endgame has been over since 3.2-3.3
New diadem is worse than 24-man Ultima. At least with Ultima we essentially got what was advertised. If you were expecting the "first 24-man primal" to be hard you haven't been following SE's 24-man design philosophy. It just went further along the path of being easy than expected.
Here we have old diadem, made worse in just about every way.
Diadem gives me a fucking headache. The number of "carry me" noobs is ridiculously high to the point where when my parties hit aetherial gap islands half the party isn't there because "how do I get down?" ad infinitum even after being expressly told how. Emergency missions have people rushing in ruining the instance or else they pop after all of the parties have left, leaving only a skeleton crew to try to take it down. We got people switching off tank immediately after entering with their insta-queue and people unable to follow the simplest directions or use their brain enough to figure out ANYTHING for themselves. And all of these people need a lesson in old-school XI aggro avoidance. It's actually a useful skill in Diadem but of course it's alien to XIV players so the # of wipes due to people pulling 17 mobs into the fate at once is too damn high.
And what is up with that giant pegasus? My theory: once it does a full loop around the islands the mission pops. Or it seems like it has something to do with the pegasus anyway. I was in the cave on the SW island looking for chests when I saw the pegasus running through the cave. I followed it until it exited and then it came to a stop outside. The weather changed to hyperelectricity and the emergency mission popped right after that. I dunno, just could be something.
is there any reason not to just afk after finishing your groups thing until the emergency mission pops?
I am just leaving after my missions. Not farming fates.
Completing objectives grants you some lockboxes anyway, I'm fine with that. Just need my mount.
I still want to find out what causes boss fates and emergency mission to spawn. So I try to stick around and farm fates, thinking that the more fates go down, the more boss fates will spawn. I'm not sure if that's true but it seems likely. Thinking maybe there is a hidden gauge that fills with every fate, more based on higher difficulty of the fate cleared. When no one wants to farm fates, I stick around for a while farming buried chests. If I'm used to the party and I like them, I try to get them to stick around in case emergency mission pops. It's a gamble every time you queue, and I'd rather do the mission with a party I have confidence in. Those are the reasons I stick around. But honestly it is more rewarding to leave as soon as your lockout timer is up and requeue.
Just in my personal experience I seen far more Emergency missions the first day than I do now, the only difference are more and more people are bailing after they clear the initial "mission" (get your tomes/loot etc.) Besides that there's only really 2 variables that could trigger the hyperelectricity weather - something to do with the roaming pegasus that stops at FATEs and the amount of NM fates completed (which again coincides with more people actually staying the first night.)
In my 9 runs today I only seen 4 emergency missions compared to every run having it first night. Then again, RNG is RNG, I highly, highly doubt there's "mechanics" like that in a game like this, the furthest they went were S-Rank and Proto Ultima (Azys lla) spawn conditions.
Our party finished it's objective when entering. A guy bailed right away after and not even a minute after he left the emergency mission started lol
This guy, Fondant Caramel, sat around idling while we did all of the work on the objective. Top keks ensued.

sounds like Ratatapa
But that whole party seems retarded too
We had a guy on his mount just hovering in mid air. We couldn't kick him. Don't know if it improves after mission completion because he stayed for the Em Mission and our mission completion and then left
I've been running Diadem with 7th heaven. Just go in and afk at the crystal.
Yeah that's what our guy was doing too.
WTB vote kick
I get that afking for the emergency mission if you don't actually want the gear is a valid way to do Derpadem right now but don't subject parties who actually want to do the missions to your laziness and leeching. It's very not cool. Just make an afk group PF for it instead.
That's reportable I believe, under the category where a player is actively preventing you from completing objectives (ignoring the fact it's still doable).
