With the Lore tomes probably crapping out i220 Primal gear, I'm not really stressing about capping Esoterics anymore.

Spoiler: show
Not sure why you would spoiler that. They said they were going to lower the cost of T5 materia from diadem which will likely be the place for biggest possible source of T5 materia and that will be how they drive players to go do that content because there is no real reason to do it once you've gotten the mount currently.
Arbitray "best gear in the game" comes from there but at such a low chance it might as well not even be in the game after their recent adjustments to the content.
Also will no longer be BIS when 3.2 drops anyway, I'm sure they'll add higher tier gear to it in 3.3 or something, but for now it's all just going to be garbage.
I'm more concerned about the minimum ilevels for content. I'm something like i197 right now. I imagine the new dungeons will have minimum ilevel of between 190-200. So my plan is to just farm my weekly esoteric upgrade item and when esoterics start dropping like candy in 3.2 I can quickly reach i210 while I collect the lore tomes.
Also my thinking is that the max ilevel in 3.2 won't be 230 with lore giving 220s, there's likely to be alexander normal mode gear factored in so I could well see the max being 240 with lore 230 and alexander normal 220 then dungeons around 205.
Re: No new stats or secondaries
...what armor are they supposed to put them on? There's two sets of endgame gear available, both of them requiring raiding. Limit it to the raiders? Casuals complains. Put it on the 180/190/200 stuff? It's still going to be inferior to 210. If it isn't, then you blow apart the notion of item level and you'll have raiders complaining there's no point to raid when the Void Ark body has Doublestrike on it and X Y Z math.
As long as the progression is 1 raid, 1 currency, 1 24-man, there's not really any room for character in your gear, so why bother? Would it be better or worse to get Quickened Cast proc on your gear if it only totaled 1% because it was only on Savage pants?
The secondary system needs to be grossly reworked if they intend on ever doing more with it. I wouldn't be surprised if their coding was worse than XI's and they can't even add "Double Attack +1%" without indicating it as a raw value, and I don't think they have it in them for gear to display
Critical + 56
Determination + 27
Double Attack + 423
It's unlikely to happen but I'm really hoping Midas normal gear is i210 so I don't have to touch that shit. Not like it'd be out of place anyway, they love obsoleting content on release and it's likely to be used for the new relics later.
Jesus christ, fuck this shit. Spent 50 minutes running through Void Ark and the tools can't clear the ad phase on third boss so it gets abandoned. That's 50 minutes of my life I won't get back. To hell with running through that again for my weekly clear. Whatever happened to kicking bads? Why must those of us who want a clear have to suffer?
No one can agree on who the bad is most of the time. I've had parties collapse because the DPS bitched about being killed, healers bitching about everyone taking so much damage and tanks being melee'd to death while healers lose their shit at miasma stacks not being erasable.
The encounter requires the barest degree of competency out of everyone, starting at healers. Fuck, I still have to explain to idiots that they have to deal with the raid damage as a mechanic, and they say it's too hard.
Most of the wipes I've had in VA were caused by having to run from one side of the arena to the other because the other Healer was full time DPSing while our DPS were spread all across the arena. Also, Pagan Knots. How the hell don't people understand the Pagan Knots by now?
They can place secondary stats on materia. They could let crafters make fusioned materias, job based materias, Or unique trait materia. Make it so blueprints for high end materia drop from top raids then eventually start flowing them into dungeons a couple patches later. Add limitations such that the materia can only fit into x ilvl gear Or less so you have to replace it out eventually. Rinse and repeat. But this to complicated for players so we'll never see it.
RE: Actual stats:
Yeah, Materia or..dump em on armor in general because the armors are currently designed to have about 9-10 stats not counting materia slots and set bonuses, so there's plenty of room. But Yoshi says the servers would crash if our file sizes increases any higher than it already is, which is why they can't do anything but sell us more retainers.
I figured reset day would be early enough but you're probably right. I work during reset time so I can't get on for those competent groups. I should have known this group sucked ass when it wiped to the trash before second boss (Knot stuff). I just wanted to get it over with and logout for the week so it's not good when you spend 50 mins in there for an abandon. Even the worst groups will clear the third boss on the third or fourth try and I've never seen a wipe on the last boss so that has to be faster than starting again.
I tend to only do my weekly clear near the end of the week and I haven't seen a single Void Ark wipe since the first days of 3.1. I don't envy whatever backwater datacenters you guys play on.
Been having no issues in VA on Primal center in awhile also. Lots of free inprogs from the usual lot&ditch though.
The tanks in general are usually retarded though, but that's always been a complaint of mine in all alliance content.
The 1080 day (rank 13 veteran) costume:

Feels like a missed opportunity to tie it into the FF9 iOS/Android remaster. But free costume and free costume. Not sure if I want to wear that at the moment though; I need something not a potato to see if it'll look decent on me.

FUUUCCCCKKKKK I cashed in all my 1 handers for seals last week.Thank you for the continued feedback regarding the ability to glamour one-handed conjurer and thaumaturge's weapons over two-handed ones. As we've mentioned in the past, the dev. team continues to look into this.
Before that, however, I wanted to let you all know that we're planning to introduce two-handed versions of popular conjurer and thaumaturge's weapons for content which currently reward one-handed versions. Their new designs will be based on their one-handed versions.
Please note that when this is introduced the one-handed versions will no longer appear as a reward from the actual content; however, players will be able to exchange their weapons for the opposite version.
The dev. team is currently working on this and aiming for release in Patch 3.2. After you give these new two-handed versions a swing, let us know how you feel about them!
I wonder what would happen to the mage shields then![]()
I tanked Void Ark until I got the full Fending set. No more.
