Yeah, never underestimate how bad people in the DF can be. My personal favorite was a 50dps DRG doing nothing but chaos trust.

Complaint: Tanks that wiggle Calci in Weeping City to "prevent movement"..

Like, it's not a huge deal but tanks almost ALWAYS fuck it up on the Depth Charge rotation and starts cleaving everyone or not knowing their right from their left. Not sure what's so hard about side stepping left/right when you see the blade forms since you have plenty of time to finish/start a new cast in the new position >.>

There's also a point where, and this may be dependent on dps clipping a phase or something, but she won't readjust between the time the hair grows and haircut goes off. I was tanking it and moved right as the hair grew, and she just stood there and went nope! and cleaved everyone.

I didn't even know that was a thing. I'm not coddling retarded DPS and potentially wiping the raid by trying to neutralize that attack. Move or die, but it ain't my fault.

I am FUCKING FURIOUS right now about the UK/EU promotional campaign
    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...nd-fat-chocobo

Buy 3 issues of a physical magazine which is not widely stocked, over 3 MONTHS
Then send in a selfie to said magazine proving you did this to get the mount
Oh and btw, pay DOUBLE what NA players are paying AND
It's too late to buy the 3 month bundle of the magazine, making it more expensive than it needs to be.

    FUCK OFF SE!

If anyone else wants to yell at them, here's the thread http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...d-fat-chocobo/

I think I had this happen a few nights ago. I can see how turning how kinda makes things 'safer' for dps, but you cater to them too much and they figure they never need to move for aoe. I really hate when the tanks don't bring her back to the middle, and then something happens and haircut covers 90% of the room...

complaint: Last night my brd (i222 I think, no materia, 210 bow, non optimal pieces) pulled nidhogg off the tanks in trial DR...

Tried to get back into tanking again.. bah WAR has like.. well lots of stuff. Had a bad pull in Stone Vigil.. some 2 aevis came with the wonderer while I was grabbing IN the hall and turned into huuuge pack. Well we got through it but healer left. And I was like 'Yeah.. this isnt going to work out..' and switched back to WHM for a run.

Later tanked Stone Vigil again to 'do it right' and got three comms. Doing tankning all day though.. just figured.. fuck it, Im much skilled at healing and sticking to that. Self-complaint: Wanting to tank, but aint getting it.

Still looking to heal my first trial. ( I dont like working with other healers.. from FFXi days)

To tank it's easy, for all 3 classes. Run into mob, flash/overpower/unleash and repeat until out of resources, then 1-2-3. Awareness is key, and knowledge of dungeon is helpful to avoid extra visitors. Experiment around from there once comfortable. For as long as the mob is smashing your face in, and if you die, blame healer lol

To heal with another healer, simply heal as you would. Most trials can be solo healed anyways, so if you want, ask the other healer to DPS. Don't be worried, this game is very easy and no co-ordination is needed unless you're at the highest difficulty content. Chances are, after the initial "over heal" of the same person, you'll begin healing different targets. And for area damage, you'll both use area heals anyway and everyone will be topped up.

I'd also recommend not just jumping back in around 40, especially for a Warrior that has more tools in their box than a paladin or DRK at that level.

You're a tank, so your queues are instant. I'd say hit Halatali to become familiar with the baseline MRD/WAR methods (which are basically Overpower packs and recoup TP for the next set), then do Haukke to learn how to work in your first bits of off-combo, then check out SV again. It can be really overwhelming to look at all of your buttons and try to assemble them in the right order. Paladin has it incredibly light for all of the 1-50 content, but Warrior has more nuance introduced a lot earlier.

I haven't done halatali, but I always do Haukke, and SV for "training".

