I did Amdapor hard on SCH and minus incidents where people just didn't understand mechanics and I had to heal through things I was in Cleric essentially the whole time with an i200ish WAR tank. Unfortunately I was missing half my Broils and Miasmas so I wasn't exactly contributing a ton of dps. Gonna need to craft a set of 220 and meld as much acc as I can.

Already retired my tanks, this change was pants on head retarded. I was expecting something like maybe a 10% nerf max that would be partially made up by melding on later gear, not an essentially insurmountable 20-30% cut.

You should still see the amount of idiotic tanks defending it on the OF, its just plain crazy. I just did both new dungeon on WAR & DRK & you no longer can DPS freely without your tank stance unlike before, if the DPS are decent/good you're in for a hard time.

My main concern is, did they think it would benefit new players just starting as tanks? Where did this whole stupid idea & numbers came from.

I just finished the MSQ. I really felt like it did barely anything to move the plot forward, and I barely have an idea of where it's heading. The Ishgard stuff is starting to get really old, the Raubahn fight was awesome sauce and I would love to see a savage version of it. I really like the small 2-3 series of quests that explain what the hell is going on with Hydaelyn and Aether and the Ascians but we've been constantly getting blueballed since launch.

I have little to no interest in Alexander at this point, especially since it's following the same format as Coils. Which leaves me with sidequests, new beastman dailies (Which i'll never touch) and Sephirot. I don't fancy wiping to Sephirot over and over with shitty pugs since I don't have a static so it's a toss up whether or not i'm going to put in any effort with it. I can't seem to bring myself to level up another job after getting AST to 60 and DRG to 57. I'm so sick of repeating the same fates, dungeons and dailies to get xp, it's the exactly same shit I did to get all my other jobs to 50. Which leads me to my next point. I'm not a big pvper, so i'll probably try the Feast once or twice and then never touch it again. So a majority of this patch's content is up in the air for me.

I'm concerned that if or when I get caught up on the primals, BisEx, RavEx, Thordan, and Sephirot I will literally have nothing else to do. I know there's other shit I can do in the game like crafting, relic grinding, GS minigames and chocobo racing and all that crap but it's such brain dead content that gives me no motivation to do it. At this point I let my 6 month sub renew which isn't a big deal since I get the legacy discount, but the next time it comes up for renewal i'm going to have a hard time justifying renewing it.

The meh content in 2.0 I was willing to give a pass on since it was rushed out, but with Heavensward it ended up being more of the same instead of introducing new systems and mechanics. I was pissed to find out Alexander was basically a reskinned BCOB and that's all we're really getting for high end raiding in the 3.X series. Coming from XI i'm desperately looking for something more in depth. Diadem had so much potential but they really dropped the ball on it and let it die and on that note i'm completely conflicted. I want to like and enjoy the game, however I find myself running around town not actually doing anything. I'll usually queue up something or take a peak at PF, but I usually just end up logging out or quitting a duty in the middle because i'm so bored.

I think i'm either burnt out or I'm finally realizing that we're not going to get XI-like content in XIV.

You're not interested because of a format? My 2 cents that you're just not social enough to get involved in any group, therefore you can't progress. Because yes, alexander and new ex primals require a bit of communication, patience and reliability.

Yes it was stupid from their part to cut tank's dps by 20%, but I somehow like the change because I was fed up to see some tanks making it too hard for the healers by not using cooldowns properly, on purpose or not. For me this change is more like yoshi says : "you don't know how to use CDs, here's some HPs and we're taking off some of your DPS as punishment".
Also now, DPS won't be able to hide anymore and they have no more excuse since there's a training ground.

Punishment as you say, its exactly what it is & Yoshi was a complete idiot for cutting the tank DPS by that much. The "Some tanks make it hard for the healers" excuse need to stop too as it was highly subjective. I have seen my share of horrendous healers & mostly horrendous DPS who really really need to learn to play their class or take their head outta their bottom, but yeah tanks are being punished, why? Why can't SE punish all these horrendous DPSes for playing with their toes?

Tank became super interesting because of the DPS as it gave us versatility, something which is lacking completely in the game & which people have been crying for since day 1 of re-release. Now this little bit of fun & enjoyment was taken away from us for the sake of these horrendous DPS ego and because of the few bad tanks encountered in the duty finder.

