I can't even make sense of your insult. That's my complaint.

But they're 45 and you're not, so clearly they automatically know best, because achievements you can get through sheer perseverance are the best indicators of skill. If you disagree, you're just casual trash.
If nothing else, idiots in this game have taught me that much.
I decided to run ST last night because I still need a few pieces for glamour and wanted to get it before everybody moves on to WoD. I got the worst run ive ever had.
We wiped twice on Glasya because tanks couldn't grab the soldiers into position and healers just medical spammed to hold aggro and not do anything. Two of the tanks were new, 1 was a WAR in full af1 (not glamoured) with nq bravura and some soldiery accessories to get him over ilvl requirement. The other new guy was just stupid.
The rest of the run wasn't as bad but still slow as fuck. I still want my glamour but damn people are bad.
I wish people could stop being 5 year olds and just play the game in general. Internet dragons and such.
It doesn't matter what they do it will be a snoozefest. Once you've ran this shit once it's so easy it's boring. I haven't set foot in ST since 2.4, it's just not fun at all spending 40 mins clearing trash and the odd training dummy disguised as a boss fight. SE need to stop being lazy and develop a hard mode alongside these casual raids. It doesn't have to be Coil difficulty but something that requires skill would be nice.
can you describe this fight for me? or give me an idea as to how you might add "skill" into a XIV fight using current battle systems?
Im not complaining about your complaint, I'm only curious how you see "skill". Even Coil is just a "complex" Simon Says. I think given time I could create a challenging fight, but, skillful? I mean, its hard to think of a "skillful" fight when the only skill comes from memorizing a rotation. I too would like a little more "umph" in my fights, but CT/ST/etc are suppose to be more casual than other content due to it being extremely rare to gather 23 other competent people.
()())()())()()()()ohgodtheyfelloff
Calling coil "easy" and a game of "Simon Says" is a bit disingenuous when the most difficult things you've cleared are T7 and T5 after 2.4's release. You're experiencing the fights long after they're toned down and the average ilvls are way higher.
I'm not sure what else you want out of a game. For the most part you need everyone to perform their role passably and to pay attention to the fight/arena for all of Coil, yes that's true. I don't see why that's wrong. What do you want, a random order of moves targeting random people? At some point it'd be ridiculous like "oh Twintania is gonna run over and Death Sentence the healer, good fucking luck" "I heard you talkin shit Mr.Bard, here's 4-5 Bahamut's Claws" "Allagan Field on the tank, fuck off boy"
Hey now, I never said it was easy, In fact, i called it complex(Though you could be referring to his original statement, which is very possible, if so, apologies). But it is a pattern, no matter how complex the pattern they are patterned fights. This doesn't mean simple or easy, I'm not trying to convey that they're simple or easy... it just means there a strict pattern it follows. That pattern can be bonkers though for some people. Personally, T9 feels like 3 different EX primal fights smashed into one and it can be very disorienting, its a lot of things to memorize. I just wonder simply what his idea of skill is. I'm curious if he has thought of something I could not when it comes to what you can do with fights in XIV
Also, for me its not a matter of me not being able to clear T8, T9, etc.. its a matter of finding 7 other people who are competent enough to clear it as well. As usual, my biggest challenge in an MMO is finding people who can actually clear it ._. - Or finding people who actually log in... and so on. Even my RL friends log in less and less
I'd like to think I could clear 10~ onwards... I just dont have the people.
That would be truly awful. Hilarious, but truly awful.I'm not sure what else you want out of a game. For the most part you need everyone to perform their role passably and to pay attention to the fight/arena for all of Coil, yes that's true. I don't see why that's wrong. Isn't the 'skill' subject with regards to MMOs in general a beaten-to-death subject already?
Main thing I see people lacking is self awareness. The rest is just assumed shit, knowing your job/rotations, and having a general idea of the battle flow and mechanics.
I just want final CT to be more than a series of round arenas with pointless trash pulls and bosses with no penalties for doing something other than simple tank&spanking outside of 2hr-time. Hopefully that triple-Atomos thing will let people from one party hop over to the other though midbattle, unless we want a repeat of CT wipe-a-thons.
4 of the 66 servers are fucked up.
I'd carry that luck with me to coil, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE WE WON'T BE GOING AGAIN HAR HAR.
Same shit happened last night.
So go do it. Pugs clear at least 10 and 11. The excuse is always "blahblahblah I can't find 7 other people who don't suck." You probably put forth less than an hour into building a group or a clear party. You could start by finding an FC that isn't filled with unskilled players (99.9% of players in BFG are a liability in T9+).
Huh...? did I piss in your cheerios and just forget?
I joined that FC because a friend invited me the first day i returned to XIV, its empty or dead most of the time anyway, i communicate with my Linkshells far more often... What does that have to do with anything at all anyway. Where the fuck are you even coming from with this nearly butthurt level of animosity toward my passing statement regarding my current Coil clearings?
Seriously clue me in. I've not once before today said or related anything to my coil clearings and only brought it up in a response to Rocl, so where is this "the excuse is always" salt coming from.
No I just like to call out people who say that nothing requires skill/game isn't hard, except then it turns out they haven't cleared anything and just blame other people for their lack of progression.
Fair enough, I'm still confused as to where I've said this though... really. Heres sentences from my very post.
This doesn't mean simple or easy, I'm not trying to convey that they're simple or easy. That pattern can be bonkers though for some people. Personally, T9 feels like 3 different EX primal fights smashed into one and it can be very disorienting, its a lot of things to memorize. Now, this last one is the one I see you might be thinking on, but, as you can see, I was talking specifically to ST/CT here, and it being the more casual friendly of end game raids. But at the end of the day, I have to go with Kaisha here, the skill argument has been beaten to death and honestly it can be implied or argued skill does/does not exist. I take the stance that rather it be by mechanics or memorization, some amount of skill and challenge is involved, even if its in mastering/learning the patterns.I too would like a little more "umph" in my fights, but CT/ST/etc are suppose to be more casual than other content due to it being extremely rare to gather 23 other competent people.
I brought it up because you were man enough to link your lodestone to your BG account. (Nothing better than "everything is easy" and having no ammo to call ppl out)
That said, I mean I agree with Dammerung, I really hate the "finding 7 people is harder than coil"
Well I know where you're coming from at least. However, I don't see how implying I have difficulty finding people who are able to clear somehow translated into "Everything is easy and requires no skill". maybe thats how other people imply it, but thats not how I meant to imply it. Perhaps It was a matter of poor communication that hopefully I've cleared up? Cause I've never said either of those statements in bold. (well, I can't say for certain I have never said those statements anywhere on these boards or on the Official forums but... a mans opinion can change)
Shit on a cracker I'm not/wasn't even trying to make excuses, I know full well the reason I haven't beaten or cleared T8/9/onward is because I haven't pursued it hard enough due to past failures.
Finding 7 people who are consistent in their availability is easily the same difficulty as t10/11/12.![]()
