You know...stuff like this makes me really wonder just how held together by 'duct tape' this client really is. SE always seems to have those weird little issues. I can swap from headset to speakers in damn near any other game without issue, but god forbid I want to while XIV running.
Same with clock changing. I know for SOME reasons in online games it could be bad, but if you ever changed your PC clock, you get kicked from the game, least I always did, which is still kind of interesting since in XI, when your PC ran faster than the client anticipated it essentially gave you flee speed.
I still can't get the fucking game to run for more than a few minutes.
You could always remove it.
On a side note, I love how people lose their shit if you so much as mention XI stuff showing up in XIV..but people seem to be a-ok with other FF stuff showing up..
Like this:
Wonder if it's linked to Hildebrand (fitting so it's easy/"can't halt progress of storyline for players") or if it's a VA boss/That "OOO trial."
Either way, I'm waiting for the Shadow Lord to pop up. Since Crystal Tower is somehow Allagan despite being a central FFIII plot point, I'm sure he has something to do with this world's storyline too somehow.
RE:Concussion
It doesn't help when you could remove it in AntiTower, but not A5. I guess this is why some people don't bother
Sure it's slightly different but yeh...
The memories people made in FFXI are what's special, not the actual mechanics of the game. It's like when people say "the new Ninja Turtles movie is ruining my childhood"; a new movie doesn't actually have the capability to reach back and twist someone's childhood memories, it's just hard to see something you remember as awesome (even if it was pretty mundane) be rebooted into something new that you look at with a more critical eye.
Of course we all made good memories playing the other FF titles as well, but only XI has been relatively untouched by things like reboots, remakes and comprehensive FF games. And I don't think the memories made from playing another FF title were ever so poignant for fans - aside from perhaps FF7, which everyone is used to seeing whored out as SE's #1 moneymaker at this point anyway.
Anyway, that's my theory on why people treat XI like that in regards to its content showing up in XIV. They don't want their good memories of XI conflated with their mere tolerance of XIV.
SE's servers are shitting themselves in Savage.
Thanks Yoshida.
was in thordan ex farm, and server problems too![]()
More annoying than not erasing Concussion is when a healer stacks regens on you so they can DPS through the damage output. I've been seeing this become a common thing and it bugs me every time.
Oh, I'm aware. I just mean that if you have the foresight to hit me with medicas and regens and whatever else in anticipation of incoming damage, you could do as much mitigation with one cooldown and let the tank also do DPS too. There's zero chance that one less stone 3 is going to compare to 8-9 GCDs from even a tank-stanced tank facerolling on their keyboard.
Oh that makes more sense. Wasn't covered in your post. I agree!
