FFXIV Random Complaint Thread II: DPS can't count to potato

the number of times i've gotten into shit with drks who won't use darkside is WAY WAY WAY too many.

alternatively, i've had groups yell at me for dropping darkside while pulling. like, i had it up while we were fighting, but yknow the first section of dzemael darkhold? how you bring everything into a mass in the blue aura? yeah, i dropped darkside while i was gathering everything up and they yelled at me.

i've kinda been taking a break, but dabbled a bit in the latest stage of the relic, and i am supremely annoyed the the continued existence of Accuracy. God damn it, I HATE putting accuracy on my gear as a healer. It's COMPLETELY FUCKING USELESS for healing, and impossible to hit cap anyway, because SE is fucking retarded. I'd love to do crit/det on my relic, but I might, at some point, get back into raiding and need the accuracy. so i'm stuck putting fucking accuracy on my relic weapon instead of something that actually lets me heal better.

it's a fucking stupid stat anyway. kill it with fire and while theyre at it implement horizontal progression type stats! I want my old Meditate gauntlet/pants, shit like that. Maybe give you a choice of like 4 different special bonus powers for your relic or something. Book that increases Adlo potency by 50, or increases e4e duration by 30 sec, or changes dissipation so you summon both fairies (and lets them use cooldowns independently, while we're at it), or something cool like that. Creative shit, not this boring-ass passive stat shit.

capping accuracy on a healer should be pretty trivial with melds. More so if you spec the latest iteration of relic with it. May not apply on the day of new raid content release, but that's not specific to healers

Remelding the relic only requires the sands though not the umbrite, so it's incredibly easy.

Just do your crit/det and enjoy it, then if you decide to get back into raiding and need the accuracy you can change it.

That said though I completely agree that acc is a useless and annoying stat, didn't Yoshi mention recently that they were looking into doing away with it?

This would bring me back to the game immediately. The only reason I have stopped playing, after playing since 1.0, is due to the completely dull itemization in FFXIV. Combined with the stale and overused progression model, I am left dreaming of a future that could have been.

Maybe one day the dev team will(or be allowed to) take a risk and implement some interesting progression into the game, rather than falling back on statements from Yoshi-P such as "interesting job builds and unique itemization will just be deduced to the most efficient path and handed out online preventing any of the uniqueness to show through. That these systems are better suited for single player games and that if you want that experience you should play one of them."

I would love to see some flavor added to the items, builds, and progression to FFXIV. Maybe one day they will get to the point where risks and interesting decisions that break the mold will be a thing. If that day comes I will surely rejoin the ranks of Eorzea!

Like the 1.x era stats with Healing potency and such. Too bad yoshi said if they do that it'd cause players to go after "must have pieces" and "create a rift blah blah."

Having to cap accuracy on my healers makes me sad, but at least we can cap it relatively easily without having to fill slots with stupidly low ilv items now (3.0, I'm looking at you). That said, I also agree that it's a terrible stat and I'd rather see it gone.

Every time getting rid of it is being suggested on the OF everyone just suddenly seems to love accuracy and defend it because "it adds so much depth to the game" (sic). More like, it's the only stat that you need to mind because everything else is so dull...

And then there are the guys who cried about missing in expert dungeons as healer because they were too cheap to do melds, so SE lowered the caster ACC cap for 3.2/3.3 dungeons to 100% with zero acc gear/melds.

Of course then that brings in the stupidity that is the lower-iLvl 3.0/3.1 dungeons still letting you miss, especially since the game can't fucking iSync materia melds.

I've done ~25 runs in Wiping city since it came out and I haven't seen the NIN belt drop once.

And it's the only piece I need.

I've probably done about 5 total, scored the DRG body on my first run, and then the hands on the next. Got lazy the following weeks and gave it 3 more tries on my tank to try to score the leg pieces but anytime I do queue in the horrendously long wait for PLD for QQ city, it takes an eternity and nothing even PLD related drops. I get more luck on my DRG and the tank ends up just going to collect his materia/eikon upgrade.

I swear Weeping City is biased towards NIN and MNK pants/gloves/feet and nothing else. Took me three weeks to even see a tank piece.

The belt dropped... and I thought well I am going to replace my Lore piece soon with an upgrade but not like.. within a few weeks. Now I am seriously regretting passing on it and the week is going to expire. I don't even want to login to FFXIV. Lol

Done ~30 runs trying for DRG body and the last two boss chests are NIN or MNK Hands or Feet most of the time in my experience.
I don't think I've seen the Healer, Tank or DRG bodies drop at all.

Did some DF Thordan last night with an fc mate because we were bored. Had three drgs that looked like they were all competing to be the poster child for the loldrg stereotype. Two wearing vit rings. Ones gear completely broke since he spent so much time dead.

The tanks were also garbage. Hate DF.

My AST getting Diurnal Sect right off the bat, but not getting any regen effects until level 34 (this might seem negligible for some, but I always have too much other stuff on my plate to fully devote my time to one class for long periods. I'm sure I'm not the only one), then at 45ish. I feel cheated.
