FFXIV Random Complaint Thread II: DPS can't count to potato

Came back after being away since 2.0.

Main story quests to unlock ramuh, levi and shiva are the most annoying pointless fetch bullshit "talk to this guy. now this guy" type of quests out there. I wanna kill myself.
Take a break from that to level a lower lvl class and I remember why I quit in the first place. Leveling up is still stupid and almost harder now because FATE trains aren't as big. Should I even bother doing Crystal Tower or first few turns of Coil? I'm guessing pugs will drive me bonkers

Usually people just do dungeons for levels now; much less mind numbing than FATE trains. If you want a tank or healer for a low level dungeon, him me up. For high level, stuff, I wouldn't bother with Crystal Tower. Do ST and first coil until you get a T5 clear, then do second coil to gear up.


Edit: Oh, yeah. My random complaint.

So, running T9 with a moderatly decent group (can clear, sloppily) out of boredom. I'm BLM, and marking divebombs. I finally realize why randomly I can't click on the damn button to actually mark, thus making me flustered and angrily fuck it up. You can't mark and cast at the same time. Like, seriously, why the fuck is it that way, as during a cast is the perfect time to mark. Sure, it's probably some limitation because they reused the floor target system for marks too, and you cannot use the floor target while casting because you can't cast and cast at once...fuck! Fix your targeting, SE!

Well, you do need to beat Crystal Tower first to access Syrcus Tower, but CT nowadays is not bad at all since everyone overgear the fuck out of it, the worst part is the 30-50 min que. For Coil coil 1-5 ppl will prob carry you just because of the myth points bonus.

Also Koul weren't on you Hyperion? me and gazillion BG ppl in my FC and Hyperion BG LS would be more than happy to take you through coils and stuff.

95% of the time on Primal datacenter it's a long queue and an absolute shitshow inside. I had to vote abandon one halfway through it was that bad. ST is fun though, slogging through CT once just to unlock that is a struggle though.

First tower can be a pain in the ass if you have idiots (Bone Dragon.... /cringe), but the 2nd is pretty decent.

EDIT: Holy fuck at the whiners in this game. 1 wipe on the 2nd boss in Stone Vigil Hard because nobody but me and maybe someone else were stunning the bosses AoE and were ignoring the adds when they attacked other people on the cannons. After the wipe someone votes to abandon, abandon fails, WHM and PLD ragequit.

That's.........pretty fucking terrible. That boss is, literally, the easiest one in the entire game. You push all of 2 buttons for about a minute and it's done.

Which is all the more sad since XI has MP/TP view on alliances these days w/o 3rd-party. They have no problem giving PC/PS4 specific features in XIV, but not something simple like optional TP bars. Screw whatever processing budget limits they have in place for the PS3 release, they can do without it.
