I only recently leveled BLM and I adore it in 50 content, I actually used it for all my Poetics grinding, but it's really...not fun in 60 content. Definitely not my thing. I tried to like it, I really did, but I dislike how restrictive Enochian is.

They made it a little easier by allowing you to refresh the timer back to 30 if you use the skill again. Before, it was impossible to keep enochian up at all. Enochian can last up to 3 rotations before before you have to re-use the skill in an ideal situation.
And yes, it's obvious SE tweaked monster/AOE logic to specifically target BLMs if leylines is up.
Altho some of the white knights start to wake up & leave too now, I personally have not done anything beside gathering/crafting when I am motivated enough, or as you pointed just to chat. This is so sad, so much effort to revive this game & now they're going to kill it again.
Several kicks in the ass did it, but the biggest one was the long ass break they took from 3.0 only to return to release 3.1 which only amounted to a massive mini game that took up all the fixes and such, and left us with nothing else but 2 dungeons. Also, more raids is not enough, there needs to be more than that.
When Thordan decides he's going to knock you back six times on Ultimate End instead of seven.
The moar raids solution kind of baffles me. The clear rate on A4S is still pretty low, so I guess that would have been the last fight for whatever hypothetical 7 Boss raid people want released every 6 months. Then we'd probably just have A1S through A3S doubled and that'd be it. So two fights that aren't so bad third is a difficulty spike then two more fights that aren't so bad and sixth is a difficulty spike. That's how ICC felt to me, there were fights that were very hard, so you'd move on to a different hall or drop it to normal mode temporarily. Yeah it'd be great to see something like Ulduar in this game, but I just don't think we ever will. I don't really remember how much I was raiding in WoW (12 hours a week maybe?), but in FFXIV I'm doing like 5 hours so I'm kind of biased to these smaller raid sizes anyway.
I think they could bump it up to 5 fights and it wouldn't be so bad to just get that every 6 months as long as we're getting a primal every patch. Also I don't really don't think LoV was as terrible as people insist, I just think it had a bad implementation which they need to fix along with chocobo racing. I actually like the balance of casual and raid stuff the game has right now, I agree 3.1 was kind of light, but I've just seen so much doomsaying over so many MMOs that I'll never be able to take those predictions seriously again.
I'd love to see more and harder dungeons, but dungeons have been relegated to a pre-raid gearing grind and because of that they're not allowed to be hard because seemingly people just want tomestone welfare checks. People mentally couldn't handle it, I still remember people going on about how the last boss of Haukke hard simply couldn't be done with i55 weapons. I still think the best way to handle the whole tomestone system would make tomestones obtainable via the Slide puzzle game or something and then just make dungeons harder. That way people who actually like running dungeons could just do them and everyone else could do the slide puzzle game for their tomestones.
Dungeons can be raid level, they just have to break away from the grind mentality of the dungeon. Don't make them grind able (at first), give them awesome drops with a lockout or currency grind.
Lots of these dungeons would work well if they made them 2-3 times as hard. Make them take an hour, make them only doable one time per day/week whatever. After an hour you either clear or getting booted, try again in 1-7 days. It would work and would be fun.
NNI in FFXI was awesome. You got one token a day, could stack up to 4. Save the 4 for a spam day or do one a day. The content was hard and rewarding.

There are tons of existing, fun systems that have already been designed that SE could pick from instead of the horrible divide between ZZZ and OMG content.
Yeah I think having harder 4 man content would open them up to do more with 8 man content as well since someone like me in a guild that doesn't want to raid much more than 5 hours a week can have fun or gear up in that 4 man content. Also adding a random sampling of mechanics into Diadem rather than having everything be a health sponge would fix that experience so quickly. Throw in a few pet drops (from old dungeons maybe?) and pow, amazing content.
Talking about FFXI, I think one of the best ideas were BCNMs/KSNMs/EMNMs
Currency that randomly drops, or 1 per 5 minutes per party member was the formula I believe, combined with rather difficult or tricky mechanics or unfair mob stats, makes losing extremely painful. Even the level 20 ones are a pain in the ass requiring a lot of resources to clench out a win.
The inventory bloat from the anima is real. I call complete bullshit on system limitations stopping them from making a KI tab, they just want more money from people buying an extra retainer.
Ding ding ding.
Just like XI, as soon as the squeeze is put on them they'll realize they have to throw players a bone and give more inventory space despite all claims of "it is literally impossible to give you more space".
I loved in XI how we were constantly told it was impossible, PS2 limitations etc and then they just kept having to cave and add more space/storage options which made it completely obvious that either they were lying from the get-go or they could figure it out if they just put a little effort into it!
It also doesn't help when your inventory gets bloated from random trash mob drops in dungeons -.-. I know I can't be the only one that wishes for a "Auto-pass" button.
My problem with the game right now (apart from the horrible BLM changes) is there's no content for me. I don't have the dedication or the will any more to put in 4 nights per week to do Alexander savage and everything else is too easy, apart from the extreme primals that I've not tackled yet which could provide some fun for about a week. Although fun is a strange word as I imagine trying to get first clears in PF at this stage of the game is like tearing hair out one strand at a time. I'm just going to login once per day for roulette until 3.2 so I can get i210 and see what that patch brings.
The fight was tough, but people really thought one i55 weapon would sink you which since I did that fight many times with my GC weapon on my monk, I found very inaccurate. This combined with people very often killing themselves over and over by brainlessly refusing to kill adds on the first boss of PS was what I think led to us getting really stupid dungeons.
I really don't think it's some retarded attempt to squeeze money from people. It really doesn't take up that much invo space (though it is still annoying), definitely not enough to justify purchasing a fucking retainer. I'm pretty sure they do it this way instead of key items so that you can gather the items and trade them in on any job. If you have the relic quest for your DRK sword and gather all the items and then decide you want the WAR axe instead you'd abandon the quest and lose all the items if they were key items. At least this way your progress transfers over and isn't tied to a single jobs quest. Of course they could code shit better and have that not be the case, but it's probably just easier to make all the items go to your invo rather than be directly tied to the quest. Not everything has to be about them being greedy, sometimes they're just lazy and incompetent.
