FFXIV Random Complaint Thread II: DPS can't count to potato

Can confirm, tried to help a friend with T5 yesterday and with 20% echo the second highest DPS was only just breaking 200 DPS (he was sat at like 215 before divebombs) whilst I was doing over 500, if I got conflagged the struggle was real. SMN is probably the only class I've come across where I haven't seen unbearably bad DPS, and I'm pretty sure that's only because Garuda is doing half the legwork for them and not because the class is simple as fuck, because people still find a way to be terrible at applying some DoTs.

Friends joined a T5 PF last night. There was a IL110 ninja doing 91.

Much as they tried, they could not carry that party to victory.

How is it even possible to do less than 100 DPS?

I had been derping in light bonus hard modes on my blm to finish up the staff. Everyone was 105-115 range but every run they were parsing low 300's and I'm sitting a good 80-100 above them

Bad enough that FL randoms are generally shit, a fair number come in undergeared, healers are still kind of scarece, and people in general have poor tactical sense. Worse when they don't listen or just sit there 50% of the match "guarding" a point. Got kicked for giving advice without so much as a "stfu" "who cares" or whatever. Yes it's a great idea to keep zerging a point and getting killed 5 times when their OP had less than 4 people for the last 8 minutes and could have easily been taken multiple times over.

Sorry that I can't just turn my brain off and say "it's just a game" and not give half a shit of effort.

On a side note, I miss /sigh ...

also, being able to do "/sea all NIN 50-99 san" and it showing exactly what I want it to... in a 13 year old game... but being completely incapable of that in XIV just makes me miss /sigh even more.

This is why I gave up for the week. Maelstrom on my data center has been exceptionally terrible because of an influx of unfamiliars to the point where I told my LS I wouldn't step foot inside without at least two others partied up with me.

The funny thing is flames randoms are just as awful and I routinely hear "screw this I'm going to mael". (Different data center though)

I entered Darkhold, our tank immediately sat down and went AFK. WTF? I looked him up on the Lodestone and his gear was even more WTF. He had no head or legs equipped, ilevel 32 body and ilevel 90 hands. He obviously entered via roulette and didn't want to do the dungeon or take a 30 min penalty so waits 15 mins for abandon. I reported the guy for harassment but I don't expect the GMs to take any action.

Yeah GM's wont do anything. Have had it on multiple occasions, always been the tank. They come in and start dancing or just grab mobs and run in circles over and over and over. People find joy in the dumbest shit.

Why they need to get rid of the wait time on vote kick and abandon.

If some jackoff doesn't want to do a dungeon, they're not gonna do it, don't let them cockblock the entire party from moving on or leaving.

Enter Stone Vigil for NIN book.
Everyone looks like a newbie so doesn't look promising from the start.
PLD takes ages to load, finally enters and says "hi i will be your paliden for this game". His gear looks crap. He runs to first group, R0's 3 times during, we wipe since he can't even hold hate on 1 mob, let alone others so they kill whm and then rest of us.
We restart, WHM says use shield oath (didn't notice he was on sword), he responds "I don't have shield oath" (he's 41). Ohh boy.
After the next two pulls it become apparent he can't tank even 1 mob, but we had a blm so he slept everything and I tanked one mob, but I can't tank the boss so we abandoned after first wipe since he couldn't even hold hate on that :/

FL again. Slaughtering a party every time they come back to take our flag (they have 1 healer and he's a chicken trying to keep overzealous DPS alive). Do we push their OP because of how ineffectually weak they are and how poor the rest of our alliance is doing? Nope better guard this unchallenged flag for 10 minutes instead of doing anything productive. "they dont suck we jus know how to pvp"

Not sure if this is better suited for here or the OF fail thread, but apparently I just ate a ban from the OF because people don't like it when you point out their inadequacies and use basic logic. Then the guy figures his post warrants a passive-aggressive edit to remove anything he might possibly be reported for after whining about me to the mods.

Gotta love the OF in all its glory. Bads will be bad.
