God forbid you try to do something more efficient/easier than the PF norm as well. People can't seem to work this spread-out pattern which lets you ignore who gets purple, and lets melee/mt keep up on their dps without needing to re-position the boss afterwards.

Too many folks used to YOLOing it which is just asking for deaths in a pug setup since you don't know which sides of the arena the people in the party tend to gravitate towards, or how they react if you overlap somehow.

Unrelated, but not looking foward to getting my Midas normal parts this week. Was too lazy to do it on Tues when people put the PF farms up.

Sephirot PF "farms" have become terrible to the point I had to grab 4 others from my group to get my daggers or I would still be sitting there.

After the first few tries, we still had to boot 2/3 of the randoms who joined. SCH never ever shielded anything, used Eos on sic (?!?), Deployed Eye for an Eye, and randomly wiped us twice. MNK still had a bonus (and the guy even had the nerve to /tell us beforehand to make sure everyone was super experienced). We also had to kick another guy joining afterwards because he's literally known to be one of the worst players on the server.

It took us an hour to get going while being 5/8 static members... I think half the server must hate us now but the 3 guys we got in the end said it was the best farm they've ever had, so I guess it's ok?

Semi-related: switching from SCH to WHM in my raid group made me realize how awful most random SCHs are. I have no idea how they manage to be that bad at such an OP job.

A lot of scrub SCHs work on reacting rather than anticipating (re: memorizing the script and hopping out of clerics to shield or wait when you expect big damage), but that goes for healers in general. It just hurts SCHs even more since their main shtick is mitigation.

Took me a long time to get out of the reactive trap.

eh, there's reactive and reacting. if you're situationally aware, you can react to fights you've never seen before reasonably well; always safe to assume big charging shit's gonna need shields, big super ultimate hit with lots of fancy animation is gonna be worth Soiling, etc. Being reactive, though, you just tunnel on the party window and restore any missing HP, and that's the bad you're seeing.

One thing I need to work on is Deploying. I hardly ever use it, and that's bad.

My experience with SCHs in SephEx farms is that the good ones know when to use Emergency Tactics.
My experience also tells me that the vast, vast, vast majority of PF SCHs are abysmal and that I prefer a Noct AST. At least the Noct ASTs in PF actually shield.

Yeah, I feel like ET is underrated.

I think a lot of them now take it for granted that they're "just an extra DPS with a fairy" and fail to realize it's only possible in the first place because they have other, powerful tools.

I keep wondering what those dpsing scholars are you guys keep talking about. Had a complete waste of PT slot in the tower yesterday. Literally. The guy was not dpsing at all and got two-shot by the confused BRD in the Calbrina fight at like 90% HP. We finished the fight without him.

Haven't played since 3.0 basically, other than like 3 days I played for free during 3.1. Beast Tribes give tokens now for relic/etc...why the fuck do these take up inventory space?
SE refuses to give us better inventory space/management outside of paying for more retainers, but does this shit to us all the time.
WE HAVE A KEY ITEM INVENTORY THAT GOES MOSTLY UNUSED. WE HAVE A CURRENCY WINDOW.
I don't see how they missed the opportunity to just make "Reputation Currency" a thing.

I mean, I just got one in A8 that not only never left Cleric but still managed to DPS less than me while I was solo healing, so "DPS SCH" is technically pushing it. They're mostly terrible players either way.

ET is hot garbage tho...the only time I use it is if I have a lot of downtime and want to save the WHM a medica's worth of mana on a succor.

Outside of shielding pre tank buster or AoE damage mechanics, a SCH really doesn't need to heal unless the other healer is a SCH or the AST/WHM is weak or new to the fight.

I also don't pug this fight or go in without the majority of people I trust to not be shit.

Only spot I use ET in SepEX is timing it for a big add explosion w/ an Indom since I never trust the other healer or the group not killing 2-3 adds immediately after. Everywhere else Succor's shield is more handy.

If ET made the next Adlo/Succor cast instant as well I may find more uses for it, otherwise it's just a niche tool, most likely just put in to help with solo healing stuff.

Level 30 GLD now, and I still see dragoons not using Heavy Thrust, or just using impulse drive instead of comboing out during dungeons.

You'll still see players of that caliber at 60. Lots of them.

I had 2 good ones this weekend: I got DD in roulette with a ninja, AST, and thaumaturge....that 50 DPS THM....45 minute run. Coming in second DPS on WAR without leaving defiance is sad. Do your job quests people!

Second, found Hellclaw chillin in the jungle and threw up a PF for a kill. Before I pulled I told everyone to watch for counter manuvers so they didn't kill themselves. The DRG in the group said "lol, don't worry I've done this before". I bet my FC friends 50 gil the he dies first...easiest 50 gil I ever made.

If it's a low sync'd dungeon, before DRG gets their 3rd combo, I thought ID spam does more than True -> Vorpal?

It does. Especially since you don't have to position HT. Just sit behind target and go ham.

Heavy Thrust has a positional, Impulse does not.