Well, I started with WAR.. I can't say if the other 2 are easier, though I used DRK on a dummy some to get a feel for it but that's it. Usually I run in.. Tomahawk -> Overpower/BB combo/Maim combo/Overpower/BB combo til need to do maim combo again. Usually it's the pressure getting to me. "Am I pulling enough?" "Am I using my CDs properly..?" but it's often how I pull that exposes my lack of skill I guess. Mobs move when I need to move out of an AOE, which just fucks it all up after that, and my annoying habit of slowly cascading backwards..

Fuck that, you're the tank. You pull exactly as much as you feel you need to until you're comfortable. For a lot of dungeons it's more about knowing where it's conducive to going faster. If you're in a party of synced-down experienced people they'll chainsaw through everything anyway, so don't worry about that part.

The "I am slowly backpedaling because of AoE" is only a serious problem in a very small handful of encounters: SV is lousy with them due to the targeted large circles the Aevi do. If it's a cone, try dodging left or right of it instead of backwards out. Yes, this will twitch the other enemies in your group, but good DPS will know that's a factor and compensate. Your job is primarily making sure no enemies have their asses parked in walls so your DPS can hit their positionals. You have a very small grace window after an AoE to jump back to position without shifting the mob that did the move because they take 1-2 seconds to start up fighting again. I try to always stand just back out of the arrow in their targeting circle and have been playing the meta game of "dodge AoE, don't move the monster a milometer" since launch.

I mean, if you like healing better then you should do that. WAR is the most involved tank during the leveling process, DRK is a close second and PLD is braindead in comparison to the others. You'll get a hang of it if you stick with it, but I don't think anyone would fault you if you opt out. It can be more than a little pressure at times.

Yeah I played a lot of WAR for the instaqueue to get esos for my anima weapon, and it's quite braindead easy when you're comfortable with it.

Pull > Overpowerx2 > spread your 123 combo. Most DPSs are horrible and wont pull aggro anyway.

Big tip in your basic 3-pack is to not go ham on number 1. Go ham on 2 and 3. You only need to keep a mob for like the first 50% or so realistically and in an AoE situation it's highly likely that 2 or 3 will get peeled off by way of negligence over 1. So with the above "spread your 123 combo" I'd just put your 2's on mob1 until it's decently solid and spread around your 3's. The 1's are kind of negligible.

Also for what it's worth I feel every job is horribly incomplete before 50 and then 60 so pre-50 stuff being awkward is due to a variety of reasons. Your kit, DPS's kits, not having access to certain abilities, ilvl restrictions, etc.

The only reason to feel any real anxiety over healing trials imo is that you can count on the other healer being dead weight, or responding to HP bars (which in a lot of trials is too slow / risky) instead of reading the situation. If you excise the DPS-on-the-side all non-Extreme, non-"endgame" healing is pretty straightforward.

Nitpick, but having a Ranged/Healer in new story dungeon and don't stack on the 2nd boss. Makes positioning the cloud a pain in the ass when they're spread out.

Or that one ranged who stays way the fuck away and needs spot healing as a result on the last boss. Just stack up with the tank, jeez.

Also, the amount of DPS I come across who kill adds during Cauterize to build LB.....when we've been sitting at LB2 more than half the fight.

I'll kill adds during Cauterize to keep my enochian going.

That's the phase when the islands get destroyed, right? If so ditto for my speed buff.... except when someone else decides to "help" DPS

How about just "melee who sit on full lb when it's clear you should really be using it" in any situation.

So.. I wrote a big post, which got wiped away because I think something I said triggered this sites blocking algorithm or something.. -.-

Long story short, PLD was measuring his dick with a healer who couldn't heal through 15 mobs in Satasha normal. He said he has a lvl50WHM and "did raids" and played for 1 year. Our healer was new-ish and only played 5 months. He claims basically any other healer could do it. I wanted to measure mine too and say I played since beta and have 3 level 60 jobs, and then crush his hopes and dreams by saying there's bigger ones who played since closed beta, have all lvl60 jobs and would probably let your character die from pulling that much. And I personally can't heal through that many either. Maybe 8, but not an entire room.
