Well into the "there's fucking nothing to do" point in between patches.

Also I really wish SE would drop this whole Rogue thing in regards to NIN's gear design.
If you wanted to make THF you should have made THF, now give us weapons that actually look like katanas and stop dressing us up in ARC/BRD gear.
(it's inevitable that they're gonna be copying gear sets but they could at least copy the MNK sets)
T13 3rd divebomb sucks.
That would be the ongoing debate at the moment. Pain tank dies or is too far from heals and dies, we don't know where to put him or healers relative to him and how to compensate apparently.
man, coil loot is a bunch of bullshit. not a single striking drop for my group since 2.4
From what I understood about NIN is theres not a lot of NIN attire in our land yet, perhaps they'll play the "Lore" card as a reason for our limited supply of Katanas and Ninja attire. But, I have to agree with this. As much as I enjoy the idea of THF, and it should have been THF... if they decided to name it NIN for whatever reasons there should be more NIN gear. At this point I think the Fuma set comes close-ish.
Also agree on the copying bard gear part... stop that SE, its dumb.
Our WAR handles the last Pain, and we have him save vengeance for the final dive. Buys us enough time to dodge and deal with megaflare without having to blow lustrates or bene to get him back up at the last second.
Just need folks who end up near the WAR in their assigned dodging spots to scoot inwards immediately after the dive to avoid any extra splash damage.
I was having awful lag and packet loss consistantly after 2.4 launched, now the game has been running great since i switched ISPs. except of course during the ddos fiasco.
Been a while since I DPS'd so I don't get this whole DRG "410 DET" set shit. I feel like a nub.
Must have done about 25 Turn 6's this week so far, and I've yet to see a single slaying earring drop. I'd be even more mad, if this a weekly lockout still and gone this long without seeing one. =/
complaint: fucking drg now can dish out more damage by just doing the same shit as before
with nin in PT, drg dmg and TP upkeep is boosted while nin got nerfed
got a feeling SE nerf nin based on dummy dps than seeing how other jobs actually boost DPS with goad + TA -_-
What's the problem? You know the DRG wouldn't be doing quite so much without your Goad and TA, you shouldn't be salty that an equally geared one can keep up or beat you.
well i suck at ninja but every fight basically feels like a training dummy fight anyway, just sit there and do your rotation. Don't even get penalized as bad as blm for moving. Just have to be in melee range( oh dear) and having to chase things is ass, but thats it basically/
NIN's "rotation" (if you can even call it that, it's very difficult to boil it down to a simple rotation, at best you've got a hierarchy of priorities) is quite a bit more involved than the other melee.
I find it best compared to SMN in that you have to do quite a but of resource management in synchronizing multiple cooldowns and buff/enfeeb durations for maximum effect.
DRG: 2 FT per CT, Heavy+Phleb every 2 combos
MNK: 123-456, repeat (ToD if TP permits)
NIN: Syncing Huton duration, TA recast, and Ninjutsu recast, in addition to maintaining an abnormal melee rotation frequently skewed by Mudra cast times and having to track DE/SE application/overwrites.
DRG was more complex before they removed the directional requirements (which I still think was a good thing), but now they only have 2 directional bonuses and even though they only have those 2 they're penalized far less (on average) than MNK is for flubbing them despite every single one of MNK's WSs being directional.
eh idk, I still outdps/outdmg every mnk and drg that I PT with even if they're 3-4 ilvl above me, maybe they're just not good idk.
Wasn't trying to say NIN wasn't a strong DPS, but the nerf, especially combined with the buff to DRG, was quite unnecessary given the amount of effort it requires to play well.
