I dunno, I'm with Niiro on this one. I think MNK is probably the easiest melee (and they're all pretty easy, Ninjutsu delay is just an artificial difficulty).
Tank isn't there to do damage yo. Also, the only oath PLD has is Shield Oath, which must be up 100% of the time or you might die.
Then if you parse you can see how shit they are. This one was rare and surprising cause 2 dps were at least able to beat the tank.
Spoiler: show
Definitely drg.
can guarantee the easiest melee is drg (as of now with the patch to make them not total pieces of shit)
i raid on monk, but play all 3 in various forms of content, and to me ninja feels the most "do shit"
either way all 3 pretty easy, just have to be not retarded
I agree with you and I think it just boils down to preference.
My favorite job in the game is Summoner and I feel that it's the easiest job in the entire game. But I've got the rotation memorized to the point I could cast in my sleep and my awareness on the field is best when I'm on it cause I'm so comfy.
Ninja seems to come naturally to me as well so I just think it's an easy DPS.
I do not fucking like playing Monk and the parse shows I am ass at it. (Mainly once you throw in positional play, I become too aware and focused on this that I lose control of paying attention to mechanics or vs versa. I act full retard)
Never played Dragoon to any worthwhile degree so it could be easier, who knows.
Edit: I bet if I poured a month of just focusing on monk that it would get easier but I've adapted immediately to Ninja and it's so fucking easy that I have 0 desire to learn monk now. *shrug* I think it's just personal preference.
Now 'old on. Let's look at BC bosses.
Turn 1: Never lose GL
Turn 2: Never lose GL
Turn 4: Never lose GL
Turn 5: Guaranteed to lose GL during DBs, then possible loss to RNG during conflag/dreadknight
Turn 6: Possible loss to RNG if marked with honey
Turn 7: Possible loss to RNG if marked with shriek, or hit by it
Turn 8: Never lose GL
Turn 9: Cancer.
Turn 10: Possible loss to RNG if marked for charge
Turn 11: Never lose GL
Turn 12: Possible loss in transition to add phase
Turn 13: ???
Except for 5 and 9 (maybe 13?) you will never absolutely lose GL. There are more occasions of RNG mechanics fucking you over. Often a fresh GL3 in the middle of a mechanic can be salvaged with PB-Snap after the mechanic is over rather than starting from scratch with a full PB combo. But your mileage may vary.
How about primals:
Ifrit: Jump'n'Dash is practically guaranteed to wipe GL
Garuda: Never lose GL
Titan: Guaranteed to lose during SP if you didn't get bombs just before
Levi: Guaranteed to lose during SP, but possible to maintain otherwise if PT DPS is high enough
Ramuh: Possible loss to charm; also tether, if you're a babby
Shiva: Guaranteed to lose during SP, but it's cool
With few exceptions, you're going to lose GL on primals--usually during SP, which is not so bad since the mob is invulnerable to everybody. Second half is the only part that counts in primals anyway, right?
What's SP?
primals aren't content
SUMMON POWER
A few exceptions being every primal fight and and at least 50% of BC fights (and of those, the final fights have GL drops while also being the hardest to learn and execute). Yeah, OK. Also Garuda is possible to lose GL on. T12 you'll lose GL on adds and aerial phase. T13 at dives for sure (twice for sure, thrice if not prepared), Earth Shaker if unlucky with timing, Megaflare if scared or unlucky in last phase. So essentially, in every fight that's actually difficult (T5, T9, T13) and a potential loss on a few more fights.
This is ignoring the stupid shit MNK does to keep GL up in fights where losing it is basically only possible if slow or cowardly.
So, all primals you lose GL. BC 1, 2, 4, 8 and 11 are fine. 6, 7 and 10 are potentially losses, while 5, 9, 12 and 13 are certain losses.
Edit: Thinking about 2 further is not that clear cut either, since every node contributes to the boss and your speed overall getting to it counts (in which case MNK is still worst off since you have to go from 0 > GL3 without PB for most nodes).
Dammit Niiro. I was getting fantastical ideas of what SP should stand for.
You're definitely right. For some reason I didn't connect FFXI to FFXIV.
Sexual Potency
As is the universal constant, spending poetic on that particular slot = gear for slot will drop.
yup if you want dreadwyrm weapons, either you spend 1300 soldiery, or you make a ZW weapon
shit will drop instantly
