So I'm in this keeper of the lake for msq, group is terrible, multiple wipes on first and second boss. All of a sudden server reset happens. Fml. Come back in pretty fast no que at least. 20 minutes left to finish with this terrible group and one guy doesn't come back.

Barely got it done in time.

Tanking that dungeon has always been a nightmare, no matter how good the group is, and I can never force the second boss to "behave". Just goes into "FUCK YALL" mode and spams that fire puddle shit. Then you got people that don't run to the wall, then you have the whole floor covered in those puddles = wipe.

tfw your healer in Doma Castle does nothing but Cure II in Doma Castle and you die for it, but get blamed anyway.

No Regens, No Holies, no Asylum, not even Assize on cooldown. No Presence of Mind, no Thin Air.

You'd think with all the Cure II spam they'd use Divine Benison, but not even that.

A couple pages back someone told me to use my poetics on stuff for desynth...anyone got any guidance on that?

Kugane brings out the worst in FXAA and makes me wish XIV had alternative anti-aliasing solutions already, or a built-in downscaler since nVidia's DSR is still kinda fucky.

That and their shadow engine needing an option to boost the resolution further. The lack of general extra graphical options this expansion was rather disappointing for me.

Nothing special... Just grab i230 or i260 gear to desynth.

I wonder if they ran out of time developing the Lochs as the last area. There were very few quests overall in the zone in which to to level and it was disappointing how quickly we rushed through the entire zone to complete the storyline. There's a ton of areas that never got any use. There was not even a bunch of quests in Ala Mhigo

You're almost level capped and you've already received every piece of gear. Many more quests wouldn't have made much sense

Azys Lla was the same, just a few quests and you were done. Would be nice if they added max level content to the final area in future patches but since they didn't do it in HW I'm not holding my breath.

I was wholly expecting them to do something with Azys Lla as well as part of a raid'ish like open area, but nope. Just another zone with entrances to instanced content and nothing more after the MSQ.

At least in this case, I can see it being the point of focus for 4.X content though, or at least some follow through on the events.

I felt/assume similarly, although it concerns me that the Lochs lack the grandeur of Azys Lla. Seems like a boring stage to set a branch of endgame content

I can see the sentiment but part of me is glad they kept it more grounded. Azys Lla was really outta left field and it felt like an intetesting twist for an ending area in HW. I'm glad they didn't like.. Idk, do the same thing. I agree that the Lochs do feel somewhat underwhelming when compared. However it does feel like the proper place for the MSQ to end. For now, anyway.

My main qualm with Azys Lla is that it's largely unused. There's a lot of areas that are basically just background noise and only slighty expanded with fates in a little blurb.

Finished Heavensward main story last night as a DRG, and I gotta say I was pretty disappointed that in the entire storyline, me also being an Azure Dragoon was mentioned maybe twice, at most. Just give me a little bit of flavor text is all ask. Meanwhile I'm standing there with Estinien and everyone is like, "Wow, it's the Azure Dragoon!!!...oh, and you too. Hi."

I hate the lochs I have 2-3 current I can't find how to climb there

Azys Lia gets a bit of facetime with the Warring Triad quests and Anima. But yeah, it's vastly underused for such a massive, detailed zone.


Also, unlocked the final trial before I did roulettes today... of course, the final trial popped up. Yeah, that didn't go so well. I did not have the time, but in the end that didn't matter because someone abandoned after one wipe anyway.


I can already see this is going to be fun.

Lochs goes back to the HW current methodology: go all the way around the map.
