Yes, the Kuribu will oneshot undead enemies so you need to save a few of those pomanders and have one player use them as necessary. Without the adds the boss is a joke.

I don't remember Regula Van Hydrus having cleaving auto-attacks, but even if he does, they're mages. They can just take a few steps out of range if for some reason they find themselves close to the boss.
Obligatory complaint: The utter inability of Primal's DF to one-shot A9N, even on reset night. Yesterday I learned both what happens when Full-Metal Faust touches lava while still alive and what happens if Refurbisher 0 eats Full-Metal Faust. Neither are pleasant, but at least the lava wipe is instantaneous.
I'm impressed it took you 4 whole weeks to see either of those scenarios. I've seen then at least once a week.
My personal favorite week 1 Alexander DF derp was the healer who stood on the spike floor button because "I don't take damage from the floor here"
This one's for Kaiyoko.
[22:32][NOVICE]Cherie Marechal: And if you need proof that floors 101+ are designed for only the poopsockiest of players, if you wipe at any point past 100, you're sent back to 51
The restart after wipe part? yes
Is it just me or is DF getting REALLY bad now. Sometimes Extreme gives a great party that clears dungeons in 15-20 mins but lately every other roulette has been dreadful. I just did a Nidhogg trial roulette and a whm with at least i255 gear ran away from Akh Morn..twice. A wipe followed. No one said a word about the obvious mistake. I spoke up and explained the mechanic (though I did say, "The damage needs to be SHARED (in caps)"). No one said anything at all. All the thanks I got for correcting the whm was a snotty comment from some rube named Citiant Magini who said I need to 'learn' materia because despite every piece of mine being covered with critical, accuracy, or spell speed materia, I had one determination materia thrown on my shire hose as a stop gap.
It's getting that calling people out on mistakes is a sudden No-No but its damn important for them to learn.
Yeah, it's pretty terrible, it was terrible even a day after Nidhogg came out for example because most people who could clear it did it and never touched it again so you only ended up with people new to the fight or people who can't comprehend MECHANICS YOU'VE SEEN AT LEAST 4 TIMES BY THEN, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE GEAR FROM ANY NORMAL/SAVAGE CONTENT.
I literally think A11 is one of the few times you get an indicator that says "gtf away from this person/party" that isn't a prey type mark. I understand not completely remembering 100% every fight you did for the past 3 years, but muscle memory and memorization of at least the basics is a thing. People really do love to insult you if you try to call them out, even nicely. "Hey you need to stack with the party.." (insert it's my $14.95 I play how I want) and onto the 3-7 wipes until vote abandon on an easy encounter if people refuse to kick them.
Its a new indicator (That was obvious after they added the stack indicator in 3.1).
Doing Ravana for the first time after almost a year was an exercise in "Oh right do this." as the mechanic was happening. But yet people will still stand in middle during dashed because why the fuck not.
Been trying solo BLM on PotD for 100+. It took a few tries, but I got up to Floor 130 for the first time today! However, I've hit a bit of a wall.
Normally, with Strength + Steel I can at the very least break even with a boss's damage with spammed Physick and it just becomes a matter of patience and being conservative to win. The 130 Boss just does so much damage I can barely survive even one boss rotation. It's a bit frustrating!
I'm thinking I might have to just zerg the fuck out of it before it kills me- Lust Pomander + Int Potted opener with Strength, since surviving for a long period doesn't seem to be possible. Using INT Pot also shares recast with Max-Potions, disabling it for 5 minutes... so it's really do or die.
The boss is immune to stun too, as I tried with Resolution. I'm pretty sure Blind Potions and the like wouldn't work either.
Hmmm.
Yeah, even the trash starts getting really mean.
- Morbols with the Sleep + Slow > Bad Breath combo = nope nope nope
- Hasted squirrels that attack at hundred fists-esque speed (Thank God for Lethargy).
- Snake Poison for 800HP/tic.
- Biast insta paralyze > aoe damage.
This is probably one of the only times I have found status ailment medicines really, really come in handy. Never thought I'd use them until now...
Debating on trying a THM build for something more defensive but, there are some pretty obvious offensive drawbacks. We'll see!
Okay, SE needs to remove Nidhogg from Duty Roulette Trials. It should not take a freak'in 25% bonus to clear. People don't even bother researching the fight before they start. I am really starting to lose my cool with carries. Maybe you should listen to the i255 BLM who is trying to help and avoid needless wipes?????
If you're doing trials as a job that's already 60, just quit whining and go SCH. You can solo carry pretty much any fight no matter how bad your tank/healer/group is and basically add an extra DPS if they're not terrible.
^ The above is true. I specifically upped my SCH's ilvl just so I can mentor roulette "peacefully".
Also, if you queue w/o something on like a body piece it'll drop your ilvl enough for it to not be an option and then you can re-equip in your trial. Well you might need to take 2 pieces off nowadays.
Yep ilvl manipulation is the best way, people do it in reverse to get their 'off jobs' into certain duties they should be no where near touching.
18 total runs to get my items from normal alex this week, bleh. 6/2/7/3 respectively.
I've decided to stop doing them. I have enough for 1 full set at the moment, but aside from A9/A10 for accessories I rather not grind/fight for them nearly endlessly each week, it's depressing. Plus, none of the gear actually looks that good (MNK/NIN and the tank set excluding head, has my vote).
I rather buy the crafted stuff (left side only) if I was serious about playing another job. Currently dumping scripts into healer gear.
I do them as much for practice of raid-type content on my off jobs as i do for the actual gear. I just don't want THAT much practice.
