My group got lucky. Bird dropped in Zderp and a moment later the servers crashed.

I don't think it's so much new dungeons bring out the worst..it's just new content that doesn't require knowing how to play the game makes the "it's my 15$ I play the game how I want" players actually get off their ass and do content. Look at Dun Scaith and the amount of people who have no common sense or the ability to put things together.
Deathgaze casting Death IV? I better stand in the GLOWING DOOM LOOKING PLATFORMS.
Since they added the cross server party finder, i don't know if my server had slightly better people but oh man there are some god awful players now that join my PFs.
My god, there are so many bugs this patch. My new favorite is how someone who dropped from my ongoing hunt party kept joining my PF even though they were offline. This happened like 4 or 5 times lol. After I broke the party, I was unable to join anyone else's PF until I logged out. Wheeee.
My favorite bug is the fact players appear as dead, so they bolt around the floor dead, even though they're alive.
It's because Sarga didn't have a flood of bad players, like say...Balmung. Noticed a lot of bad players come from some of the smaller servers+Balmung in C. Finders. Like the Zurvan Ex learning I was helping with...I know it's a tricky fight never seeing it first off, but dear lord people sem to blank out when you tell them: "Stack."
For some reason whenever I teleport to Lavender beds half of the time my game would crash...
Yes, there's definitely a directx issue with something Lavender Beds. Happens to me and a friend quite often as well.
I think all servers have their share of bad players, you can't escape them. But some servers probably promote more of a "carry me senpai" atmosphere than others. Those RP and glam servers where everyone wants a bird but no one actually cares how well they're playing their role...
Guy on a ls I'm in asked a dps to jump into in-prog Steps of Faith so I was like what the hell. At least half the party being sprouts players, that's fine. But none of them bothered to learn how to actually win the fight even with me telling them explicitly what to do. DPSing it down was out of the question. I even saw a healer LB3! Ended up vote abandoning...good old steps of faith. I always know what to expect.
To this day this is still the first and only game I've ever seen have DirectX crashes. Not even back in the DX6 days did I get "DirectX(#) crash." lol. This is why I'm kind of laughing at them stating they're going 64bit support moving forward because their DX11 client is still all kinds of fucked up on some setups.
As for the "carry me", it's very very noticeable on Balmung, some groups are okay at best, very few "Farm" groups can even get past the first phase on any current ex primal, sophia included. I did notice though "LEARNING PARTY!" is always "did you watch a video?" Like, that kind of defeats the purpose of a learning party. It doesn't bother me, but it always irks me when someone who's clearly exploi..err farmed it joins and get pissed at people learning the content lol. Like I'm all for previous knowledge going in, but the Finder didn't actually say "This is a learning party, must know the entire fight and make no mistakes, tho."
Watching a video helps prepare you. I also believe that people should at least watch a vid or read about the major mechanics before going in. A person who is caught off guard by a new mechanic is fine; a person who is caught off guard by that same mechanic 17 times in a row because they refuse to learn it is a waste of time. Sadly, I run into the latter type all too often. People who proclaim at the start of a new fight that they "didn't even watch a video lol" like it's something to be proud of. These people need to stop wasting everyone's time and at least come in prepared.
I am baffled by the amount of people that cant dodge shit on the diabolos fight... its like, do you have fucking tomatos on your eyes?! And i dont even want to mention the amount of healers that dont even try to remove doom. I mean seriously i went in blind yesterday and died once in that fight (as a healer). I cant fathom or see how someone dies 6-7 times in that fight, i mean after you have seen the name and the mechanic its clear what it does. FFS they even use the same icons above people/mobs etc. that you saw in like a gazillion previous fights.
MMOs are actually horrible at teaching mechanics in a fight. That's why there is basically a side industry dedicated to producing guides that people watch before they even attempt stuff. Also he's using some hyperbole, it's of course always better if someone watches a video even if they're bad as long as they pay attention it makes them better at that fight.
MMOs teach mechanics by way of trial and error which is something that most people don't have the patience for and once they learn them, they have even less patience for others. From experience doing extremes and raids, watching videos helps but ultimately won't keep a new player from dying multiple times. Fights are long enough that when a mechanic they saw in the video comes up, they usually have forgotten about it, die to the mechanic, then remember what they were suppose to do after they died/wiped the group. I personally never watch a video before doing anything, much to the annoyance of some members of my raid static (then again, I'm usually the one that dies the least anyway), but most mechanics are pretty self explanatory after seeing them once or twice.
eyyyyyyyyyy data center issues, fun. got kicked out during expert. can't even complete version check to get back into launcher o.O
hey SE. guess what happens when you launch a new patch? lots of people come back. maybe you could, uh, be ready for that next time?
swear to god :/ there go my expert and 60 runs today. anima is enough of a slog already, come on now!
also I was in an expert yesterday with a SCH who wouldn't DPS and a BRD who spammed TP song but that's nothing compared to this.
