Yeah, so seems they didn't want to drop a guaranteed upgrade silver chest on top of it unless it actually does and due to the various amounts of other bugs (based on patch notes) it may just not actually offer it. So we'll probably see on the first hotfix what they really intended overall, hopefully throw in some feedback people have been offering.
Well, in regards to the situation I was complaining about (group wanting upgrades but didn't get any didn't want to abandon) I'll welcome when they change it, since I'm in agreement that it shouldn't be that way. Especially for df content where any person can just decide to look out for themselves and ditch before boss, and where simultaneously someone joining in progress screws them over too. A guaranteed upgrade from boss should've always been the case.
As far as the other rewards it's all just crazy. With this one event they've invalidated any other tome farming, as well as the levelling process. Go level your jobs in deep dungeon you don't even need to buy gear.
I was also getting about 200k exp for a 1-10 run (53-54 ish sch), so why would anyone ever do a levelling roulette? Or any dungeons period, outside of msq necessity.
...edit: and just confirmed, while the quest to unlock this is 17, you can go on a lv 1 job. 1k xp on lv 1 job (with 20% from helm of light and 30% from brand new ring), jumped from lv 1 to 3, not great for the time involved but still, nice for the rest of the rewards.
Also "brave new world" fc action works. lol
Scales with level. And 30 minutes ish a run that's better than Sohm Al. idk how it'll be for 59 yet to compare it to gubal, but then there's also the whole thing about dungeons not giving you tier 5 materia or i235 weapons...
Hell, the lack of monotony as well is a big plus aside from all that. I still wouldn't call it fun exactly but it beats dungeon spam.
On my 58 AST it gave about 700k a run for the final set.
I recall Gubal being worth a bit over a million EXP with Armory + Rested after the buffs though.
The exp maybe on the anaemic side, but levelling jobs without having to invest in any gear is icing on an i235 cake.
Gubal also gets exp chain bonus throughout so yeah, any time you're the right level for a dungeon that'll probably win, but without that there's a huge chunk of xp lost.
Though I shudder to think of a whole group of new players hitting 60 with their only experience being deep dungeon.
I think it would be better because they'd be forced to play with the level60 skill set for about 20-30% of the total time. Not to mention they still have to run through MSQ quests and the like so they wouldn't be complete virgins. I imagine the end product will be slightly better than pure FATE spamming.
Plus at least they'd have an i235 weapon waiting for them rather than be stuck with a i200 weapon because they didn't realize they could run Void Ark and get a gobdip to upgrade it.
True, wasn't thinking of how most dungeons are msq.
Um... you may have been capped on some tomes, all the numbers are multiples of 10. Except I'm not sure where you got 120.

why do new FF14 events allways look so good in paper, but are total shit when actually played... I unsubscribed again, i was really hopeing this would be something fresh ._.
Wait, you thought this was the real content for patch 3.35.
Please, we haven't gotten into atma Yokai watch grinding yet.
Tried Palace of the Dead over the weekend.
Everything said here sums up my thoughts on the dungeon pretty well. So much for a new Nyzul.
