You don't even have enough CDs to cycle as a tank there to survive 15 mobs with no DPS AoE skills in that level range, unless it was with the useless fire things the clamshells spawn.

Yeah thought you needed a sch to pull like that there.
been playing since beta (i don't remember if it was open or closed) and have all but mch and ast at 60. you don't do pulls that size in ANYTHING under 50. you can sometimes get away with doing 2-3 groups if your tank is a little crazy, your healer is top notch, and your DPS is on point (ive done it; Stone Vigil comes to mind) but even that's not until 30 or 40, when people start to get their role-defining skills like, oh, say, FUCKING TANK STANCE
in short, you're right, that guy's a fucking twat
also, you might be able to get away with that with a scholar at low levels like that, but...why? no one has their aoe skills, no one has their mitigation skills, so all you're doing is reducing your dps by making your scholar actually heal instead of DPSing.
idk, when you have no bane and blm/thm has fire 2 the dps is better to have them aoe as much as possible instead of you dotting mobs one at a time. I'm speaking from experience too, had a run where tank decided to pull like that and the run was under 10 minutes. Certainly not something I'd expect from someone else in df, that tank was lucky I was on top of it.
The largest leveling dungeon pull I've done was in Brayflox normal. Had the tank pull everything between the third and final boss. It was a 3/4 premade though and the random was a BLM that knew what fire 2 was, the other DPS was a SMN so it worked out well. But yeah, doing large pulls in pre 50 dungeons usually doesn't end well (cept DD first room). Melee can cross class death blossom I guess for the lowest level dungeons.
There really needs to be an auto-pass choice or something. Getting tired of passing all the time and/or my inventory being filled to the max from dungeon drops -.- But I guess that will fall under the "We can't do that, but you can buy extra retainers" criteria.
Been trying Palace of the Dead as solo Warrior, definitely not my thing, dying to stuff out of your control is not my idea of fun, died twice to mimics after 30+ minutes in there, first the mimic had a huge level gap (5+ levels) and the other because as soon as I opened the chest, a mob spawned behind me and I couldn't handle both of them with the mimic being 4 levels above me. I'm all for challenges but when you're walking safely with all your HPs and whatnot and the next second you die due to back luck with spawns, fuck that shit.
Honestly, it doesn't seem as solo-oriented as SE was advertising it as.
It took me 10 minutes to solo the first boss on SCH.
So did it rescue FFXIV. Is this good content? XD
Yeah, all they said was you could go solo and see how far you get/leaderboards for solo versus going at it with a group but they probably meant for later. While I realize the only reason they won't let you choose floors is because of the Materia flood, it would be nice if cleared data can select floor range to start on, you know similar to the systems they were "inspired" by.
Clearing Floor 50 gets you a Gelmorran Potshard which can be turned in for a T5 Materia, 3 of them for a Minion, and 10 for a Mount.
They also have a low drop rate in the brown chests that drop potions and phoenix downs. I've seen two of them in in a combined ~120 floors.
But yeah, overall it could definitely use things to spice things up like random mini-boss spawns, and if not guaranteed silver chests from each boss, a guaranteed +2 or +3 for both weapon and armor for clearing floor 50.
tbh, it's pretty fun with the right party setup, like 4 healers or 4 DDs. It's also neat for those that don't have everything at 60, since you can bring level 1 classes in and try them out.
It feels more thought out than Diadem, at least, even if it's basically just a grind. Definitely not rescue-XIV, though.
You can also get completely assfucked by RNG, which is both fun and terrible. I had a floor where no abilities were allowed whatsoever, but also got item locked, so we couldn't clean the no abilities debuff.
(also, that means no removing/adding Cleric, so there's a slight gamble for healers).
On that note just steal everything from Persona.
