FFXIV Random Complaint Thread II: DPS can't count to potato

It's about a 15%-20% drop rate per medal I've found, far from what atma ever was. People really exaggerate the drop rate and go to the first and only thing they can compare it to because they're just sheep following what everyone else has to say.

RNG is RNG. my 60 fates to 7 medals is not a 15-20%. but RNG be RNG

I definitely got my armor capped on level 5 solo last night. Weapon is still 5 points behind

Was at 16/16 on the poetic unidentifiable items and 12/12 on the esoteric ones, have vath/vanu tokens for 8 items so I went to even them up to 16 all. Not paying attention and got poetic items instead of esoteric and now i'm 20/20/12/12 and can no longer farm them in tandem, pushing me from like a week or 2 completion to easily a month+. So furious...

My SCH book came real fast when I was grinding the fates on PLD. Now working on another unrelated job (still on PLD) and went 20 some FATEs without a single token drop before seeing another. I may just call it quits on this shit until they bump the rates up to near 100%. This is ludicrous for a casual event that's only up two months.

pretty sure i've never been able to outrun a silver chest. i'll go test it out later. XP doesn't matter.

confirm, I've seen it, silver chest popped with no message of any kind and nobody's hp drop, and nobody calling out it's a mimic or using any skills of any kind.

The distance is fairly long, we had done a lot of runs before we started noticing. At first we were puzzled when my partner and I dinged at different levels, so we poked around with it and realised there was a xp range limit ( assuming you mean XP is unimportant; I disagree on the xp not mattering, SMN gets a much faster attack at 38, and smn at 50+ is a lot more fun than below, and PLDs clemency comes in handy when you get healerless 41-50, but that's a different discussion).

So we decided to test it on silver chests as well, since we were a bit concerned because the animation "radiated outwards", and lo and behold, be far enough away, you don't get the message. It seems to be +/- about 2-3 rooms worth of space between you and mob/silver coffer (I assume there's a yalm measurement, but we only had the map to use as metric).

it's pretty far though, so any group who doesn't have the idiot who runs all over the place away from group will never really encounter it.

Raid group exploded. We've been hanging on for 2+ months. 12 A7S clears with probably <10hrs in A8S since we are perma PUGing our 8th. Finally get a solid 8th and now people don't see the point in grinding A8S.

Really getting hard to justify playing this game......shit taste like shit eventually.

I feel the same now, static is now regressing and we're also constantly looking for an 8th member. We barely are able to pass A6S now. So it feels like a chore. I don't have fun either wiping to the same mechanic at the exact same moment on A7S.
And the developers clearly don't care about their community because they are wasting ressources on stupid things instead of fixing what needs to be fixed or they don't add fun and decent stuff to do. I would be surprised if next year there's still be end game content.

You'd still do that knowing boss gives arm and armor upgrade and knowing you can get upgrades at any level now?

Tuesdays patch. lvl50 boss gives +1/+1 and you can gain lvl upgrades on any floor.

Weird. I was getting "no effect" on my weapon last night. I assumed it was becaused it was synced.
