False sense of "you conquered the raid check". I mean it was cool and all but after all the people complaining about "difficulty" during 2.x they don't want to keep people from clearing content anymore, content that doesn't reward good items that is, since 230 is really nothing if you kept up with lore, but for example Nidhogg Ex will be intentionally hard, but making demon lady hard would be a no no for the majority of your players.
That didn't quit over housing that is.
Nidhogg is a nicely balanced fight. A lot like Nabriales, in that - easy enough that it can be picked up and cleared by anyone, but still requires you pay some attention.
And yet, just like the new 24-man, people are still fucking horrible at it. My first group failed the DPS check - twice, even if we eventually won. thanks SCH who was just sitting there casting Physick!
If they ever adjust anything in Final Steps, I hope it's only just making the dps-loss check occur right before the 2hr animation hits, rather than right at the knockback which leads into the 10 second animation. Too many wipes where the thing died right after the knockback even with me on SCH multi-dotting that entire phase.
The rest of the fight is manageable even with shit dps.
there's a dps check in steps? it's the adds I assume?
I've not had to fake d/c to escape cancerous hugfest duty finders as many times as I have since this patch came up.
I am legitimately convinced that 50% of the people you come across in DF are kids who bought accounts or are people with severe disabilities.
You guys should make a podcast about it.
The game gives you no incentive to git gud so why would you? That's a serious question.
I mean, I get why BGers would be interested. Mostly MMO vets, battered FFXI wives or generally hardcore gamers but XIV is so far from that outside the 2% of content gated more by raid logistics.
I'd like WC to be a little harder tbh*. I mean, in a short time we're going to overgear it just like we do VA now. While we did wipe (3?) times to ozma, that was it and this was opening day.
*-And I don't even have seph ex/thordan ex/savage clears... (mostly due to not looking/trying for it really)
well that's frustrating. this group spent quite a while on 3rd boss of weeping city, but we cleared it with ~20 minutes to spare. wiped a couple times on the final boss, but the second wipe this one fucking whm kept like 4-5 people alive for a solid 4 minutes... and didn't throw out any raises. we timed out at 5% on the next attempt.
Due to the people's difficulty grasping the phases - not specifically any of you, but in general terms, it does seem to be an issue - I made some quick graphics to explain the phases
i forgot to include that putting them together makes meteors go boom, but it's 3 AM, and like I put in one of the images.... fite me

ps: i make tanks eat orbs because i don't want to risk margin of error with healers eating orbs. just my way of suggesting it, if you trust your healers, make them do it if you're so inclined
happy raiding.
Yep lol
Solo queued for final steps thinking how hard would it be. Pld, war and whm seemed competent. Sch dies to first aoe and pretty much every other one. Just too lazy to move as he just stood there. Wipe to dps check. Do it again and realise during dps check that all the other dps have damage down from Dino. They're ranged but too dumb/lazy to move.
Rest of fight was whm struggling to keep the other dps and sch alive as they just kept eating avoidable shit.
