Srsly can't wait. Gonna have all my crafts to 70 soon as well.
The problem with the game really. I'm leveling AST to 70 so I can queue faster but there will be a point (basically now) where I have to choose between RDM and AST.
I want to level and gear AST to better gear RDM (and anything else) but unfortunately the game doesn't work that way.
If you're not spamming thin air+presence of mind+holy+assize and ignoring everything else, you're doing it wrong.
My own complaint: can't do Thordan for WT because every party has half the people who never cleared and don't know the mechanics. It's such a unique mechanics-heavy fight that it's very difficult to teach them in a meaningful way on the fly. Even if they can stumble through the first phases, final phase kills them 100% of the time.
If it wasn't for AST healing would be so depressing in SB, so much for that "we don't wanna introduce a new healer and focus on balance" lol but that was probably for the best. Imagine a new healer dropped in this mess. At least most DPS jobs are fun to play.
The Cleric Stance adjustment alone makes up for everything else, for me. I know I'm in the minority though
Healer isn't bad, just SCH.
WHM is more or less fine. Yes their gauge is lackluster but honestly they don't even need Confession. They have basically unlimited MP and they can push out a lot of dps and the best healing in the game. The only thing in their set that isn't good is Confession. Plus, who thought WHM playstyle was going to turn revolutionary? It's the same as it's always been. So *shrug*
I'm annoyed because people are already excluding SCH in PF for Primals -.-
In all fairness, this forum is contributing to that particular problem. Elites say the sky is falling and the playerbase grabs their umbrellas
Scholar does feel pretty miserable to play to be honest. Most of its new abilities feel great, but a majority of the old ones got decimated in the process and its healing potency without Aetherflow feels like trash. It isn't terribly weak though. Most of the top groups on FFLogs atm use Scholars, and they've been pulling some serious DPS numbers.
Going to encourage my fiancé to play sch.

Wasn't SCH always kinda a little weaker at the beginning of the expansion because of how the pet scales from stats and how it's usually in a giant trough at the beginning before peaking out late?
If it weren't for AST feeling like it still plays like a 3.0 Job I'd be bored with healers.
SCH gutting hurts its dungeon play, optimizing its mulit-dot DPS rotation with clerics bouncing and bliz2 kept it interesting, now it doesn't have that, and its new tools are meh.
WHM is still rather....simple to play, more-so with Thin Air allowing for PoM Holy bursting without needing to worry about MP management at all.
AST just got further layering upon its card system which comes up often enough to distract my mind between stacking HoTs and mashing Gravity.
Earthly Star is extremely satisfying to use, at least for me. I just love that ability. And at least their exclusive UI is worth it and feels well implemented instead of being tacked on for the sake of having one. Granted that this applies to other jobs as well but healers suffer from this the most because their gameplay has been stripped to the bone, except for AST.
I picture it being really nice in raids once you memorized the rotation to have it blow after large raid AoE, because the healing potency on it is ludicrous, and likely getting nerfed come Savage. Puts Cure 3 to shame, has larger radius, and is free on a 1min CD.
Thus far my experience with it is positioning it on the target mob so the tank can get hit with it.....and half the time the tank just runs out of it. I'm chalking it up to tanks not quite knowing wtf the skill is yet at this point.
I've seen some ASTs use it well in Omega already, placing it before room-wide AoEs to immediatly heal right after. Although as RDM I'm usually out of range but I try to step in in those situations.
In dungeons it's pretty much a gamble.
I like getting killshots with it. Detonate it right as the boss is about to die XD