Anyway I have followed this argument since it started & no one ever really gave a good reason as to why tank should have 25k+ HP, a bad tank who can't manage his CDs properly will make it hard on any group (and his healers) no matter if he has 15k or 25k+ HP. That whole thing was stupid.

Thats an unfair way of dismissing his feelings, the MSQ being boring & the Alex template being a copy/paste of Coil has nothing to do with being sociable.

When healing, the only thing that makes it hard for me is:

    1. Tiny pulls
    2. Cautious tank (SS per pull pls, CC pls (if it even works), don't dps pls)

    I get bored, sleepy.

However, I find it more fun when:

    1. Tank is undergeared -- yay I can tank!
1a. ^ Yay DPS can tank! Share the pain!
    2. Massive pulls - dungeon goes quicker, I spend a bit of my concentration DPSing and keeping people alive
    3. Unpredictable behaviour from all players, aggroing, DPS pulling for the tank, etc

This keeps me more awake in general and is much more fun.

If the tank making it hard for healer is subjective, the way they can make it hard isn't. I didn't say that the fact they are equipping STR acc makes it hard, I said that if they don't use their CDs properly they makes it hard for healers. I could tank with full STR right side and still need less heals while maintaining high enough DPS. So I see the VIT adjustment like a bigger error margin for those who didn't use their CDs properly, the punishment coming from the 20% dps reduction.

For Burningthoughts, it's peremptory to state that the format keeps you out of interest. It's still a dungeon, a limited men content, you still need to kill mobs and you get a valuable loot at the end. Maybe I went a bit far, but to me it's not only the format that is to blame. Next time I will just ask if you prefer.

I didn't have in mind those dungeons. Ofc as healer, it's fun when your tank makes you work a bit in this kind of content. But you don't this happening during Alexander savage for example.

    I think I'm something of a..lenient healer?

I don't mind tiny pulls. Cautious tanks I'm fine with, from the tanks I've played with, their issue is running into poor DPS more so than a bad healer. Basically just do your best and don't have the mob(s) smacking me all over the place. And yes I do notice right away if CDs aren't being used. Regen/Cure I end up being an insufficient way to sustain the tank and I'm forced to spam Cure II. And I say to myself "I better not go into Cleric stance with this guy here..or wipe.."

Big pulls are iffy..some of them overdo it. It took a lot of practice, but I can heal through some really huge ass pulls now, but it scares me, I wont lie. Close calls aren't fun. And my goal for every run is to have no deaths. Not always possible though.

Paper tanks and DPS that can't avoid AOEs makes my job a nightmare.

The ACC issue does worry me a bit, they could have at least applied that to things other than DoTs. Before melding, gonna try some food first.

I think the tiny itty bitty pulls required of us in Lost City are definitely too small, regardless of whether or not you actively DD.

For every pull except the one with the double walls early on, I'm pretty sure I could just pop a Divine Seal Regen on the tank and afk if I wanted to. DS Regen and Asylum means I don't need to leave Cleric at all and it still felt as if I was overhealing.

Antitower's not as bad in that regard, because the enemies seemed to hit a bit harder? Or maybe I just had a bad tank when I ran it.

Are tankbusters not made with our huge HP pools in mind now? I was doing Sephirot NM the other day as I was making my rounds and his slow wind up punch is pretty nasty. (well, for a NM fight imo)

I really wish we could filter flying text, having retainer sales pop up in the middle of a fight, or making a video is seriously irritating.

You know, I can live with the nerf a bit since content from now on should be balanced around that. It sucks, but it's at least somewhat understandable. What I can't wrap my mind around are the swarms of people on OF/FB/Reddit/in game that are fucking celebrating the fact that they got nerfed hard. Like literal "Yay they cut my damage by 20%, now I'm a tank and not a DPS!". Like what? WHAT?! WAT

It costs 5 Amber-encased Vilekin from the vendor where you pick up HW leves. You can also buy "When a Tree Falls" for 10 of them.

Ah yes of course, but in that scenario everyone is serious and together (usually) unless it's a pick up group!

Having to visit four 2.X beastmen every day to see if they have any quests giving the T4 materia I want. Would have just preferred them to be buyable with the tokens.

Hate how god damn ugly the DF Menu looks now because people who use the DF menu are clearly checking the PF.

Also, so much for a ghetto 'parser'.
