I'm frustrated with the steps to obtain the Miner i180 gear with blue scrips...

I've been farming red scrips for my i180 belt + right side, but I'm still not high enough in perception to get adamantite 530+ Fucking RNG with Impulsive + Discerning eye is retarded

Currently using HQ i155 gear + IV melds... sitting at 640 perception

There is a rotation to get 530+ it leaves you with one collectible hit per node. Not home to link I but I can when I get home. Those nodes cap super low so it's not an issue of your gear and you just doing the wrong rotation

You know those are horribly priced in scrips for what they are right? I can understand not wanting to buy the latest crafting gear but damn. My btn is at 786/795 and the only one of those I got was the belt, before the ironworks gear was implemented, but I'm also still using i55 accessories (yes i55 not 155) in 4 slots because it's just not needed. 628 gp, so when I need/want 650 I get that with vendor food. And the only crafted piece other than that is the offhand tool. Full i180 blue scrip left side, and upgraded i200 main tool. You really don't need to be banging your head so hard on red scrips for those accessories.

edit: Looking thru the live letter stuff and here it is

The mechanics may feel easier than The Final Steps of Faith Extreme for some.
Nid ex was already disappointingly easy to learn and work through, but I guess we gotta baby people even more than that.

Can't have a fight that is too difficult or people wont want to do it. Look at how many people sucked shit at Moogle Ex, but could perform Ramuh just fine. Even to this day people suck shit at moogle ex, when I'm doing mentor roulette if I get that I just leave and go play something else for a half hour or longer.

Not to sound like the OF, but Extreme fights shouldn't be maddenling difficult. After all they serve as a stepping stone to giving you a weapon in Alexander Savage.

Niddhog was pretty easy as well since the Ilvl requirement was 220 when everyone was ilvl 230-240.

Niddhog was a shitty fight with shit rewards. Don't know how anyone could go there more than once.

Yes, which means it should have some difficulty, not get easier and still offer a decent reward, because PoTD will already be braindead easy (that offers the weapon) which will negate running Sophia EX like PoTD negated Nid Ex. The overall XIV playerbase just seemingly can't handle any content that isn't piss easy. People barely can handle Weeping City mechanics.

Speaking of OF, people always like to say "elitist/hardcore players" are trying to ruin the game by asking for high difficulty content..the fact they consider easy content difficult and cry for nerfs on easy content you can wipe by being bad and/or stupid (final steps normal) says quite a lot.

Given the way they virtually handed out 235-240 gear, no one should really complain much since most if not the majority of players (that care) are already overgeared going into 3.4 unless they jacked the ilvl requirement pretty high on non savage content.

Then again...trying seph ex in DF these days is just....I don't know how some people function.

I just want them to go back to the Coil+Ex progression format like in 2.x, not because I don't mind AS difficulty but it just feels so weird ONLY having AS as the main means to an end.

Well...it was easy...so most people farmed it pretty quickly until PoTD rendered it obsolete by offering some better rewards.

But it shouldn't get progressively harder.

In essence what I mean is this fight is going to be designed for people in i230/240, like how Sephirot was designed for i200/210, and how Ravana was designed for i170/180. The numbers will keep going up in relative scale but the difficulty can't change too much relative too last time.

Nidhogg was a LOT easier than Thordan was. A part of me wants to point to Palace of the Dead for causing it (Who would want to try to clear Nidhogg when you can get a guaranteed weapon in the same amount of time it'd take someone who hadn't touch nidhogg a PotD weapon in 3.35).

More content within these tiers would help to try to smooth out the curve. My first time trying to seriously progress through WoW's end game made me wish XIV's dungeons had a lot more bite to them.

And relevance rather than just a tome generator.

Nidhogg is about as difficult as Shiva was back in the day; their difficulties are an acceptable minimum for the effort:reward ratio. Compare with Ramuh, who had more simultaneous mechanics than any previous primal and whose rewards were better suited for a Cracker Jack box.

I'm a bit put off by Sophia coming up "easier than Nidhogg" but whatever. Thordan set the bar too high for primal design.

Thordan's difficulty was just right for the content cycle it was put in. It fit as a fight around A1-2's difficulty and gave a reward that helped to beat A3-A4.

Don't waste your red scrips on accessories.

Red scrips should be spent on upgrading your five body pieces. Blue scrip weapon, Adamantite HQ offhand, red scrip armor, and crafted accessories. Red scrip accessories have garbage stats and are a total waste of time. There only use is for levelling desynth

With that gear I have no problem hitting lumythrite and smithsonite nodes with the basic 600 GP rotation.

And, to be honest, smithsonite and lumythrite dont even make that great of money on the MB on my server, I directly craft them into ingots and gear for profit. The real money from miner Im finding is on various level 50 nodes.

I haven't posted in ages but feel like bitching about the game during maintenance.

    1. Casual content is godawful easy. Dungeons need a touch more difficulty and there needs to be an option like with raid finder to only allow cleared people to join up on your queue. Make it give less rewards it some shit, I don't care.
    2. "Extreme" primals are a joke. If we can 7man it within days, get it out of here. I appreciate the Merc money I make off it, but would rather have a challenge.
    3. Speaking of a challenge, scripted fights are boring and a joke. You could in most occasions write a program to play your character. Zero thought required after initial clears. One of the reasons why fights in XI were a lot of fun was having to react and deal with the mob's WSes--a lot of resource management and buffs and gear etc.
    4. Gear scaling is terrible and creates completely dead content. Making switchable gear and upgrades for stats made so many older activities in XI viable for so, so long. Some are probably even viable to this day.

Not a huge fan of the stat distribution on the new BLM gear. Crafted has me going up in spell speed which is really fun and a playstyle I really enjoy, but then it all gets thrown away for scripture/alex gear. Three pieces of crit/sspd the entire patch, scripture ring, crafted neck, and Alex Normal belt.

It's not really enough of a problem to deserve this complaint, and sure, DPS will go up from going from gaining about 180 int, but it's... not fun? Is that a reasonable thing to say?

I thought it was "Forward and not given, Forward and not given one foot forward." Can you listen to it for me to confirm? The repetition is killing me.
