maybe if they just made the game more like ffxi the game wouldn't suck

You should probably just go play FFXI and not try and ruin this game.
Until there's a way to enforce progression when setting up a PF the NA/EU PFs will always be full of shit. By enforce progression I mean a checkbox/dropdown that requires players have been to phase 2/3/percentage/whatever you select before they can join the party.
SE seems to be against that because it will lock people out of groups. Yeah well the group not existing to begin with will also lock them out. Coil is at a level where everyone has to be at the same progression point, unless people are severely over geared but then people would rather sell it than carry.
People already do this unofficially using the soldiery message but that only works for farm groups. There's no equivalent people can use for progression. You don't want someone who hasn't seen phase 2 in your T13 phase 4/near clear group but you can't enforce that and that one person is going to join and ruin the group. I had that all the time when PUGing T7 in 2.2.
- RMT spam getting out of hand lately. This shit should be a joke to filter server-side, wtf is their STF crew even doing?
- Repeat of last weeks drops in T13 this week
- Only a single BRD dreadwyrm drop after just over two months of doing FCoB making me feel bad for our brd
- PF is a complete waste of space outside of static advertising, at least on my server
- Still have no commands to handle a good chunk of system/character options. I want macros to toggle music/titles/crank resolution for screenshots/ditch eye-candy for 60fps on S-ranks
- BLMs who can't be arsed to look up basic AoE rotations and make mega pulls a huge strain to heal as a result
- SEs going to inevitably fix the chocobo growth bug in 5 days

94-98% NQs....why do you do this to me?!?
Trash is only trash because it serves no purpose other than to delay you slightly, it's designed to be trash. Give it purpose and trash suddenly is important. Make it drop crafting mats, affect which path you can take in the dungeon, and/or the loot and difficulty of the boss. If killing/not killing all the Allagan Nagas suddenly made Imdugud easier or harder, people would take more notice of them instead of having a Ninja sneak past everything while people afk.
Yea this is me. I haven't done coil while it was current content since T5, I've only stepped in ScoB once echo was in place, and I havent even zoned into FCoB. Playing wow, I can do LFR, and things can completely go to shit and I can still win and get loot. It's super casual and every fight is tank and spank, the mechanics are still there but you can brute force them through DPS/healing. Since meters are easily accessible and accepted, if some jerk off is obviously afk, because they are at the bottom, you just link the meters in chat and cry to vote kick them.
I only have to spend at the most 30-45 mins, and I can see the content and get a door prize, it's super accessible.
I guess FFXIV's version of this is crystal tower, but I'd rather have something like that for coil, since coil has a lot of good story elements.
"My experiences are everyone elses" well that's really good for you. Good until you reach the max limit and have to tell people to not come (still) or you get into the run and realise that instead of 1, or maybe even 2 slackers you have 16 and because it's a raid that everyone wants to be so hard and need skill that means at least 90% of the raid has to not be functionally retarded.
Or maybe you're just the exception and don't give a fuck, in which case no one gives a fuck.
Why does a raid need a certain number of people to be considered a raid rather than the actual content within the event making it a raid? If you could do what people call a classic raid with less than classic raid numbers (at any point in the game) does it cease being a raid? I don't get why people are so pedantic about what is a raid and what isn't.
Aside from learning how to paragraph properly (because these posts are getting long) I agree. Trash mobs and split paths may make for a classic raid but holy shit I don't care what happens before I reach a boss. Even with adds/trash appear as part of the scripted fight I barely give a shit because I came to this arena to fight a motherfucking dragon/bird/hydra/cat, not their shitty spawn.
I just want people to think about CT. Imagine if any fight in CT was as punishing as turn 7 was. Hell, I've been in CT runs that have felt like turn 7 because 2/3 parties don't feel like pulling their weight. People get stressed out and bitchy over 8 man raids (OH NO I SAID RAID AND REFERENCED LESS THAN 24 PEOPLE) because they're actually difficult. If you had that difficulty with 20+ people it would be nigh impossible, so what's the alternative? Make shit really easy. Like CT. Or spend ages balancing and adjusting constantly because there's no good way to balance fights with more than 20 people aside from overdoing it one way or another.
Oh, that bug. That's like the best bug ever. Did you turn-on RPwalking when you strafed?
Lag continues to be really shitty for me in Socal (especially Monday/Tuesday nights). No other game lags for me currently
Barely get the chance to play with the one doing wedding with and constant 90k![]()
This. I started playing again seriously when 2.4 hit having not played since about the middle of 2.2. I still have yet to clear t9 even though my old static I was with was working on it when I left. When I came back my old FC all quit and I was basically rolling solo in PF while I worked to play catch up. It's pretty awful when every t9 group can't get passed golems.
I just want a pool of people who have the mental capacity to move behind shiva during bow phase when she isn't turned correctly instead if throwing their own mistakes at the tank for not turning her correctly.
Counterpoint: Savage. How many people (percentage-wise out of people who had cleared T9) bothered with it? Yes there are other factors (same lockout, "just a title"). But it's still a thing that exists despite its insanely small eligible playerbase.
Just have something players can strive for that means something. This isn't (entirely) XI-nostalgia talking here. Having a coil-level 24man (or god forbid, variable party size) raid would at least give some options.
This is why I feel you should have OPTIONS for gearing up if it's all going to be the same boring shit of stat number porn and no special effects.
-8man raid
-Weekly currency
-PvP (currently 20 under for PvE)
-24man raid (currently 10 under and stupid-easy)
-Crafted (currently 20 under and a bag of worms)
This would be a start.
