Apparently this was the same thing at last year's fanfest? I don't remember hearing about that though.

I think the moogle costume was mailed to the players after all the fanfests were all done so it is similar. What I don't get is sending out the tickets for the costume before you can even redeem them.
The Moogle costume is stil in my inbox because you can't store it and I'll never wear it
Mentor rant: Ok you've all been here before so it's nothing new, but for me it's the first time I witnessed this. The tank was obviously new and a GLA(see where this is going already?) about the only thing he knew how to do was fast blade XD. The mentor here was an AST and well I guess being smacked for half the dungeon before finally speaking up was grounds for rudeness as well. She was like "use flash.." lets him die and now we have three tanksI saw that ALL 3 of them were french.. so I told her maybe he prefers you say that in french. Of course this is DF and communication is the most horribly lackluster thing in the entire game, and thus I was promptly ignored - I said nothing else after haha. She never explained to him and instead got upset that he stayed dead.
I wasn't going to stick around for the rest of that and just took a penalty. And for you folks that play on NA servers(been 1 1/2 years since I left Malboro), I get in french parties all the time. It's fantastically amazing how they often butt heads with each other. I feel bad for some of those compotent french tanks who have to deal with stupid DPS. All the french speaking/negotiating in the world doesn't make those guys listen, so the tank is often forced to vote kick them.
Also mini complaint, since I'm leveling MNK up slowly.. tanks moving to dodge AOEs is fine. Tanks constantly moving for no reason is seriously annoying when trying to pull off positionals.
I was wearing the mentor crown twice last night in the roulette, both dungeons, with one slightly similar incident:
Halatali - In progress, right at first boss. I was healing, I told everyone in nice (but simple) detail to ignore adds, rush the boss down -- the adds appear later, the archer asks "so we kill the adds right?" and then there's me typing "no no kill the boss". I think he has his chat log filter on maybe... but ultimately it's not a big deal, we spent an extra 30 seconds on boss I guess.
DF can be summed up into just a few dungeons.
Leveling: Toto-rak(nearly all the time for some got damn reason), Deepcroft, Satasha, Vault, Sohm Al, Braflox Longstop.
50 roulette: Satasha (Hard), Hullbreak Isle, Temple of Quarn(hard)
Trial roulette: Chrysalis(another one that appears frequently), Bismark, Ravana, Moogle King thing
All not mentioned are sometimes.
Not sure about the others, as I don't run them. Though I wouldn't be surprised if Mentor roulette is basically Ramuh EX and Ravana EX.
A huge amount of the dungeons in this game is just wasted resources since they are rarely chosen by the DF system. The old and tired excuse of "it picks dungeons based on who has it for first time" doesn't work here, since you'll find yourselves often thrown in say, Satasha with 3 other people who out level the place 4 times over.
guy in my FC was trying to make fun of a group of us for wiping on unsynced moggle mog EX the other day, until literally everyone else was like "well yeah, duh" cos it's one of those, too. gotta be extremely careful not to accidentally kill moogles too soon lol
You can actually just full burn mog ex with current gear now ;o
You mean rush him down before he can get the move off? Not done the fight in a while (I hate moogles) so I don't entirely remember.
You could if you're coordinated, proc it too soon it catches people off guard because they're generally tunnel visioning to kill the moogles. Technically you can full burn all primals pretty quickly (even 3.x era ones) but a few of the 2.x ones have auto wipe mechanics if you're too good..Ramuh..Leviathan..Ifrit Ex...
Yup, with 4+ people you can just AOE them down... with Holy/Flare/Deathflare etc they go down fast. Memento comes out so slowly that you can just kill off the remaining ones before it goes off.
Even if you fail the first try you're going to get echo and defeat them even faster.
yeah, dunno what others' gear was like but I know i'm still sub-230, so not sure how feasible that would have been for us. i'll keep it in mind next time though.
but this guy was mocking us for wiping AT ALL which is just silly, given the mechanics of the fight.
I hate people like that.
I got mocked for not keeping a Ramuh EX tank alive with 15000 hp (fresh 60). That fucking wtfpwn strike does 18000 alone and he refuses to pick up balls, what am I to do lol
"healer are you struggling to keep him up?"
Combined with some other mechanics like nails and leviathan bubble thingy and people mocking that with "seriously" or "really" makes me want to choke them.
I hate this patcher so god damned much. Doing a fresh install on my PS4 (stopped playing the game a little after Heavensward came out) and it only makes it to 1049MB before I get error'd out with [20512][25008][20495]. Several people on gfaqs are hitting the exact stopping point as well.
Half my old static is randomly on and not AFK last night. Do a five-man 2.x Extreme Primal world tour (with detours into T4, T5, T13, Ultima and Odin) for lulz and Wondrous Tails. Have more fun in one hour than I've had in three months. Even get a pony.
Complaint: Where the fuck is the other half so I can have this level of fun on content that matters?
Lulz: Lala member that historically was always punted over the edge in Titan X...still falls off the edge a year later.
Bringing out the Dead is clearly one of the most inane quests I have ever done in a MMO
it's not as tedious as some other ones but there's just something especially loathsome about it. "interacting... interacting... interacting... interacting..."
When the server decides to hold your character in limbo for 10 minutes following a D/C.
