It's about 20% now, from what I can tell. and I'm pretty much getting carried by ilvl260+ people so I'm not actually complaining here, just a hilariously bad lotting day today

also got a badass ice bow for my glamour so all in all, could be worse!

Yeah, its part shitty design part forced anti-burn mechanics.

Ifrit ex you can auto wipe if you push him beyond 15% before taking care of the "dps" check nails.
Ramuh Ex you can auto wipe if you push him beyond 47% I believe it was
Leviathan Ex you can auto wipe if you dps too good
Garuda Ex you can auto wipe if you have an awkward push that summons her sisters then pushes her immediately into aerial blast x3

They seemed to move away from "auto wipe" mechanics because I guess they felt 3.x no one would be good enough to skip phases so they didnt feel like punishing you for being good at an easy game and instead, punish you for being bad at an easy game.

As for stringing the story along, I liked XI's setup where the story is overarching, but not necessarily consistent so you can do them (to a point) in any order you want. For example Vanilla > Zilart > CoP was obvious in continuity, but ToAU/Wings/Abyssea/Mini-Addons/Seekers weren't strung together but added to the game's overall storyline.

Go ham on ifrit, leviathan, moogle, ramuh and you'll get 1 shot because hp threshold triggers instant death if you don't resolve the spooky mechanic.

Did some ex trials yesterday and did garuda ex, mention about the forced wipe if we go too fast, this one guy goes "I've done this a lot and I've never seen it so you're wrong." And I'm like wtf? Say in party "how exactly does you not seeing it debunk me having seen it?" He says something about "oh if your dps is good you'll kill adds fast enough" to which I say no, I mean if she's low enough the adds disappear immediately after appearing, less than 1 gcd in time total, and you wipe. Guy's still not convinced, I'm just sitting there facepalming.

Btw is it 50% for Garuda? We ended up getting her to 65% when adds appeared with 6 ppl (2 tank, 1 healer, 3 dps) so I don't even know how a guy would "do this a lot" and never see it, other than what I told him "maybe you just get paired up with people who know better and hold damage/not go all out? it is common knowledge now..."

I didn't know about the force wipe on Garuda and I've done it a lot too. But I rarely do it with more than 5-6 or with actual dps trying because it's faceroll unsynced.

I enjoy that my only drops from the Creator have been two Gobcoats since Week 1. Literally everything this tier is going to come via Manifesto-purchases it looks like.

Fuck this shit. Same goddamn garbage pool-filler going to the floor/drops that are anything but Fending every week. Still-sub iLv.260 and we're this deep in. Can't even win the Lanner from A12S either.

While leveling up BLM, in the Vale, we had a WHM that did not have protect, cure 2 and kept using the LB the second it filled. It was the most WTF experience I've ever had. I tried to help him but he was stoned and wouldn't listen. We still cleared because I helped keep everyone alive.

I hate when people try to pin their shit performance on being on console lol. You may have more of a load time than a PC player but the one thing XIV (annoyingly) does well is assault you with tutorials on how shit work and even has a 'new' playguide you can read...for example every time I swap to BLM it teaches me about the fire/ice buff like I didn't know already since 2013 >.>

Stoned enough to not know he had protect...that one's not quested, he couldn't not have had it.

For the record, I used to play this game stoned as fuck all the time - that is not an excuse.

Load times are actually great now that I've got a PS4 Pro and I'm only using an SSHD in it, maybe if I find a good deal on an SSD I'll pick one up to make 'em even shorter.

Never thought I'd see people do better in Titan Ex in DF than Shiva Ex. It's a miracle if people can get TO adds, let alone beat them.
