refusing to deal with others. Guess what, that's life? It happens in all areas of life, not just the game. If you refuse to deal so much that you miss out on half the content the game actually offers, you have some deep-seated issues that go way beyond not wanting to deal with bads in a game. 90% of my Alex runs go smoothly. 80% of my Void Ark runs go without any group wipes. You have more of a % chance of failure in trial roulette - which you apparently do often enough to complain about it - than in either of the things you said you avoid.
Now maybe at this point you have no reason to do Alex or Void Ark for their rewards but if you're avoiding experiencing them solely because of other people I feel bad for you and recommend you suck it up and grow a pair.
I don't like to work with DF tanks either because they tend to have the inability to not only listen, but to properly do some mechanics and make life harder on healers - especially newer healers. For example it's become normal for tanks to stand in everything in DF and expect the healers to just "heal through it"..meanwhile my muscle memory refuses to let me stoop that low. Obsolete content or not, I've done certain content so much it just feels..stupid to just get hit by everything.
Especially warriors.
"I don't tank, I DPS."
You can do both.
Honestly though, I wouldn't completely forgo content but at the same time I can't blame or judge anyone who doesn't want to deal with these players because the "preferred playerbase" does have a good tendency to make life harder than it needs to be either due to trolling, inability to learn or just straight up not knowing how to play the game.
