Ground AoEs work well IMO. Not from a damage pov but noobs tend to run from them so you can place them to spread out a group or force movement. On SMN you can SC SF and stand in the middle of it. 9/10 players will leave you alone.

Ground DoTs are really useful in FL, the grav from Doton dropped at a choke point can really screw with people and and the Slow from SF is nice as well.

It wakes and unbinds people. Putting it on a flag is basically a free auto-Esuna for enemy healers/tanks. Slow is debatable but I don't see Doton ever used intelligently.

People will intentionally stand in them anyways to not get slept/bind is the point. I avoid Shadow Flare if I can because of the slow but I see no reason to run out of Doton or Flaming Arrow.

Aside from the fact that AoEs are gonna happen on the flag, keeping their people on it helps maintain their hold (if you're trying to take it) or makes it easier for them to take (if you're defending).

Maybe it's a data center thing. Nobody does explicit AoE in Primal Flames except Bane sometimes and Flare sometimes. I've been kept slept on the flag for long periods of time, assuming they don't just burn me down to begin with (because healers are exceptionally bad about Esuna).

I'm under the impression mrd > war for damage purposes in frontline. I don't see a war trumping a mrd doing b4b/rs/berserk bb combo for bursting down healers. Then again all I see are wars so maybe they know something I don't.

Also its so painful covering a solo healer, and knowing hes going to die anyway once it wears off. Shield bashing left and right can only do so much.

Even with classes dealing 10% less damage and taking 10% more compared to jobs? 2.4 patch notes.

MRD was nice before 2.4, but with the job adjustments to damage dealt/taken, not anymore.

IBx2 is more burst damage than anything MRD can muster.

0/21 on Lost City of Amdapor. Christ this dungeon is boring. Maybe it's because I'm doing runs with an i130 weapon. Game is like "you don't need this in a hurry".

Also:
- Tanks. Stop dodging the poison from the adds on the 2nd boss. You would think they'd learn after the 4th add in a row they fail to get scale flakes on them.
- Healers. Stop doing doors. Unless your dps are catastrophically bad.

also doton is awesome on the flag to protect your healers. i play smn like 99% of the time so it's aoe time all the time. once on the flag i don't have much use for cc other than to give healers a bit of breathing room so the more aoe from everyone the better.

You have that backwards. There's no reason you should ever pull DPS off of Diabolos to do doors unless the healer is pants on head retarded.

Yep, he doesn't dish out damage when he's prepping. No need for healing, but the DPS can still do damage.
