Is it really against the ToS to sell a house these days? Been reading conflicting posts elsewhere suggesting it might be.
It's not an immediate need but it's possible I'll be transferring server if I get back into the game and that's a sticking point.
What about a realtor?
Is being a realtor for someone who wants to sell against the TOS?
The whole thing is silly
It probably is, but for the realtor rather than the seller.
The really silly thing is how broken housing is a year and a half after it was implemented. To transfer server you have to give up your house and then end up on a server where you won't be able to buy one because all the wards are full. Then there's the usual BS of people wanting one who can't get one. The whole instance idea was cool in theory but it never really worked. My housing area was pretty much dead 99% of the time I visited my house apart from a few members from an FC in a nearby house. Personal housing should have been different areas and not tied to a particular server so everyone could have one and so you could take it with you if you transferred. But lazy SE is lazy.
I guess worst case I can just sit out a 45 day demolition period and get 80% of my gil back, I'm in no rush and it's not 100% that I'll be transferring. I just happened to meet someone nice (in real life) who plays FFXIV on another server.
One guy here was warned for it. A few others on the OF. Personally have not read about SE updating thier TOS
The whole thing began when houses were up due to inactivity and people snatched them up and then resold them for higher. Bitching on the OF ensued. This is the result.
They didn't really change the TOS. They just labeled reselling the houses in PF as "griefing".
Yeah, and all kinds fall under it. It's mostly because of the people snatching up houses and reselling for sometimes triple the cost and SE didn't appreciate that, so now selling on PF in general just falls under that and why it would be considered an 'offense.'
The ToS is very open-ended so they can add things and have it fall under a certain category quite easily.
Yeah so.. if gate wont drop in a trial/dungeon, just have someone or yourself DC and come back to drop the gate. Don't know if that's an old bug, happened with titan just now. All 8 of us there and titan is like "hey guys what's up, yall scared?" gate wouldnt drop for 5 minutes, and since there's no active timer, you can't vote out.
Yet they're completely fine with people abusing the PF to sell raid clears, crafting mats and recruit for FCs? None of which were intended use of the PF. Bit hypocritical of them.
Having no legitimate way to sell a house is just going to make people hold on to them even though they don't use them, which just makes the housing problem worse. I certainly wouldn't let the game demolish mine for 80% of its original value as a way to get rid of it unless forced to by wish of transferring server. Gil has inflated since I purchased my house and I also had to pay for the build permit and the furniture I can't take with me. I think I'm justified in wanting more than I paid for it.
I do think the practise of buying up free plots as soon as they become available and selling for triple the price is a bad practise however. But SE could solve that by only allowing player to player house sales where the player has owned the house for at least a year. They could also link houses to accounts rather than characters and only allow one per account, which is how it should be when it's so limited. They could then have a board dedicated to a housing market.
Not enough QQ on the OF, I guess *shrug*Yet they're completely fine with people abusing the PF to sell raid clears, crafting mats and recruit for FCs? None of which were intended use of the PF. Bit hypocritical of them.
Ofc it doesn't make sense. There's an entire subreddit for house selling and the deals just got shifted away from pf into LS', that's all. But apparently a handfull of ppl getting warnings is enough to stop the QQ. Or at least tune it down for a bit.
Seriously comparing selling Raid clears and Crafting mats to buying up a limited housing market to resell at triple value? Yah okay enjoy the fantasy where thats an apt comparison. They're likely doing it because theres already enough complaining on the OF about the lack of plots available to buy (or was), and now people are buying them simply to resell at a huge mark up, the bitching would never end, they're band-aiding this situation.
I think its a good move on their part tbh, the people they're going to piss off aren't the casuals who rule the game.
Good point, I'm hoping, HOPING, they're smart enough to look at it on a point by point comparison and recognize the shit lords from the people just trying to sell their homes they no longer need... But perhaps they just expect you to "NPC" your house back and take your losses... which, admittedly, would be dumb, but at least you only lose 20% of your investment (Plus furniture, which I also think is colossally stupid)Having no legitimate way to sell a house
Kind of a hijack, but my account went inactive six months ago and I had a large house. In the event I came back would I have 80% of what I paid for it waiting for me upon my return? Probably won't come back but I just figured they foreclosed on it and you got nothing when I got the email.

So a little over a month following the time your building got demolished. They really want your sub money.* Players will have thirty-five days to redeem items from the resident caretaker before they are made irredeemable
On a side note, looks like SE applied the pet fix to the MCH turrets.
A8N has 15min enrage, can't believe I found that out lol.
It was actually 12 minute, I can't read I guess, was too shocked:
[10:05 p.m.]Alarum: Combat protocols restarting... All weapons free... Lethal force permitted!
...
[10:17 p.m.]Alarum: 10 seconds to auto-clean...
[10:17 p.m.]Alarum: 5 seconds to auto-clean...
[10:17 p.m.]Alarum: 4 seconds to auto-clean...
[10:17 p.m.]Alarum: 3 seconds to auto-clean...
[10:17 p.m.]Alarum: 2 seconds to auto-clean...
[10:17 p.m.]Alarum: 1 second to auto-clean...
Yep, only reason I like the normal branch of Midas, for now it actually doesn't let people absolutely terrible at their jobs or playing the game (it's very obvious when it comes to 7 and 8N) get pushed through it. I definitely refuse to do 7 weeks of it though now that my group is starting to push through A5 and A6S, so only a matter of time.
