Hey guys, hope ya like Blitzball. Because I guess blitzball is possibly actually coming to the game.

If it's exactly as it was in FFX, then hey! That's gonna be fun. Not factoring in lag. But if they decide to put an "Eorzean spin" on it, other than obviously recruiting Eorzea NPCs, then nope. Cuz no matter how innovative their spin is, it's gonna suck.

It'll be like FFX's Blitzball/YoshiP Limitations = Some bastardized version of it. I do remember him mentioning there was a possibility of it showing up but we have to see how the swimming/underwater ends up since god knows they didn't put Flying to use yet in this expansion aside travel.

Didn't he mention at one point that they had some flying mini-game in the works like flying through rings or some shit?

every minigame added to this game so far has been terrible, not sure why anyone would be the least excited for Bliztball at this point

hopefully one day they'll let you play these minigames while queued for real duties (plus while outside of the gold saucer) and they'll stop being such a huge waste of development time

I think another point to note is one reason we even played the minigames a lot in the original games was because we actually got powerful items or materials out of it. There is no way SE will do the same in XIV, especially with all the wintrading and shady shit players do with the current minigames.

XIV team simply does not know how to make a game fun. It shows most obviously in the minigames.

if so it makes some sense. they probably only played ffxi/ffxiv/jrpgs for most of their lives. yoshida likes to talk big about how he's played all these other mmos but he's done a pretty fucking shitty job of transferring fun elements over to ffxiv.

IIRC, the original FFXI team was fired, with Tanaka quitting. The result of his team failing, brought us this yoshida era..

Nah shifted around, only Tanaka got "fired" after essentially Wada's mistakes. A lot of XI people are still on the team but are also some of the same people who gave us the interesting content concepts in XI...

Wait.. I'm getting confused there because I keep reading on reddit that BG is the cancer of FFXIV.

I guess it's true that no one on Reddit ever read BG. This 1-2 TB of monthly bandwidth used by people having reddit.com as HTTP referer must all be accidental clicks or forged HTTP headers.
