FFXIV Random Complaint Thread II: DPS can't count to potato

Yes, the Kuribu will oneshot undead enemies so you need to save a few of those pomanders and have one player use them as necessary. Without the adds the boss is a joke.

It also hits the boss for like 4k a shot.

So I get home after my cousin's party kind of tipsy but not enough to not play some vidya. A few friends ask me if I want to run some dragon skin maps and then WC for weekly materia. Tell me why I knew the moment I saw 2 other Warrior tanks, it was going to be me main tanking? Which I don't mind at all, I love tanking. Unfortunately my other 2 friends ran as DPS and we didn't think about having a healer in our pocket, so everything went okay until basically the Emo looking boss Forgall. Half the party either died or DC'd at one point, I am not even joking. Our healers both died multiple times and I end up dying as well as the group. Group B that vanished somehow makes a comeback and finishes him off. Ozma.. lmfao our healer was on the wrong group and the other died somehow fell off. Group B somehow dies again at the start. We wipe it.

I am not finished unfortunately.

THEN we get to the final boss. Everything is going well until the very end, again both our failure healers get hit by the very easy to dodge AoE's. None of the other healers in the alliance decide to bother to keep me alive so I die, and then something almost magical happens. Of course NONE of the other 2 warriors even try to voke and let the poor BLM face tank the fucking thing while the BLM's healers desperately and admirally keep him alive while nuking the shit out of it. Me and my friends were in Skype almost dying of laughter at this point. BLM finally goes down after I think 2 straight minutes of tanking it and me telling the other two morons to provoke and combo it. Neither reply but thank god the boss dies.

Best part was one of the tank's healers were trying to defend their tank saying "HE HAD HIM calm down!"

Surprisingly, I seen people still wipe to undersized because of an awkward push that forced the sisters out and all 3 did the "wipe" aerial blast lol, so even with all ilvl250 folks it was still a wipe >.>

Especially now when people try to ignore mechanics thinking their high ilvl will negate the few that still matters lol.

There will always be idiots that ignore mechanics thinking they're high enough iLvl. I had 3 wipes in a row happen on the first boss in ST once when I was farming light for the final upgrade to my relic weapon since people thought they could burn her down before her AOE petify went off.

You'd think after wiping twice people would think maybe they shouldn't ignore mechanics, but nope.

lol yep. there are some times when it works - Glasya Labolas, where people who do mechanics actually cause wipes - but things like Primals EX, man.


note that I am ok with people dying to mechanics if they are legit trying. but how many times does a DPS have to fall off the edge of Titan EX - not, not because of Landslide, which I would understand! because he was standing in the goddamn red zone during Geocrush - before I give up

also, it turns out that Legacy controls FIX EVERY-FUCKING-THING with dodging AoEs like landslide. just turned that on last night and holy shit is it a lifesaver. most of my problem was trying to turn and dodge and by then it was too late

you know, leve allowances really should be refunded if your duty pops in the middle of it. they do so many other things correctly with duty finder (most notably, the ability to fight as another class/job until the duty pops) that this one boggles my mind.


I'm nitpicking; I'm almost always at 100 anyway. but I'm finally getting around to Blood for Blood (DONT YOU JUDGE ME, I WAS CAUGHT UP IN THE STORY) and so I'm running leves pretty hard while I queue for ex primals and such. I doubt I'll ever hit 0, so w/e but it just annoys me
