I'd think it's more of...each patch pisses more and more people off and just quit.

It's a combination of all of the above.
What's the general DF etiquette for A5 normal Gorilla nowadays?
Is there some unspoken rule that I get it while main healing that I don't know of? No one seems to want to Gorilla and it's wiped the last 3 parties I've DF'd the fight in.
Random complaint: After two weeks of the level 50 raids being decent, they're back to being full of shitters again.
Healers typically do gorilla in normal unless someone else volunteers in my experience, yes
Well that's good to know - and fortunately, it wasn't only me making an ass of myself, the other healers weren't making an attempt, either.
Shit's terrible in DF now, though.
There's an interesting fact – only players who logged in to the game in the last 14 days are allowed to log in to the official forums.
While they may have a pretty steady number of active subscribers, all players who could be disappointed by the game (because they unsubbed) are cut off from the OF.
Yep, if I don't do it on MCH no one will because I noticed people just let the bombs sit there and not even budge. As for lack of activity..well Dark Souls 3 and Doom Open beta probably pulled some away for a bit but despite what the "this game is perfect!" people state, people seem to be leaving and not coming back quite easily. Outside of populated servers like Balmung, it really shows when the population takes a hit.
I found this out myself when I tried to access it to see some posts from the OF fail thread, imagine my surprise when I found I can't access the OF at all because I'm not subbed anymore.
I don't blame SE for wanting to hide what the community is actually like from potential new subscribers though.
It was probably an overzealous fix to how you used to be able to post on the forum as long as your cookie didn't expire. Think I was able to post on XI's forum for a good five months after unsubbing a couple years back.
And unrelated, but with the amount of fucking RMT spam I'm getting on Hyperion lately (around five an hour if I'm not in an instance), I'm surprised the RMT bots haven't attempted to flood the OF yet with advertising threads.
Also another complaint from a cursory glance, courtesy of 3.25
Expert roulette caster cap is under 354.
Level 60 roulette caster cap is above 354.
They reach more players by using tells. Shouts/yells are limited to just one zone, which maybe has about 30 people in it. Versues the thousand or so they can get by using the search feature to find names everywhere.
There are some bots that spam in /say near the marketboards in the three major cities....more annoying than the /tell ones to be honest.
on malboro they're still frequent, but my eyes just glaze over and skip them now. couldn't recall any of the actual websites from memory if i tried.
Odd that they still don't know how to use party finder to advertise lol, that or they don't on purpose
It would be too easy to ban them. Also the PF is fairly heavily restricted, though I don't know how that compares to /tell restrictions atm (and from my experience a ton of players never look at the PF either). Although it would be far easier if there was just a right click > report spam button that worked on # of different reports received for the same character to avoid abuse of the feature. Just keep truckin' with that guildworks addon I guess.
guy on hyperion tried to sell their account in PF. it was taken down pretty quick lol
