I wish. Did it before the little ladies event went live.
Also holy shit your tank's name.
Am I the only one that thinks 24-man bosses have too much health? Feels like the fights drag on forever.
Considering how fast Ultima gets burned down I don't think they do. If you somehow got 15 DPS who knew their rotations to an acceptable degree (Lets say they could manage a 2.4k burst on average). 2400*60*15 = You got 2,160,000 health down. And assuming the 3 tanks and 6 healers do an addition 800 each. 800*60*9 = 432,000 health.
So in one minutes you got 2.5m health and I wanna say these bosses have 6.5m health?
The bad thing is fflogs isn't showing Dun Scathe because Diabolos is a bitch that doesn't want to cooperate.
Sadly..fights only drag on forever with a bad group. Fastest I've cleared Dun Scaith was 20 minutes and that's only because of the Diabolos fight dragging out with the lifegate/transformation/stoneskin you have to break. I mean last night I queued into another group that wiped twice to ultima because they couldn't DPS down the collectors before supernova hit 20 seconds remaining. One BRD can only do so much damage :/
I almost want to put this in the random praise thread of "At least they're not tuning 24 man raids to assuming the DPS and tanks doing average or higher-than DPS per alliance, or else fights would drag on even longer." Could you imagine the shitshow if they tuned HPs to players doing average 1200 DPS per tank+DPS? No one would clear Diabolos.
i280 weapons in diadem are you kidding me SE...lol
Yeah, this is a huge "fuck you" to anyone who did Savage/ground out an Anima. They're assuredly BiS unless your RNG is so atrocious you roll Parry and nothing else, essentially. Even if they come from Emergency Missions only, that's still probably garbage players being carried through with the same chance to get a good dice roll.
jesus christ
who cares its all just exp gear
Still means some shitter who maybe did the bare minimum/was carried start-to-finish still has the same opportunity of chance as you who carried them, to roll great secondaries.
This gets a big old "whatever" from me. I was making an argument in another thread (although playing devil's advocate instead of really championing it) that the "legendary" relic weapons should be as strong as raid weapons; now we've got Diadem weapons being stronger than raid weapons. At this point, I think we're looking at a "preparation for Stormblood" mentality from the devs. I'm still gonna finish my relic(s) for achievements and glamour and something to do. I don't feel particularly slighted as a relic-creator because I have never made the mistake of looking at XIV gear as something that's gonna last me more than a week or two, if that. The item system was retarded, is retarded, and will be retarded. Forever.
If I bothered to do the raid, I wouldn't feel slighted either for the same reason. The incentive to raid in XIV has never been for the gear. I scratch my head at people who find that an incentive, because yeah it's slightly stronger gear but what are you gonna do with it? Epeen? You can clear everything in the game aside from raid easily without raid gear. Might shave a few seconds off your runtime...if you care about that. And then it just gets replaced with something stronger next patch cycle. What I'm trying to say is the real reason more casual/mids don't get into raiding is because the rewards are not good enough to justify spending the time/effort on clearing it in the first place. If you're not someone who has the innate desire to clear the hardest content then you have very little reason otherwise to make that leap. I should know, it's the reason I and many others I know don't bother with it. The fact the gear gets outdated next patch cycle is just one factor keeping people from interest in it. We're simply seeing that outdating now with Diadem.
What I'm a little more upset about is the lack of change to the airship system for Diadem. They didn't bother to change the structure, so once again going in as an alliance is pointless. What's worse for my 2-man FC is only being able to bring in 2 parties at a time because an FC member still has to be leading a party. It would have been nice to give someone one-time permission to fly the airship or something so low-man FCs can run more parties, but I guess that's not a big concern for the devs as fully outfitted lowman FCs are probably pretty rare. However, it matters little now as Hard Mode has been removed so assumedly you're going to get a similar experience between PF and DF.

Commence the salt.
Edit: DPS weapons have 2 weapon damage over Alexandrian weapons.
SCH book has +3 Magic damage over Alexandrian type.
If this is a hint at the gear climb of Stormblood numbers are gonna get YUGE
Like using idervy stat weights DRG has +2 WD (29.912 STR) + (202-189)[13 STR) so about 43 additional STR.
Which is equivalent to 154 Crit or 207 Det
Yeah these are easily gonna be BiS from the ground unless you get garbage substats.
I don't even think obsoleting the current gear is the problem here (although obsoleting the relic within a week after dragging the quest on for 2 years is pretty lulzy).
My concern is the content in itself: this sounds like FATE spam, pray for an S rank hunt, and then hope your drops have good stats. Is this load of bullshit really the way the best gear should be handled? Even if we ignore the rewards, it just doesn't sound fun to do at all, and it barely seems like an improvement over the first Diadem. This got delayed back in 3.3/3.4 because they wanted to refine the system or whatever and this is what we got.
I honestly don't know what I expected and hopefully I'm jumping the gun, but for now there goes all the hope for Eureka.
Its serviceable and probably a half decent way to pad the wait for 4.0
They've been working on this revamp since at least 3.3 (to our knowledge) and it's supposed to be the template for future content in Stormblood (Eureka). I really don't know what else to say beyond that, but I don't envy your standards.
Hopefully it's a lot better than it looks on this stream.
Like what else could they do to Diadem without revamping the entire thing over? We get FATEs instead of just waiting for NMs to spawn. Granted this is still the first couple of hours so give it some time before people figure out an optional routing on how to best utilize Diadem. For now the only real big salty part of this is the fact that i280 weapons are available which seriously outclass Alex weapons.
I'm going to guess i280 weapons will be on par with whatever drops from the level67 dungeon anyhow.
